Access the deck through sliding glass doors, and enjoy the two Adirondack rockers just a stones throw from the stream. A bistro patio table and two chairs completes the deck for summer relaxation. The stream has wonderful small pools the size of a large hot tub to relax in on hot summer days. The maple kitchen is fully equipped and ready for meal preparation. There is a full sized stove with oven, dishwasher, full sized refrigerator, toaster, coffeemaker and microwave. There is plenty of pots and pans, a crock pot and china for your group. The cabin features two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a maple queen size bed and two antique dressers and the second bedroom has a double maple bed and a tall antique chest on chest dresser. We have added a stackable front loading washer/dryer for your convenience.

The cabin is comfortably furnished with lodge style furniture and comes ready for use with all linens provided for the two bedrooms and bath. Please bring sleeping bags for the loft. There is a paddle fan in both the living room and the master bedroom for a cool breeze in the summer or to circulate the warmth from the gas woodstove in the great room during the winter months. We do install a window air conditioner in summer for the rare day that it gets too stays quite cool next to the stream.

The surrounding area: Bethel Village is located in the western lakes and mountain region of Maine. The mighty Androscoggin River weaves its way through the fertile river valley offering beautiful scenery throughout the year. Each season brings spectacular views up and down the river to the Mahoosuc Mountain Range. We are only a short 1/2 hour drive to Mount Washington and the Presidential Mountains of New Hampshire. The surrounding area is dotted with lakes and streams and there are many waterfalls, swimming holes and covered bridges in the immediate area. Bring your kayak or your bikes and enjoy every thing Bethel has to offer in summer. If you are looking for a winter get-away, pack your skis and your snowshoes. Winter sports in Western Maine are the best in New England!

hings to do: Where to start! Of course there is skiing and golf, but that is only the beginning. Summer activities include; golf, swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, antiqueing, bird watching, rock hounding, hiking, biking, horse back riding and fishing. There is a cinema and adventure park with a water slide, mini golf and a fun laser tag. In the fall there is also excellant foliage to add to the summer activities. There are 7 golf courses witin a 1/2 hour drive of Bethel, including The Bethel Inn and Country club in the village and the new course at Sunday River with its fantastic scenic mountain views. The winter brings several attractions. There is downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, snow shoeing, winter climbing and snow tubing. About Scott Gould

We started Androscoggin Home Rentals 20 years ago. We own and manage our three waterfront properties in the Sunday River area. Ten years ago, we opened our Bed & Breakfast, Bethel Hill B&B. We enjoy people and love to provide a great Maine lodging experience for our clients. We live right here in Bethel, at our B&B, so you can be assured that you can easily reach us and get prompt answers to your questions and immediate help should you need it. Scott is a builder with an eye for quality workmanship, and Carol has a good sense of color and design. Together, we have designed and renovated some nice properties with great location. We keep them in excellent repair and update our linens and furnishings regularly. A clean house is very important to us and we can assure you that you won't be disappointed with our housekeeping!

We want you to love your vacation!

Why Scott Gould chose Bethel - Sunday River area

In one word...Location! The Western Maine Mountains have the best of everything you would want for your vacation! Rural enough to feel like you got away from it all, but close to (almost) everything you need. The winter recreation here is world class. Sunday River Ski Resort with 8 peaks and 137 trails connected with a phenomenal lift system can have you skiing for days without seeing the same terrain twice. Black Mt and Mt Abram are both affordable family style ski areas that can stretch your vacation dollar. Other winter sports like Nordic skiing, winter hiking and snowshoeing can be done from our doorstep. The summer in Maine is a special time, which is why our properties are all waterfront. There is nothing like roasting a marshmallow over the campfire, the moonlight shimmering on the water, listening to the peepers and the wind rustling in the trees. We are lucky enough to live here and happy to share our special lifestyle with you and your loved ones. Make some memories!

What makes this house unique

Feels remote but enjoys easy access to Bethel and the village amenities.

Our family stayed this fabulous River house for the summer vacation. This house is so private and perfect for family reunion. We played Golf, hiking, swimming, and barbecuing every night.

The sound of stream was leading us to another step of pleasure and calmness. It is hard to describe the peaceful environment. Thank you

The perfect get-away -- peaceful, beautiful!

This setting is absolutely picturesque. The beautiful brook is only steps away from the cabin, offering nature's soothing rippling music as backdrop to a cozy (and very clean!) house. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped. The property was easily accessible, not far from the highway, but secluded. We were quite close to Bethel and also an easy drive to N. Conway. The property is just minutes away from Grafton Notch, which is breath-taking. Everything was perfect! Loved our stay! We will definitely try to come here again.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at your very special River House. The stream was generous and fantastic. Firepit lots of fun.

The house is enchanting with beautiful decorations. Surrounding activities in the area kept us busy and we got lots of healthy exercise hiking on several of many available trails. Table Rock is a must for breathtaking views.

The drive around the area availed us to outstanding scenic views of an awesome mountain landscape.

Mt. Blue was especially good for swimming and reasonable boat rentals, along with beautiful mountains.

The hospitable charm of the local people was abundant and touching, really creating a most welcoming feeling. Anyone visiting must sample the fantastic cuisine in Bethal's village as well.

The River House is serene, poetic, and romantic. Quiet, peaceful, and one of a kind.

Thank you for one terrific vacation paradise!

Lisa, Steve and the kids.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the River House. After a hard day hiking, climbing, kayaking or playing bocce at Sunday River Brewing, recovering on the deck of the River House was the perfect end to the day. The house was like a home for us. We will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks much to Scott and Carol for their hospitality.

Just steps away from our deck you will find a babbling mountain stream with deep pools to relax in on hot summer days. Up the street only a half mile is pristine Howard Pond with a lovely town beach area that is yours to enjoy. At the lower end of the road is a state boat launch to the Androscoggin River which is an as yet undiscovered canoe and kayakers paradise, wild enough that you will see bald eagles, moose and lots of other wildlife. Fishing is superb in the area and there is hiking in the Mahoosucs as well as the nearby White Mountains. Golf, antiqueing, and rock hounding are just a few things to do in the area around the quintessential village of Bethel Maine.
