Morso di Luna is a truly unique property, offering wonderful accommodation for a small group of up to 4 people. Just 70 steps take you to down to the beautiful pebbled beach in the tranquil village of Marina del Cantone. One of the prime dining spots on the Amalfi Coast, the restaurants of the village are a magnet for celebrities who travel from Capri to savour the delicious local fare.
You will arrive onto the spacious terrace, with simply stunning views of the Gulf of Salerno. From the shade of the veranda to the open tiled barbeque area, you will find the perfect spot in which to relax. There is a choice of dining tables, beneath the veranda, or in the open sunshine.
Entering the house through and arched doorway, you will find yourself in the open plan living area of the property. The first thing that will strike you is the sheer luminescence of the extraordinary light, flooding through the high arched doorways onto your balcony and windows to the side and reflecting off the high white ceilings and walls. The light changes throughout the day as the sun arches through the sky and finally sets.
A large balcony is accessed via double doors, with pretty patterned tiled floor and wrought metal railings. From here the view of the sea just below you is breathtaking.
The living room features an exposed brick wall with a large tiled mural of the coastline. The floor is tiled and an open tread staircase leads to the second floor. There is air conditioning throughout, and a Wifi internet connection.
The sitting area is cosily furnished with large sofas and a flat screen television. A dining table for six is next to the kitchenette, equipped with a four ring gas hob, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. If you need to catch up on laundry whilst you are away, there is a washing machine, ironing board and iron in a separate area accessed via your terrace.
Also downstairs is the comfortable double bedroom, with a spacious wardrobe and turquoise floor tiles echoing the sky and sea outside. There is an en suite bathroom with shower, toilet, wash basin, bidet and hairdryer.
Also on the ground floor, off the corridor leading to the bedroom, is a second stylish bathroom, tiled in white with jewel-like turquoise accents. This also has a shower enclosure, toilet, washbasin and bidet.
Moving upstairs, past the brightly coloured fish that adorn the white wall, you come to the upper sleeping area on a mezzanine level overlooking the living room. This is furnished with a single bed for an adult and a queen sized bed suitable for an adult or two children.
Parking for Morso di Luna is just 150m away in a car park. From here, the house is accessed from the road via 20 steps.
After an unforgettable stay at Morso di Luna you will truly feel you have experienced the best of the Amalfi Coast.
We have rented properties throughout Europe and this was the best place we have rented thus far. The property is as stunning as the photos. The FeelingItaly Team was the best property management team we have come across. They're very connected in the area and were able to make recommendations and reservations for us that were all spot on. They were very warm and friendly. They took us to the property the first day and showed us how everything worked. They surprised us on arrival with a welcome spread on the kitchen table which included the best mozzarella de buffalo you will ever taste, fresh tomatoes and basil, pasta, coffee and a bottle of wine. The location of the property is in a quiet village with excellent restaurants and beach. There is easy driving access from the property to all of the Amalfi Coast. The water is less than 100 yards away from your doorstep. The view of the sea from the large glass doors in the living room is spectacular.A perfect get away vacation property.
Although driving to Marina del Cantone with its narrow winding roads was a challenge, the end result more than made up for it. The house, Morso di Luna, was just as described, including a beautiful terrace and balcony. It was well maintained, lots of hot water and once a week the bedding is changed and the house is cleaned.
The walk to the house is a little challenging because there are about 30 stone steps going down to the path that leads to the house. Fortunately Chris, who met us in Sant'Agata, carried our luggage to the house, explained how everything worked and made sure we were comfortable. He also took us on a tour of the village where everyone greeted us.
Each morning waking up to the sound of the sea and the smell of lemons was heavenly. It was a great place to unwind and the beach was a short walk away.
Marina del Cantone is a small fishing village filled with warm and friendly people and just a 10 minute walk from the house. There we booked 2 boat tours : one to the Isle of Capri and one to Amalfi where we also enjoyed Positano.
The public transportation to Sorrento is good and punctual. There we took in the Tuesday market day and the many wonderful shops and restaurants in the heart of Sorrento.
A little over an hour away by car, north of Naples, is the La Reggia shopping outlet, lots of high end shops and a great experience.
Pompeii was on our list so we booked with Friends of Sorrento Tours for a guided tour and after Pompeii went to a vineyard for a wine tasting lunch. We were picked up and dropped off at our house. In the 2 weeks we were in Marina del Cantone we only used the car a few times.
Every day was a treat, the restaurants in the area are wonderful, fresh and delicious food and the gelato is great. There are 2 small food stores in Marina del Cantone and 1 in neighboring Nerrano, but in Sorrento there are large grocery stores.
We did have a slight problem with the washing machine and wifi, but Chris quickly rectified it.
I would highly recommend this beach house. Thank you Chris and Sergio, it was a great holiday and a wonderful experience!
