About Jenna Franklin
Pearl River Cottage is a special place to stay. We specialise in making sure our guests have great holiday experiences. We’ve given much thought as to what we can offer guests as we know that slipping into our holidays is always much needed. We purchased Pearl River over 10 years ago as a peaceful and tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We both grew up in Devon and are very fond of the South Hams. Unfortunately we do not have the time to stay at Pearl River Cottage as often as we (or especially Bridgette & Luna, our Miniature Schnauzers) would like, which is why we make every effort to welcome you in the hope that you derive the same amount of pleasure from your stay as we do.

Why Jenna Franklin chose Kingsbridge
Pearl River Cottage is a very cosy cottage. It originally belonged to the church in the village before becoming a privately owned property. It is located in a quiet setting yet is only minutes into Kingsbridge with access to all the local amenities, as well as a short drive to the South West coast and coastal path, which links to all the fantastic beaches in the surrounding area. This area has many fond memories for the owners and given its location and affordability makes it an ideal holiday for couples and families or simply for those who just wants to get away from it all.

Lovely cottage in a great location.
We really enjoyed our stay in Pearl River Cottage.
There were a few things that needed attention - shower heat control not working properly - but we mentioned this to the owners and they intend to rectify promptly.
Thank you for your comments and we have already rectified the shower heat control, thanks again for letting us know.

Cosy cottage great location
The cottage is lovely and cosy, smaller than I expected, a fab new kitchen with everything you need, nice and clean, bathroom is tired but perfectly adequate.
Pearl cottage is in a very good location, short drives to Dartmouth/Salcombe, 15 minute walk to Kingsbridge where there are shops pubs and restaurants.
You can park on village hall car park which is only up the lane. Dog friendly to, what’s not to like !
Heavenly homely cottage.
The cottage is absolutely lovely.Very well equipped and thorough attention to detail in the kitchen area and the little touches to make it very dog friendly. The kitchen is very beautiful a joy to be in. The 2nd bedroom needs a little more character. The location is great, just a short walk into Kingsbridge. It was a wonderful relaxing homely environment to spend our holiday.
Cute, cosy cottage with great shower and comfy bed.
We had a fabulous week at Pearl River Cottage. We were central for exploring the beautiful surrounding beaches and countryside and for crabbing in Kingsbridge. The cottage was perfect for my husband, myself and our 8 year old son. The cottage was very clean with a great shower, lovely new kitchen and very comfortable bed. Would highly recommend it and may well be back. Thank you!
Lovely property, lot smaller than I thought it would be.
The property was smaller than I thought, but was manageable for us. Didn't realise pets were allowed, if I knew that I wouldn't have booked, but that was my mistake. It was clean enough, but places like on top of bed frame were dusty. Our bed was very comfy, but the kids bunk bed was terrible. There was springs poking out everywhere, even my 2 year old said it was uncomfortable. And every time my daughter moved on top bunk it squeaked loud. Maybe time to replace. There was a lovely welcome basket when we arrived which I thought was really nice. Other than the things mentioned it was a really lovely stay. And a very cosy cottage! If it wasn't for pets,I would've definitely returned.
Thank you for your response. We visited the cottage ourselves last weekend and noticed that the single beds were indeed uncomfortable, thank you for pointing this out, they will be replaced for next season. We also conducted a spring clean and can assure you that the cottage is looking spotless! We are about to extend the cottage (starting 1st October) so there will be a new kitchen and dining area at the rear of the property and new floors throughout the ground floor making it much more spacious! We're glad you had a good stay overall and with the changes being made, we do hope that this would encourage you to come and visit us next year.
A nice pit stop for a lovely holiday in Devon
Overal the property was nice. We didn't realise the owners allowed pets although I see it does say, I don't think we would have booked as the downstairs did smell a little of dogs? Overall the property was clean in the areas used but finer points of dusting books on stairs lights and ceiling had been missed and by the looks of it for sometime. Hoovering wasn't good. The description of the property I feel needs updating I wouldn't say it's accurate to now? For example the bathroom being recently decorated?
We did have a lovely stay though and although I have made the above points when staying in a holiday house your not there much and it was perfectly fine for our stay. Thank you for the cake very yummy.
Liane, thank you for your response. We do advertise that pets are welcome and the carpets are cleaned on a regular basis to reflect this. It was unfortunate that you detected a smell and only brought it to our attention the day before leaving the cottage, which I instantly acted upon by ensuring that the carpets were cleaned the very next morning. If only you'd let us know sooner, we could have resolved this for you. As for the bathroom, it was freshly painted in March of this year and as with all old cottages, they are traditional properties (i.e. not clean lines) yet we strive to retain a high level of cleanliness and overall we do our level best to make the cottage and our guests' holidays as enjoyable as possible and our apologies that we were unable to meet all of your specific requirements on this occasion.
