|Minimum Stay||4 - 7 nights|
Completely refurbished in 2013, this stylish villa offers spacious living, a resident’s only private pool and stunning views of the Roussillon coastline. The property is divided into a two story two bedroom villa and a separate self-contained studio apartment. The villa and studio apartment can be either rented separately or together, accommodating a total 6 guests.
Set above the picturesque town of Collioure, which is only a 10 minute walk, this gorgeous part of the south of France has it all from the old town, beaches and waterside activities to the quayside fortified church and royal castle built by the Knights Templar which provides a great contrast to the brightly coloured Catalan boats. The town also boasts an impressive selection of shops, boutiques, galleries, bars, bistros and restaurants, with golf, skiing and vineyards all within the surrounding area.
Collioure sits within the foothills of the Pyrenees; where terraced vineyards plunge down to meet the Mediterranean. It remained under Spanish rule until 1659, today this charming Catalan town not only enjoys an exceptionally sunny climate but the local culture and food reflect its Spanish roots and close proximity to the boarder, which is only 15 miles away.
The immaculate villa is located in a charming development and complemented with all new furnishings and fittings. The two bedroom two story villa includes a fully equipped kitchen to ensure that you can take advantage of the locally available produce - oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, kettle, coffee machine and toaster. Broadband (wifi) has been newly installed for 2014. Open lounge/dining area complete with dining table and chairs for six, sofa, rocking chair, TV area and patio doors leading out to the large terrace which offers spectacular panoramic coastal views, dining facilities for 6 and a built in BBQ. The terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, dinner or a glass of locally produced wine from the nearby wineries; it is equally enjoyable to simply soak up the sun or read a book from the reclining loungers.
The second floor comprises a double bedroom complete with fitted wardrobe, full length mirror, bedside tables and ample lighting, a large twin bedroom with 2 single beds and bathroom with bath/shower, vanity unit, heated towel rail and separate WC. Linens and towels are provided.
The self-contained spacious studio comprises a sleeping area (1 double bed), living/dining area (two seated sofa, TV etc), well appointed kitchen/dinner and separate bathroom. The studio opens onto a small terraced patio and is situated directly below the two bedroom villa.
The private residence pool, situated directly behind the villa, is securely gated and equipped with communal sun-loungers (beach towels are provided within the villa). The photo of the pool shown is before the renovations were carried out in spring 2013. Since this photo was taken the whole area around the pool has been decked, the pool itself has been relined and a new outdoor shower has been installed. The overall transformation is stunning.
The villa is completed with parking and travel high chair and cot, available upon request.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 8 days and were really happy with everything. The Villa is in a great location, is spacious and clean and the location of the pool is very close to the place itself.
Easy access to the town of Collioure and near Port Verde too. Lovely place and would definitely look to stay here again.
Had a fantastic stay at the apartment. It had everything we needed including the all important dishwasher! It had a great view of the sea. The view is part of the entry to the harbour so if you like a nose take some binoculars with you!
We had two 3.5yr old with us who are good at walking distance but am so glad we took two holiday pushchairs with us, the walk down into town is only 10mins maximum but is all uphill on the way back so bare that in mind.
Quiet location with a fantastic swimming pool just behind the apartment. Clean and obviously recently refurbished.
We managed to park directly outside the apartment and left it there all week (after roughly 11hours in the car we were in no hurry to get back in it). But if you don't manage to nab that spot there's ample parking just round the bend.
Carrefour is just a 5min drive into Port Vendres and has everything you need. There are also smaller markets down in the town.
Tips with kids:
Carrefour sells fresh milk - not just the long life stuff, the red top is full fat and my girls drank it no questions asked!
Take a few dishwasher tablets and washing tablets, as the apartment has both.
They have a few games in the cupboard should you need a day at the part, net, old school connect 4 was a favourite.
Take inflatables for non swimmers as the pool is about 1.5m in the 'shallow' bit.
We've been to Coullioure a few times and this part net will definantly be on our list if we return.
We stayed here for 11 days in June 2016, when we arrived we found the apartment and terrace to be quite dirty.
There was no fan or air conditioning, we were given no extra bedding so had to wash and dry the existing bedding during our stay. There was a bloodstain on sheet on twin beds. We had to wash and dry before able to use, we had to sleep in the twin beds as the double room was very small.
We had no change of towels -again had to wash mid stay, as we had booked and paid for two weeks a change of bedding and towels should have been provided. There was no airer to dry clothes, there was a string across the terrace which was knotted and couldn't reach the hook - we bought an airer in the local Lidls. The lighting in the bedroom was very poor, only side lamps and very faint.
There was a large cupboard in the lounge which smelled musty, also the wardrobe in the double bedroom smelled musty and had cobwebs in it. The whole apartment began to smell musty after a week.
Some of the crockery, cutlery and glasses were dirty and had to be washed before use.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and there was no water or basic provisions left which we have always had in any apartment we have rented in France before - we would have expected at least a baguette, cheese, bottle of water and wine.
The apartment was very hard to locate - more detailed instructions would be good
The pool was very nice however there was nowhere to sit by the pool -perhaps a couple of fold up chairs to take to the pool?
Bbq on terrace was filthy as was the shelf and tools around it - not usable
Terrace was filthy - floor and tables and chairs had not been cleaned.
There was a rope handle up the stairs which came clean out of the wall - we mentioned this to the immobilier when we went to pay deposit and they seemed to know - this could have been extremely dangerous as I was holding on to it while climbing the stairs and it came out of the wall !!
Having said all this, we absolutely loved Collioure and will return, just not to this apartment.
Beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean with wonderful view. Highly recommended.
Clean, newly renovated apartment in a quiet neighbourhood, perfect for family with children - if You don't mind walk a few minutes to Get to the beaches or restaurants. The children loved the pool, we loved the view!!!
Known as the gem of the Roussillon coast, Collioure is breathtakingly beautiful day and night. Situated on the Cote Vermeille, this is the last stretch of the Rousillion coast before the Spanish boarder, which is only 15 miles away.
There is much to see and do in Collioure from galleries and local wines to shops, boutiques and a bustling market that visits on Wednesday and Sunday mornings. The area is also well-known for its cuisine, in particular anchovies which are an embedded part of Collioure’s tradition. The town enjoys a fabulous selection of bars, bistros and restaurants, including the Michelin starred La Balette.
Collioure has a number of small coves and several sand and pebble blue flag beaches, which means that during the warm and long summer months, you can safely enjoy a cooling swim.
From April to November, the 'petit train' runs regularly every day between Collioure and Port-Vendres. The route takes in vineyards, castles and monuments as you enjoy the coastline. A particular highlight is Fort St Elme which sits above Collioure and the neighbouring Port Vendres. The Fort was built to protect the area from pirates who patrolled the waters and today offers views that are nothing short of stunning.
Back in Collioure, a further highlight is the 13th century Chateau Royal built by the Knights Templar. It provides a stunning backdrop to the harbour and combined with the natural beauty of Collioure, it has inspired many great artists, both past and present including Picasso, Matisse and Derain.
Car hire recommended to fully explore the area but with the extended range of amenities available in Collioure, which are all within a 10 minute walk and the train which connects Banyuls, Port Vendres and Argeles, it is not essential.

Argelès-sue-Mer - 7km away and stretching across 7km of sandy beach, this bustling resort is centred around the village centre; a funfair for children, a lengthy promenade for walking and many cafes and eateries.
Ski - Famously sunny (over 3000 hours of sunshine and cloudless skies) Fort Remeu lies approximately 115km away. The high altitude resort known as ‘The Queen Resort of the French Pyrenees’ boasts 58km of downhill skiing, over 100km of cross-country skiing, ski lifts starting at 6,000ft and with the largest artificial snow ski domain in Europe, Fort Remeu is especially popular for late-season snow. Fort Remeu provides choices for all levels of skier from baby slopes and ski school to black runs.
