The Treehouse got it's name from its layout - the living quarters are upstairs and the bedrooms are downstairs...so it's like living in a tree house, up in the trees!! Upstairs is an open plan sitting room with glorious day light from all sides which leads out to a large deck in a private garden (which gets the sun all day long)In the sitting room,there is also a sofa bed (Double).The well equipped kitchen / dining area is a great social area, being 'the natural hub of the house'.There is a balcony off the kitchen for 'Al Fresco' dining and it gets great evening sun. There is a great library of books and games and Sky TV. There is also a selection beach equipment such as body boards and picnic gear for use on outings and trips.
Downstairs,there is a twin bedroom, a second twin bedroom with bunk beds, a shower room, laundry closet and storage space under the stairs and a double room with a four poster bed and en suite bathroom, with Double doors leading out into the Garden. There is a gravel drive and old country gates that can be closed for security with a side pedestrian gate for easy access.
The house has oil central heating and all modern mod cons.
We love this area as it is near enough from the City of Cork, but Faraway enough to feel like you are on Holidays.

We have been visiting this area since we were kids in the late 60's and during the 70's and got to know many of the locals with whom we are friends with to this day. We bought this house in 1995 and lived there for 5 years before moving to Fermoy. We have family in the area, so we decided to hold on to the house so that our 4 children could experience the same fun and enjoyment we did at the beaches and woods in the area with their cousins and friends.
We loved the fact that this house was different - the living room /kitchen upstairs and the bedrooms downstairs. That is why we called it the Treehouse, as it's like living up in a tree! And we have a lovely deciduous woods beside us, so we felt the name suited the property. It is newly refurbished, so it is a cosy house, and a home from home which is the way we would like it for visitors as well.
We had a lovely stay at the Treehouse. The apartments looks alike the pictures and was very well equipped. The owner provided us plently of information abou the apartment and the area around. The communication with the owner was easy going as well.
Wonderful home! We really enjoyed our few days there - very peaceful.

Perched on a hill the Treehouse is a cosy comfortable peaceful location to stay, five minutes walk to main street Courtmacsherry and restaurant bars.suitable for families, Its layout was as described with bedrooms downstairs, kitchen cum dining room upstairs to get the most of the sun.It was well maintained and patio at back suitable for lounging. .And it was a good base to go further a field to the villages of Timoleague Rosscarberry and town of Clonakilty and inchadoney beach.It is close to The Michael Collins centre where you could get the intimate life and times of Michael Collins.Should it rain there was enough board games and sky Tv to keep one busy.I would recommend it to my friends.
we stayed for 2 weeks at the wonderful treehouse, we were extremely lucky to get some of the best weather Ireland had seen for years and there are lots of beautiful beaches within a short reach of this property although if the weather had proved a disappointment there are plenty of books, board games etc. to occupy adults as well as children, and with the added benefit of sky tv and wifi the treehouse is the perfect holiday home. Eadaoin is a lovely, warm, welcoming lady and i would most definitely recommend the treehouse to anyone.
The Treehouse...a perfect relaxing getaway for me, my husband and my 5 month old baby! Looking for a mini escape from London, we spent a weekend at the Treehouse. Eadaoin was a fabulous host and knowing that we were short on time (and arriving on a 6 AM flight), left us a fridge full of breakfast goodies and a table full of local maps and activities. The home is located near quite a few gorgeous cliff and beach walks, but is also well stocked with board games and books (for all age groups) if you want to just relax on the house's gorgeous back patio. Courtmacsherry offers a small handful of pubs, but Clonakilty is a brief 10-15 min drive from the house and offers lots of food/drinking options.

There are fantastic walks on the doorstep, around the Seven Heads and the old railway line to Timoleague. There are great beaches nearby at Broadstrand and Dunworley, and Clonakilty is 15 minutes drive away for shopping, exploring,dining and more sandy beaches to enjoy such as Inchydoney.
The Harbour town of Kinsale is a 26km scenic drive along the coast with Stunning views of the Old Head of Kinsale. It is a town that is vibrant with visitors and boasts a great selection Restaurants. It's a great days outing and be sure to explore the Historic Forts gracing the harbour entrance.
Courtmacsherry is famous for it's fishing and its water sports. Bring the family to see the full skeleton of a whale in Kilbrittan which ended up stranded in the bay some years ago.
Visit the Country market in Clonakilty on a Saturday morning for the best of local fresh produce.
A trip to see the birth place of Henry Ford, the famous car manufacturer, in Ballinascarthy is another must.
Courtmacsherry is a convenient 'gateway' to the rest of West Cork and a handy base from which to go on day trips,to explore the beautiful and diverse West Cork countryside
