About Roger Thelwell-Pichler
We are a family from London who loves coming to stay in Broadstairs whenever possible. Our twin-girls always squeal with delight when we tell them that they will be going to the beach, building sand castles, paddling in the sea and having an ice-cream on the promenade - no matter what time of year it is. We fell in love with Broadstairs many years ago (we actually got engaged here!) and then our dream came true when we stumbled across this idyllic cottage in 2009. We have since restored it lovingly and turned it into a really cosy holiday home. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Roger Thelwell-Pichler purchased this Cottage in 2010

Sandy Bay Cottage
The cottage was very nice and in a very good area of Broadstairs.
There wasn’t a checkin-process, we picked up the key from a special place.
We didn’t have any communication with the property manager.
However we did feel overall it needed some TLC.
Thanks for your feedback Hilary.
We agree Broadstairs does need a bit of TLC.
Hope to see you again soon.
HOLIDAY HOME WITH EVERYTHING
Holiday stay had everything for an excellent stay including plenty of toys/games for the children, A well equipped kitchen.
Great house, peaceful location, relaxing environment, close to towns and beach
Large spacious light homely house with lovely gardens, very comfortable beds and sofas, good living space for our 6, much better than our previous caravan holidays where the family in crammed into small living space
Spacious and comfortable.
Near enough to the town yet far enough to be quiet
A beautifully presented house, close to the beach and the shops.
We have had a lovely holiday in Broadstairs and Sandy Bay cottage is located brilliantly, close enough to walk to the beach but far enough away from the bustle of the town to be relaxing.
Great seaside house
Very relaxing holiday with fantastic sunny weather all week. House is excellent and very homely and comfortable, and well situated for the lovely sandy beach at Stone Bay and only 10 mins walk to Broadstairs town centre, with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, so great for both families and seniors. There are plenty of other bays to explore and lots of seaside towns close by. We really liked Sandwich with all the old houses and visited Walmer Castle which has a lovely garden.
The beauty of breaks in Broadstairs is that whatever your interests, whatever your mood, whatever you age, there is always something enticing to do.
Most visitors are attracted to Broadstairs because of its many lovely sandy beaches. For fresh-air activity cycle along the family-friendly Viking Coastal Trail, play golf (18-holes, mini, adventure), or how about high-octane surfing.
Learning is fun for all ages with the Thanet Coast Project, which organises seashore safaris and Rock Doc Walks revealing the natural wonders of our coast. Maybe join a boat trip to see playful seals.
Broadstairs' heritage and culture is equally varied, contrasting Dickens House Museum and Pugin's Grange with Turner Contemporary and the innovative galleries of Margate Old Town. Also uncover surprises like the exotic Powell-Cotton Museum and the mysterious Shell Grotto.
Broadstairs' English Language Schools also attract many visitors throughout the year and many students, teachers and their families turn their learning experience into a holiday.
As to food, you can tuck into everything from fish and chips to Italian and Thai. Sample café culture beside Ramsgate marina and beer from the local brewery. Crunch on Thanet's very own new crisps and buy Kent's finest from Quex Barn farmers' market.
