About Sue Holian

Have been renting this home for many years. As I have been a renter myself I want this property to have all the amenities possible. This home is upgraded every year. I go through, every tenant changeover, all the linens, and cabinets to make sure nothing needs refurbishing or replacing. I am only a cell phone call away to meet every tenants' needs.

Why Sue Holian chose Bourne Area

I have lived in this area since I was born and cannot tell you what a safe off the beaten track Pocasset has become., YET, we are so close to Boston, Newport, Providence , Hyannis, and the Islands. I was raised in this area, then my grown children, and now my grandchildren Three generations of such happy memories, learning about the ocean, the critters from the ocean, catching fish, watching the beautiful sailboats, and boats from the cape cod canal as well as kayaking, and canoeing.

This property is located on a dead end street in a very quiet and family orientated neighborhood. The house has been professionally decorated but very livable.. High ceilings with bright and cheery colors.

cape cod canal rental

My family and I stayed during a week in the summer and had a very enjoyable stay. The house was very clean and the rental owners were extremely pleasant to deal with and very helpful with any of our needs. The view of the canal was a nice change from the usual Cape Cod beach scenes.

The only thing we didn't anticipate was the how fra it was to many things. Although we were told it was residential, it was more off the beaten path then we thought it would be.But if that is what you are looking for then this is an ideal place.

This is truly a home away from home - very clean w

This is truly a "home away from home" with all of the accouterments one one would need, and it's as clean as a whistle! What a relaxing treat to sit in the kitchen and view the ocean traffic as one sips morning coffee! In addition, it's lovely to sit on the patio, sipping a glass of wine and "catching up", or reading a novel. Owner, Sue, is very accommodating and helpful, if/when needed. This is truly a "heaven on earth" finding, as I have been renting in Pocasset for many years, and this is the best! The home and views, along with the accommodations and people met, have been the best these past two years. It is close to favorite restaurants, fish markets, beaches and everything one would enjoy. I hope to return next year! Kudos to Sue!!!

Perfect Cape Cod Rental

This is our 4th year vacationing at this beautiful waterfront property. Everything is provided for you by the owner, all you need is your clothes and whatever groceries you would like! The owner is gracious, welcoming and very attentive to your needs. When we arrived the grill was not working properly and within one hour a new one arrived! The home is clean and updated and is close to restaurants, shopping and attractions. It is so relaxing sitting on the patio around a large table just looking out onto the water. You walk down a manicured lawn to a short set of steps that deposit you on a sandy beach. On a rainy day you can watch a large screened tv with dvd player. There are even games provided to play with the kids. I would highly recommend this property as a vacation rental, it is comefortable and even on the hottest days you can turn on the central air or get a beautiful breeze with the windows opened. Lovely home. Beautiful setting.

We just returned from a wonderful cape cod vacation. The home we rented was located in a beautiful setting on the water. It was private, clean, quiet and had everything necessary for eating at home. We loved sitting outside watching the sailboats! These pictures provided by the owner are exactly what you see from the patio.

The only drawback was that it was located in a rather remote area that made it easy to get on and off the Bourne Bridge (10 minutes) but meant we had to drive 20-25 minutes for some Mashpee Commons shopping! It was worth it!

Nice place, disappointing service

I stayed here, along with my mother, sister, and dog, for 4 days in mid-September 2010.

There was a miscommunication in booking the place. Although I specifically asked in my e-mail for FRIDAY-MONDAY and the calendar showed half day availability on Friday, it wasn't until after Sue wrote and said those dates would be fine that she wrote me back and said I could not arrive until Saturday. I'm not sure how that happened, but I was able to alter my plans and still come. I will say that Sue was very prompt in responding to any e-mail inquiries I had.

We arrived and she was not home, but had left the key just as she said. The place was quite charming. Very clean, nice layout, new kitchen. The TV in the living room is one of those old-type large screen box-on-wheels that have horrible picture quality, but we weren't there to watch TV so that didn't really bother us. Sue left a welcome note with instructions/rules. One of which says to contact her upon arrival and she would show us the beach. We called. She didn't call back until the next day. Of course, we went out on our own to the beach, which is VERY small, but has nice sand and is private and quiet. The house isn't exactly beachfront, it is a guest house which sits behind and between two larger houses, so that the view is partially obscured and you have to walk a minute to get to the water. The wireless internet wasn't working and the outside light was not working, so we called again. Since she didn't respond until the next morning, we had to fumble around in the pitch dark upon returning from dinner that night. When she did call back, she woke me up on a Sunday morning, and said she had had a medical emergency and had to leave unexpectedly. She said her daughter lived nearby and would stop by to change the lightbulb and check the internet router. She did stop by, to drop off a lightbulb (I guess we were supposed to levitate to change the bulb 10 feet off the ground outside) and said the router was indeed "on", but it still did not work. When I once again called Sue, she apologized, but said she knew nothing of computers and since the router was ON, it must be something wrong on our end. My mother is a computer programmer and my sister is a library media specialist, all of us had wireless devices not working, but yet it must be a problem on our end. That never did get fixed, we never even saw Sue, but we did enjoy ourselves anyway. If those problems were fixed, I'd recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: In reply to this latest review, I would like to add the following responses. First of all, the the outdoor light fixture referred to in this review could not be fixed by replacing a light bulb which my daughter had attempted to do but to no avail. Secondly, I was able to get a handyman on a Sunday morning to come, and he replaced the entire light fixture so the tenants would not be going in and out of the house during their stay in the pitch black. I have been renting this property for the past several years and have never had any complaints about this router as a way for tenants to hook up to the internet. Notwithstanding this, i have made a change as to the way future tenants get internet access. I have contacted Comcast Cable, and that company is now the server for both internet and cable service. All future tenants will only have to plug their computers into a specific line in the house negating the need for a router. I will continue to strive to make any future tenants as comfortable as possible yet giving them the privacy most people would want when renting a vacation property. It is unfortunate that the light fixture broke down during their stay, and that the router could not work for these tenants.

cottage rental

My wife, daughter, son in law, our dogs and I rented the cottage this past week ( June 5th through the 12th). First, Sue (the owner) was extremely friendly, consistantly asking us if we needed anything. Thank you Sue!!!!

We enjoyed our stay as it was private, CLEAN, and well appointed. The beach area was very close and the view of the water from the kitchen was my fovorite spot in the morning.

We will be back!!
