Why Roderick Thomas chose Wolcott
I previously worked in Montpelier and found this beautiful unique property built just 12 years ago. I'm from Wales in the UK and Celtic. I've tried to give my home a European feel which I think works well in Vermont and what we now have is a unique New England property and experience.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
This is a traditional new England build with no screws but wooden pegs and substantial 12" timbers. Slate roofs, Slate and maple floors, there is even a full size tree feature in the main lounge with a spiral chimney again all unique features. It really is a unique property and you wont be disappointed.

Nice place but no hot water
Really nice house, good location. The hot tub was a bit dirty, slow to heat up. We did not have hot water for the entire stay. We contacted the property manager but got no response. Otherwise, a great spot, but a bit disappointed.
Thank you for your review which we take seriously. We have never had in ten years of operation a problem with hot water but on this occasion an electronic card that controls this heat failed! I apologise that it was not repaired immediately even though we did contact a plumber, straight away who did come out as soon as he could and locate and repair the problem. However, this is not the standard of level we expect and with this in mind we would like to offer you either compensation or a discount on the next visit. I will email my offer to you today. Thank you again for taking your time to provide feedback and for choosing to stay at The Red Barn and hope that you will return.
Great House; Host thought of everything
This is a great house for large groups. It has plenty beds so that everyone can sleep comfortably, but is still focused around one great central area so that everyone can spend time with each other. The grounds and the location are great, and the owner did a great job of providing everything we needed, along with clear directions and facilities to make check-out easy. Highly recommended!
The pictures do this property no justice!!!
This home was exactly what my family and I needed. Everything was absolutely perfect. Very big comfortable house. Awesome kitchen and firsplace. Hot tub was just a wonderful treat after skiing. Overall I would highly recommend this home! Great times!! Would 💯% go back !!
The Red Barn is great!
There were 8 of us and it was great! Close to Morristown and Stowe, but in a quiet, picturesque spot. The house itself is charming. Lots of character, rustic but with modern amenities. Our favorite moments this past weekend were snowshoeing at night to see stars, and relaxing in the hot tub while it snowed all around. Thanks for a great weekend!
We pride ourselves on the uniqueness of the property and the service we provide.
Thank you for your kind comments.
The Red Barn
Arrived to homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Property is beautiful and well kept. Spacious enough for the eight of us, with a cozy main floor where we were able to share meals and our stories from snowboarding that day.
Great home at convenient location.
This home provided us with warm and relaxing Christmas holidays. Its location was very convenient for skiing with friends at Stowe, Sugarbush and Jay Peak. It is very specious to accommodate company of friends or big family - kids have plenty of space to play even when it's below zero outside.
One small disadvantage is unstable internet connection, but you can use it as an excuse to get some rest from work and enjoy beautiful nature of Vermont.
Thanks for great holidays!
