Lovely, well equipped villa, with access to large family friendly pool.
The villa lies within a secure complex with access to two pools (one is a kids pool) and a reception with safety deposit boxes which we never used. It has a gated entrance and feels very safe.
The villa was lovely and homely and was well equipped with everything you could need for a family holiday. We had to use the sofa bed in the living room for our third child, however it was easy to operate and fold away when not in use. The rooms are not large but for all the time which is spent indoors they are more than adequate. The kitchen is well stocked should you wish to cook and the villa has been thoughtfully decorated.
Our kids loved the two pools which are shallow enough for young kids to play safely and deep enough at the deeper end for adults to dive. There is the added benefit of a lifeguard. The only downside is that the pool can't be used until 11am which is not ideal when you have young children who are desperate to get there early and make the most of the morning before it gets too hot, however that was only a minor irritation. There is a bar/cafe next to the pool although we only used it once as it was over priced for the food on offer which was basic and a bit uninspiring.
There are a couple restaurants nearby, we used one for a takeaway paella one night (which came in the paella pan, subject to a deposit, which is a bit different from the plastic boxes of home!). We went out most nights and took the local bus which stops about a 5/10 minute walk from the complex and runs until 11pm at night. It cost 1.50 euros one way. The bus stops at the popular Arenal beach where there are lots of shops and restaurants catering for all tastes and market stalls in the evening for shopping. It is lively and great for people watching. We also took the bus further along to the other end of the beach and again there are plenty of places to eat. It wouldn't take long to to Arenal but the bus was better with smaller children and the road could be quite dark at night as it's not very well lit in places.
We visited La Granadella beach which is accessed by car down a windy road which is pebbly and good for snorkelling but it gets very busy and parking is tricky unless you get there quite early in the morning. We also visited the market which is held in the old town on a Thursday morning which the kids enjoyed. We took a drive one afternoon to Denia which also has a nice beach and the drive has lovely views.
We would definitely recommend this villa.
This a lovely villa, the photos don't do it justice. Lovely location, friendly staff. No need to hire a car as public transport every 30 mins from just outside the complex. Excellent location. Would recommend to couples and families alike. Definitely will be returning this year.
Very satisfied customer
First visit here, on recommendation from a friend. Local resident arranged transportation from airport, which took approx. 1 hour, in an air conditioned car - giving me time to enjoy the scenery en route.
On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find a very clean, welcoming villa with all you could want there. Lovely outside balcony provided welcome shade during the day, for lunch or reading or simply sitting with a glass of vino!
Shop; bar & local bus service all great and made our stay all the easier. The Arenal (local beach) has got every bar and restaurant you could want - even the fussiest eater in our party was easy to accommodate.
Highly recommend a stay here, lovely owner who made us feel very at home from the start.
Spotlessly clean, well-maintained villa, which is a cosy home from home. Excellent complex; beautiful pool; friendly bar & well stocked on-site shop. Fantastic local bus service available right outside the gate, regular and reliable, which gets you to the Port & the Old Town as well as the rocky beach. Easy walking distance to The Arenal, where you'll find every selection of bar/restaurant you could want & a lovely sandy beach to boot.
Very friendly, accommodating owner who made booking a pleasure. Lots of toiletries available for free use and very well equipped kitchen - no need to eat out at all if you don't wish to.
Secure, safe complex - would feel very safe as a lone female traveller here. All in all, 10 out of 10. No problem getting a sun bed, even in high season. Will definitely re-book for 2014!
Fantastic villa, already booked again next year
Had a brilliant time at the villa, was a perfect size for us. Walking distance to local bars and beach, or a bus which goes every 10 mins. The pool is massive, kids love it.
The villa itself is very comfortable, and has everything from all your toiletries to kitchen amenities. The balcony is perfect for outside dining.
Would highly recommend this to singles, couples or families alike. Going back next year!!!
Javea is the jewel on the northern Costa Blanca, it still functions as a fishing port with the boats leaving every day and returning with their catch. Alongside the rag tag fleet of fishing vessels can be found the multi million Euro yachts and family pleasure cruisers all moored in the famous port area below Puchol’s grand villas. Javea has 3 separate distinct stretches of coastline and is very much a lived in area which is popular with visitors and holiday villa seekers. Views across the bay are spectacular. Playa de l’Arenal is Javea's most famous (but not only) tourist beach area. It is a dreamy setting stretching no more than 300m from the well located Parador hotel in the north as far as the bargain food restaurant of Scallops in the south. The Arenal is home to every type of café bar and restaurant which are set back from the wide promenade and beach, but not home to any of the hi rise blocks associated with Benidorm or Calpe. With views across the bay and a family chilled out atmosphere this is the perfect beach holiday get away. With fine, golden sand and amenities such as volleyball nets along the back of the beach which are popular later in the day and plenty play areas for the kids; this is safe and exciting for all the family Scuba diving in Javea is highly recommended and there's no end of dive shops offering introductory dives and PADI courses, the bay in and around Portixol is a favourite amongst divers in the area. The Costa Blanca has more than 13 golf courses including the championship La Sella course, on C/ Jesus Pobre. There are sailing opportunities available from the Javea port. There are a number of horse riding schools in and around Javea and excellent bike rides. There are also some great walking routes around Javea and if you are interested in doing some walking you should ask in the Tourist Information office for the booklet 'Nature Parks and Trekking Routes'. A must do walk if you can cope with the heat during the summer months is to climb the Montgo, there are various routes to suit all fitness and age groups with the shortest being about 2 hours round trip, up to the 8 hr full traverse for those of a more adventurous bent.
