Le Petit Bretagne

Rue Charlot, 3rd Arrondissement, Le Marais

Studio Apartment, Sleeps 2

Le Petit Bretagne studio, is located on the quiet courtyard of a very charming 18th-century building in the heart of Le Marais. There isn't an apartment in Paris more charming and cheerful...ask all who have had the pleasure of staying here.

Le Petit Bretagne is completely equipped in spite of its size! Complete with a queen-size bed that converts to twin beds when desired, a Siemens brand washer/dryer combination, espresso maker, microwave, toaster-oven, two-burner ceramic stove, refrigerator, high speed Internet, flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo, and free(!) long distance phone service to 100 countries, this delightful and cozy studio makes a perfect Parisian home for one or two.

The studio has been crafted with loving hands by a local mosaic artist who created the mosaic-tiled kitchen and bathroom and special touches on the walls.

The bath is equipped with both a rain shower head and hand-held shower, magnifying mirror, hair dryer and glass shelving to put all your personal belongings. There is ample storage space in a floor-to-ceiling closet equipped with a clothing hamper, marketing cart, step stool, three areas of hanging space for your clothing, four drawers and lots of shelving.

Located on the third floor (European, no elevator) up sweet carpeted wooden Marais stairs, facing southeast, this quiet studio gets a beautiful amount of sunlight through all three windows, adorned with white linen drapes. When the windows are open, you'll be able to smell the fresh rosemary planted in the window boxes.

With rue de Bretagne just next door, the apartment embraces the heart of the Marais and central Paris with all the typical French commerce you could ever wish for, including three boulangeries (bakeries), a number of boucheries (butchers), poissonneries (fish markets), epiceries (grocery stores), primeurs (fruit/vegetable shops), fleuristes (flower shops), bar/tabacs (tobacco shops), cafés and lots of excellent and charming restaurant, not to mention Paris' oldest covered market, Les Enfants Rouges, which dates back to 1615! In the last few years, designer boutiques and art galleries have sprung up like tulips. The district becomes more and more important to Paris' finest artisans. It is only minutes from the Musée Picasso, the Places des Vosges and a fifteen-minute walk to Saint-Paul, Hôtel de Ville and Notre Dame. Don't miss the Square du Temple, Le Carreau du Temple and the City Hall of the 3rd Arrondissement before reaching Place de la République. The location is great and with a large number of transportation lines, you're only minutes away from just about every part of the city.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our first visit to Paris, and what a wonderful place. It started when we

were greeted by our Concierge upon our arrival. Her hospitality in showing us

everything in the apartment began our adventure. The apartment was just what we needed. It was small but well-arranged and fully equipped. We stayed busy while in Paris but we soon found ourselves calling the apartment "home" at the end of each day because it was so comfortable. We even had to call the Concierge once because we had forgotten what she had told us and she was so pleasant to deal with. Merci for such a nice place to stay while we enjoyed Paris.

Very charming, and bright studio in the Marais!

I really enjoyed my stay in "le Petit Bretagne". It is a charming studio in a quiet courtyard in the heart of the Marais. It is located right off rue Bretagne with Cafe Charlot on the corner, Marché des Enfants Rouges, wine and grocery stores all in its vicinity. The studio has all the comforts - a nice bed, linens, tv, wifi, and fully equipped kitchen. I spent the day at the Louis Vuitton Foundation - highly recommend going there.

I look forward to staying in this lovely studio again.
