An Authentic Trullo Set In Olive Groves In The Heart Of The Atria Valley.

This beautiful trulli was completely renovated and extended in 2007 by its English owners to create a 3 double bedroomed, 2 bathroomed holiday home. The home is set in 3 acres of olive and almond groves in a lovely rural setting. There are delightful countryside views and a real feeling of privacy and tranquillity despite being only 10 minutes from the bars, restaurants and shops of Ostuni. We have tried to give the property a relaxed, rustic, natural feel without compromising the beauty and simplicity of the original structure or of the surrounding countryside.

The home consists of trullis with a torre ostunese, a small square building - the original two hundred year old stone built trulli which has 1 large double bedroom, 1 bathroom and a living/dining/kitchen (with double sofa bed) and the newly built extension (also a trulli built by local builders to compliment the existing building) which has 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom and a living/dining/kitchen. They have separate entrances. This arrangement makes them ideal for groups where 2 guests would prefer increased privacy, for example two couples one of which has two children or a family with grandparents.

The trullis have a fully stocked kitchen which are perfect for preparing simple lunches. The bathrooms are both a decent size. The new extension also has a dishwasher. Both parts also have access to a large utility room with a washing machine, iron, ironing board etc. The garden furniture is by Emu and of very high quality. The pool which was completed in 2008 has a large terrace around it with sun loungers and a huge umbrella. There is also a separate outdoor, partially covered eating area with a large table and chairs and an outdoor cooking area with bbq, sink and work area. This makes it ideal for alfresco dining or just sipping a cocktail as you watch the sun set over the hills. There is also a large terrace in front of the trullo which has a large outdoor sofa and coffee table perfect for relaxing with a pre dinner drink. The whole property is beautifully lit up at night so you can enjoy the warm evenings for as long as you want to.

The property is approached down a long rural lane and has large gates at the entrance and a shaded parking area. The grounds are premoninantly olive and alonds groves so are not manicured gardens but provide a fantatsic sense of space and privacy. If you happen to be at the house in Sept/Oct please feel free to pick and eat the almonds.

A pleasant away from it all location - property requires bit more attention to detail

Pro's- Tranquil, with good privacy levels and lots of space

Benefits from true split living accommodation

Plenty of rustic charm

Friendly local maintenance help

Cons - Would be a little too rustic for some, only stone floor & walls etc throughout.

No mosquito problem in the property although the plug ins are recommended, but you do need to share floor space with some harmless critters.

There is scope for further modernisation without compromising the Trulli experience, a couple of unfixed wear and tear items on arrival.

Kitchen equipment levels were fairly basic.

A 24 hr Power cut was a bit inconvenient and worrying at the time - (not the properties fault), very rural out of town feel.

In comparison to our previous owner direct rentals, more comprehensive before the holiday owner support would have been welcome.

Still could be a pick for independent minded families who are maybe returning to Puglia, or a romantic hideaway for a couple/s looking for seclusion.

The local big town Ostuni has a wonderful old quarter with the classic Puglia charm. Plenty of tourists, but not spoilt with Burger bars etc and non Italian influences.

Absolutely amazing home

Excellant condition and perfect weather.

Our Son and Daughter-in-law and four grandchildren could not believe the experience of staying in an authentic Trulli style home.

The oversize pool made things even better for all.

The trullo is located in a rural setting a few kilometres from a small village Casalini where you will find a couple of restaurants, a bar and plenty of shops for food shopping. The immediate countryside is very unspoilt and beautiful and the house is surrounded by olive groves. A 15 minute drive takes you to the nearest beach which is full of local colour with beautiful crystal clear water. For food lovers there are plenty of great restaurants and the local produce is fantastic as is the local wine! The nearby towns of Ostuni, Cisternino and others are full of character and have beautiful medieval centres perfect for a stroll or an evening aperitivo.
