Great value studio, much more pleasant than a small expensive hotel room!
My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. We loved the location...neighborhood with close access to Paddington Station. We loved the apartment...just the right size for the two of us, thankful for the bath/shower combo in the bathroom, grateful for the kitchen so we can keep snacks and make small meals to save money. We were met by a kind gentleman, Simon, who was waiting for us when our taxi pulled up, gave us great information about the area after showing us apartment features (namely wifi) and was willing to answer any questions. Would definitely recommend!
well represented. Staff was always gracious and immediately responsive. Hope to do it again soon!
I must admit that the photographs airbrush this apartment. When we arrived, we were rather apprehensive as the building is probably the shabbiest in the street. We were also initially disappointed when we walked in to the flat.
There had been a few issues prior to arriving in that we had found it extremely difficult contacting the flat managers and were a bit worried that someone may not be there but there was a nice gent waiting for us.
So, initial impression, a bit dodgy. The bathroom was also a bit grubby and floors needed sweeping. HOWEVER, the pluses. Very very quiet. Only one window which opened into courtyards and othe rpeople's backyards. Luckily it wasnt too hot and we could use a portable fan. Comfie bed, and all the things we needed. We could cook but we only used the kitchen for breakfasts. It was a tiny galley kitchen.
Water pressure not the best in the bathroom either. having said all ths we grew fond of our little place in London.
I have travelled to London a number of times and staye din apartments. This wasnt the flashest however it was so conveniently placed to Paddington station and Queenway and Lancaster Gate tube stations.
Overall a positive experieince all round
As noted in previous reviews, the flat is conveniently located within walking distance to several bus lines as well as Paddington Station & Tube. The main room of the flat has a good layout with adequate floor space for luggage etc. It was very quiet, with its large window facing an adjacent courtyard/patio. I stayed in the flat during very warm weather, so the large window (and floor fan!) kept the flat comfortable. The flat had excellent WIFI. I used the washing machine and appreciated the drying rack. A step stool in the kitchen would have helped to retrieve items on upper shelves (so much for using the tea pot!). The bathroom was small but very clean. Both the bathroom and kitchen had limited cold water pressure (plenty of hot water, so be warned!). Although it was explained to me when I checked in, it would have been helpful to have written instructions (how to connect to WIFI, washing machine instructions etc). A torch/flashlight should be added for emergency situations (see below).
The flat is located on the first floor in an older building, so it is a full two flights of stairs up to where the flat is located. The manager who met me thoughtfully carried up my luggage which was appreciated!
The stay was enjoyable but ended prematurely when there was a unexpected power outage in my flat on a weekend evening. As my international phone was not working and there was no WIFI, a fellow traveller in an adjacent flat called the service desk (as well as text) but there was no answer/response (after hours, there is no voice mail). I was able to contact the service desk via email later that evening and received an automated response/ticket number. Fortunately I was able to obtain a hotel room within walking distance of the flat that evening.
No email updates were provided until I called the following afternoon, when I was informed the situation had been resolved. As I was not comfortable staying in the flat (no explanation was provided as to why the outage had occurred) I stayed in the hotel for the remainder of my stay. Upon contacting Elizabeth upon my return, she apologized, agreeing that her team had failed to keep me informed after the power outage. She readily refunded me a portion of the rental fees which subsidized my hotel costs.
Elizabeth & team were gracious to work with. However be aware of service desk hours after hours and on the weekends. And make sure to travel with a torch/flashlight!
We had a very positive experience. The young man who greeted us was outstanding. He was very professional and polite. Our toaster did not work and they replaced it that day! The apartment was clean and quiet. We loved being by Paddington Station! We would recommend this studio flat to our friends and family.
This flat was in a great location right next to Hyde Park and the Lancaster tube station, as well as several pubs, fabulous ethnic eateries, and a mall/cinema. Don't hesitate to stay here given these things and the staff's excellent communication and customer service. Now to be admittedly nit-picky: the heater remained on for most of our stay given the unseasonably cool temps outside and we couldn't control it as it was one setting for the entire building (we were advised of this as we entered, again highlighting the thorough communication and customer service of this group). The heat did cause some discomfort but we weren't looking to spend much time in the flat anyway. The shower was also a disappointment as the water pressure was almost non-existent and the temperature was sensitive. Again, this is a bit picky and overall we really enjoyed this flat for it's location and price. Thank you again Elizabeth & crew!
