Black Hills House Rental Photos and Description

Home has open design with attatched double garage

Located in the heart of The Black Hills, Nemo puts the motorcyclist at the center of Sturgis Rally action. Scenic, paved highways take you through beautiful Vanocker Canyon to Sturgis, 17 miles; beautiful, winding paved highway to Rapid City, 16 miles, or scenic Highway #385 to Deadwood, 16 miles, where you can take in the casino action. Home is walking distance to Guest Ranch Beer Garden and Big Mama's Beer Garden.

Four Wheelers delight. Back your ATV out of the attached double garage and ride1/4 mile down the country road to gain access to Centennial Trail. Spend the day four-wheeling through the hills.

Bicycling or hiking through Centennial Trail or Mickelson Trail is also a great way to spend your vacation.

Home is located close to some of the best snowmobiling trails in the Black Hills.

Surrounded by the National Forest, you are located in an ideal setting for hunting (deer, wild turkeys) and fishing.

Don't feel like cooking or just want some night life? Walk over the bridge and spend the evening at Nemo Guest Ranch restaurant which serves meals all day. There you can take in some of the rich Nemo history. Nemo also offers a General Store, US Post Office and Church.

About Paul and Katharine Lehmkuhl

We fell in love with Nemo the first time we rode through the area. My husband and I love to ride the hills during the Sturgis Rally and on one of those rides we came upon Nemo. After that we made it a point each year of stopping at the Nemo Guest Ranch for dinner, or an early morning ride to enjoy the Nemo Volunteer Fire Department breakfast. Finally, after just being a visitor to the area, we decided to buy a place of our own and spend more time enjoying this beautiful area.

Paul and Katharine Lehmkuhl purchased this house in 2004

What makes this house unique

Since buying our Nemo home we have broadened our outdoor adventures. We love spending the day riding our ATV’s over the many trails. On an ordinary ride we can picnic by an old, abandoned mine or find the trace outline of an abandoned homestead. My husband has also added the sport of turkey hunting and can hunt in the forested areas right around Nemo. He has also been able to deer hunt in the Nemo area.

During spring and summer the area is full of beautiful wild flowers. Short walks down the country road that runs by our house and you come upon countless wild flowers. I have started a wild flower picture collection of the many different flowers seen in this area and on our trail hiking.

There is so much natural beauty in this area; one simply enjoys the quietness and clean air.

South Dakota Trip

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I stayed in Paul and Katharines house in Nemo for a week in June, it was a blast we had so much fun sight seeing and visiting with the local people. The people there were all so friendly and helpful with everything. We really enjoyed sitting on the back deck in the evenings and watching the deer and listening to the creek. We cant wait to go back next summer.

Beautiful home, wonderful views, great location in the Black Hills.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in this wonderful home 4 times in the past 5 years. It is beautiful. Full amenities, perfect location for hiking, biking, sight seeing, shopping and just enjoying the magnificent Black Hills of South Dakota. Centrally located – Rapid City, Sturgis, Deadwood, Lead, and Mt. Rushmore – all within a half hour. Spearfish, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway and Custer are all within an hour. Horseback and ATV riding are available within walking distance and the roads to the house are motorcycle friendly. We have traveled there with folks aged from 16 to 65 and EVERYONE enjoyed it. This is the best kept secret in the Black Hills!

Nemo house

  • 4 of 5

It was a nice place. It was clean and was great to have access to a washer/dryer. It was a comfortable fit for all 6 of us. Would've been nice if basement was finished as was quite cold down there. We loved the scenery and windy roads. Thanks for having us!

Great House Great Location

  • 4 of 5

This well kept, clean house is ideally situated for all the attractions of the Black Hills and Rapid City. We walked to the Creek for fly fishing and the trail system was just a stroll away (or a few seconds on a 4 wheeler) The neighborhood is all about horses and some of the nearby properties are not as well kept as this home. That being said the house had everything we needed and certainly represents excellent value for money.
