Cundy's Harbor Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Uniquely positioned just feet from the water's edge, sleeps 2, explore midcoast

We have the perfect location to relax and enjoy the scenic Maine coast. This is a nicely furnished, ground-floor, studio apartment in a two story house. We overlook Hopkins Island and Dingley Cove and the picturesque Maine shorelines beyond. You can launch your kayak from our yard.

Hopkins View has a large, fully-equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) and dining area and a bathroom with a tub and shower. The living room has a couch and a love-seat with views out a picture window. The bedroom which has just three walls (thus we must call this a on the living room side) has a quality queen-size bed.

You are just feet from the water (really makes us a special location) and can watch the active lobstering, recreational boating, and coastal wildlife. You have use of a BBQ and a small yard for sitting outside or eating at your picnic table. You'll enjoy lovely sunrises and beautiful evening light. We are the perfect spot to launch your kayak or canoe. The islands and coast in our area are perfect for exploring. A small public boat ramp is two blocks away. And we have a deep water mooring; ask about it if interested.

Take a walk into Cundy's Harbor. Buy your fresh lobsters at Watson's General Store and have them in a pot in minutes. (You can walk down to the water and choose yours right out of the holding box.) Cundy's Harbor is a gem! A quaint, active fishing harbor with a small summer restaurant on the wharf, a cute gift shop and little general store.

We are located between the Portland/Casco Bay area to our south and the Midcoast Maine area just to our north. Makes us a perfect location for day trips. Bath, Wiscassett, Boothbay, Camden, Portland, Freeport, etc. etc. Museums, hiking, antiquing, eating, shopping, exploring villages and coastline...and much more.

There is an upstairs apartment that sleeps four and a cottage next door that sleeps six... could be a great setup for a couple families wanting to be near... but not too close. This property was very peaceful. We came to celebrate our 35 wedding anniversary. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet. I recommend going to Watsons general store and picking out your lobsters. It's not as intimidating as it seems to cook lobsters. If you are looking for a grocery store, Shaws was very nice.

The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is the cost of 25.00 to rent sheets and towels. I know you have to wash towels, sheets etc...but, for 25.00 it would have been nice to have more than 1 towel each for 4 nights. Otherwise it was very nice

Romantic getaway

  • 5 of 5

Romantic getaway , We shared our 30th anniversary here! It was just awesome the scenes of the ocean and seals were just so delightful and breathtaking. The cottage was snuggled into the cove of the bay , every evening we watched the tide come and go. Rested relaxed and enjoyed each other's company here !!! It was our first time to cook our own lobster and eat it outside at the picnic area . Cundys bay is where we purchased the lobster and they taught us how to cook it and prepare it : Which the store is only around the corner to pick out your lobster or crab. The people are so friendly and helpful when we visited here at Cundys Harbor.

Beautiful Studio Cottage on the Bay

  • 5 of 5

We chose Hopkins View because we love kayaking on Maine bays and harbors. We rented kayaks for a week from a nearby outfitter who delivered and picked up our boats & gear. Launching and coming ashore was generally easy directly from the front lawn, as described, allowing for tides, which were generally favorable. The bay offers interesting paddling, with many islands, scenic views, wildlife; a nautical chart & compass were useful to us. WiFi service worked well and allowed us to access the weather and marine forecast-very helpful because wind and tide can be tricky. Anna's Water's Edge Restaurant in Phippsburg is on the water just across the bay and can be accessed by car or kayak-great, fresh seafood with local color!! On a rainy day we visited the beautiful Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay Harbor, and Popham Beach State Park on the Georgetown peninsula offers sweeping views of the Atlantic on a long stretch of white sand beach.

The 'cottage' is a downstairs studio apartment with a private entrance and its own front yard on the water. It was lovely, very comfortable, and clean. There is a well-equipped kitchen, and pleasant dining space indoors or out on the picnic table. Spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. The front yard has both sun & shade, and great views of the harbor and islands. Nearby Cundy's Harbor offers fresh caught lobster and seafood, and an active traditional Maine fishing harbor. Renting from Jean was very easy. This is an ideal spot to rest, relax & rejuvenate. About 1 hour from Portland and city offerings, but off the beaten track and not overly touristed. Very quiet, peaceful and well-maintained. I would recommend this property to a couple or single person,

Sweet Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This little cottage apartment was everything we hoped for. Perfect kayaking location with very easy put-in & take-out.

The owner anticipated all needs; the apartment was completely equipped with everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We met some wonderful people in the adjacent rental apartment & cottages.

If you want a quiet, beautiful location, this is it!

A true Maine vacation

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Hopkins View was like playing in a dollhouse with all the amenities of a full sized, well equipped kitchen, comfortable queen bed, living room with views of the harbor from every window, a yard with chairs, grill and picnic table--a very romantic spot for couples of any age. We enjoyed walks down wooded roads picking wild flowers just steps from the backdoor, meeting the lobster boat (within walking distance ) for fresh lobsters that we ate as the sun set over the ocean, plus this location is great for trips north or south on the coast. A nice TV and easy internet connection was a bonus. We had perfect weather and thank our hosts for a wonderful relaxing week 😎򓠮
