The Mill House has spacious rooms and retains many original features. The house is centrally heated and has a combination of fitted carpets, rugs, stone and wooden floors. Almost all of the rooms have open rural views.

4 double bedrooms (kingsize beds, one being a 4 poster bed), 2 twin rooms (1 with adult sized bunk beds and a ground floor bedroom with 2 single beds). 3 bathrooms (1 with roll top bath, 1 with corner bath and separate shower, 1 ground floor shower room, all with sinks, WC and heated towel rails).

Elegant sitting room with open fireplace, stereo system and comfortable seating on sofas and armchairs. Snug sitting room with sofa, chairs and bean bags, wood burning stove, colour TV, DVD player and a selection of family games and books. Dining room with solid oak furniture with seating for eight people and a wood burning stove.

Fully fitted and well equipped kitchen with double fridge freezers, electric AGA, electric oven with ceramic hob, fitted microwave, dishwasher and kitchen table with seating for 4 plus a high chair. Separate utility room houses washing machine and tumble dryer.

Large, private and enclosed garden with mature shrubs, trees and large lawned area. Ample parking.

A very warm (homely) and spacious property

This was an amazing experience thanks to this lovely property. The house is very spacious with modern cons and a feel to it that can only be described as a family home. The location of the property made it easy for us to complete our hikes (Saturday 30 km and Sunday 17 km) but also offers great outdoor areas for barbecues and sun bathing (not that we chose the right time of the year). We enjoyed the large kitchen for bake off sessions and comfortable living rooms for lengthy chats about shared memories. Even the neighborhood was great as they came to our rescue when the car broke down and happened to be car mechanics! Who knew?!

I would highly recommend this property for a lovely holiday with friends and family and thanks to the owners for making my 30th birthday weekend so special.

The Isle of Wight has a lot to offer with fertile green land and one of the warmest climates in the UK, it boasts beautiful downs, peaceful woodlands, safe sandy beaches and areas of outstanding natural beauty.

The Mill House is situated in a quiet country lane with spectacular views across fields to the downs and is a ten minute walk from the sea. Across the lane is a pleasant ten minute walk beside the stream which leads to the picturesque village of Brighstone with its village shops, tearooms, pub and National Trust Museum and shop.

A marvellous walking area - footpaths can also be followed to join the coastal path leading to Tennyson Downs and the Needles. The secluded sandy bays of Compton, Totland and Colwell a short drive away.

There are also beautiful cycling routes, excellent places to eat out, the Isle of Wight Festival, Bestival and may other activities to enjoy. The Isle of Wight is a safe and relaxing place where families can enjoy time together.
