Apartment Golf Mar is located between two of the best blue flag beaches in the Costa Brava, which are ideal for children. L 'escala is an ideal base for all holidays from beaches to local forest walks..There are many nationalities in L'Escala giving a diverse and excellent choice of restaurants, tapas and bars. If you can drag yourself away from the apartment. The apartment is home from home with beds fully made up towels and beach towels provided. The kitchen has a full sized oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave , so there is no need to eat out or just a stroll to the local woods for a picnic in the is a excellent menu of the day restaurant 5 min walk away at 10 Euro for a 3 course meal, wine , apartment is in a quiet ideal place for families as well as couples

There are 2 balconies to eat or have a drink on following the sun or shade as required. This is a larger than normal 2 bed apartment with plenty of space, ideal for families or 2 couples.

About L'Escala: In summer the town becomes bustling but not at all rowdy. The absence of any high-rise buildings gives it a bright and friendly atmosphere. Its geographical position makes it an ideal base for travelling further a field. Nearby Figueres was home to the famous artist Salvador Dali. Then there are the 'Villages Typiques' just north of the border near Perpignan. To the south there is the provincial capital of Gerona and the capital of Catalonia - Barcelona. To the west is the lake at Banyoles, Ripoll, duty free Andorra and the snow-capped Pyrenees with skiing for many months of the year. 2km north lays the walled medieval village of St. Marti with its pleasant Plaza Major, many bistros and pretty church and museum.

Car hire available. Taxis to and from the above airports can be arranged.

Great Apartment

My Gil friend and her 8 year old son stayed in the apartment in August 2008. The apartment is well equipped and in very nice condition. The location is really good too, just a 15 minute walk from the beach at Montgo or a 20 minute walk from Riells beach. The apartments and pool area never seemed crowded or busy. Just a lovely location for a peaceful holiday. The local agent was really helpful too!! 10 out of 10 for everything.

Limpia, bien equipada, amplia, en entorno exelente

Todo muy limpio, muy bien equipada con una nevera que enfriaba muy bien, espacios amplios y correctos para niños , aire cruzado y fresca, luminosa. Situada en un entorno silencioso, al lado de un parque natural donde se accede a pie por senderos muy lindos, y de facil acceso al puerto y al Mongo. La piscina impecable. Noches muy silenciosas , camas comodas, toallones de aseo y de playa para todos. Muy comodo!!

Puntos negativos: muchas hormigas en la cocina, hay que dejar limpio todo y el colgador de ropa un poco arruinado y roto. Es tiempo de cambiarlo!!

Great apartment in a lovely place.

We had a really delightful holiday at Golf Mar. Lovely apartment, loved Spain, L'Escala and wonderful weather too.

Property description was very accurate in all respects, although I felt it was nicer than the photos suggested. Also only a few books and games available. It was a practical apartment too, for us as a family, although it would work well for couples and different age groups. The two balconies meant you could eat on whichever one was the coolest! Very useful to have a washing machine and a good size fridge, although as described the kitchen area is not huge, but adequate. The Property was clean and well maintained, the manager was friendly on arrival and gave us some helpful information. All the finances went through easily enough and it helped with budgeting that sheets, towels and other cost were all included, unlike many of the other places we considered booking.

The location was in a quiet part of L'Escala, which was what we wanted. We enjoyed the pool, which is heart shaped and just big enough for a pleasant dip. Choose your time and you could have it to yourselves. it was quite well used but not usually particularly busy. It was a short walk to the nearest beach, but we ended up with lots of stuff to carry with all the kids' gear and a picnic, so we tended to go to the nicer beaches near the old town. Even there, in peak season, we were surprised to find parking easy enough and often in the shade. Beaches were great for my family to snorkel and play in the sand, while I enjoyed pleasant strolls along the front, parts of which were in the shade. It was a busy resort but without roads directly on the seafront, it remained lively rather than crowded. We loved walking along by the town beach at night, lots to see and it felt safe and fun. Lots of restaurants but we are vegetarian so limited on choice, although people in the restaurants were friendly and helpful. The weather was pretty much perfect when we were there, yes very warm but not usually unbearable and perfect evening temperatures. The apartment is air-conditioned so that helped too if you wanted a break from the heat.

Our only negative is we only stayed a week (after a leisurely drive through France) and two weeks would have been much better as we would have had more chance to go further afield.

If you want a spot away from the busier more modern resorts and an apartment slightly off the main trail, this would fit the bill perfectly. Hope to go back!

Near Southampton

Brilliant holiday!

We loved staying at Golf Mar! The appartment was clean and comfortable and with enough space for all four of us. The air con made us comfortable in the hot weather and we all enjoyed the pool. Good location, right next to tyhe woods and within walking distance of town centre. We hope to return!

Great value for money apartment.

A very spacious and modern apartment in a very quiet setting. It suited my husband and I, but the pool area was a little too quiet for our 11 year old daughter so we spent most days on the beach. You would really need a car here but we did walk into town most nights.

The apartment was very clean and well equipped. The fact that it had a washing machine should be mentioned in the details as a lot of people would want that on holiday. What a bonus to have beach towels provided.

Steve was most helpful and was on call if needed which is very reassuring. We visit L'Escala regularly and would definitely stay in this apartment again and recommend it to friends.

A great apartment, all facilities exactly as described. It was definitely a bonus having the two balconies and the air-con. Another bonus was a washing machine. Apartment very clean and well presented. Local agent Steve also helpful and informative. We had an lovely peaceful holiday in really good surroundings.

The Spanish seaside village of L'Escala is situated on the Mediterranean, 50km south of the French-Spanish border and 140km north of Barcelona. Refundable damage deposit $246.12
Pet Fee $0
Stay tax $1.11 per night, per person. This amount will be due to the manager upon arrival. Does not apply to children under 16 years.

Properties are available from 16:00 hrs on the day of arrival. If you arrive before that time you can contact us to see if the property will be available earlier than 16:00

Properties are required to be vacated at 10:00 hrs on the day of departure.

You will find our property clean and in good order on arrival.

You must therefore leave it clean and in good order, at the end of your stay.

The property that you have rented is a privately owned property. It represents a considerable financial investment and in some cases is the owners own home. We ask you to be mindful of this during your stay and to treat the property and its contents with care and respect.

On arrival, If you find a problem with the property or its contents, YOU must report this to us as soonas possible or you may be held responsible.

The mandatory security/cleaning bond of €200 Euros is not included in the rental price. This will be added to the invoice during or after the initial reservation request.

You will need to pay the bond within the normal payment conditions, The bond will be refunded within 7 working days of departure by bank transfer/Credit Card or PayPal and provided the property is in good condition and clean and /or deducting the expenses in case of repair or replacement of broken items ,damaged or missing and extra hours of cleaning.

You are responsible for damages that exceed the amount of the €200 Euros bond . We advise you to contact us in case of damages which you caused.

Any additional cleaning required as a result of the property not being left in good order will be charged at €25 Euros per hour and will be deducted from the Bond Payment.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
