Quiet & relaxing
We had a lovely time at this cottage. It's close enough to the towns for dinners out, groceries and "touristy" activities yet, still so peaceful on the shores of Lake Michigan. We would stay again in a heartbeat.
The screened in porch, decks and beach area are fantastic. We saw multiple bald eagles and 2 - 4 trumpeter swans feeding every evening.
The bathroom looks to be recently re-done, the living room is quite large with really comfortable furniture. We spent most of our time at the cottage and cooked quite a bit. Some of the kitchen equipment is a bit worn but we certainly made due. The master bedroom is a decent size and the second bedroom is quite large. Both bedrooms have nice sized closets and with the porch and garage there was more than enough space to store the gear we brought.
We strive to create a fabulous vacation experience, and value that you would return 'in a heartbeat'. While the dish ware and cups and glasses are new, we identified a few baking items that were worn and have now been replaced.
Thank you for your kind comments about your stay!
I was referring a friend to this beautiful rental and realized I did not write a review. This is the cleanest rental I have ever stayed in. Owners were so nice and quick to respond, they even left us a gift for our anniversary and a gift for our dog. The views were stunning, deck amazing!! I would stay here again and again. Our dog loved it and had so much fun. I knew the place was clean when we walked in, because our dog was relaxed and not sniffing around. You do not want to miss this spot!!!
Gorgeous sunsets, peaceful setting
We absolutely love this place. Beautiful views from both the deck and the house. Comfortable ‘up north’ home. This place suits those who want to get away from chaos of everyday life but it also is very close to town and many activities for those who seek adventure. We enjoyed endless beach walks, s’mores at our private camp fire on the beach and of course magnificent sun sets. We have been visiting this 'home away from home' for over 11 years and love it more every time we come. Owners are wonderful people and ‘Basket of goodies’ makes you feel welcomed the moment you set your foot in the house. We cannot wait to be back next year.
If you are looking for a perfect location, this is it--located right on Lake Michigan with a private, pristine beach and shoreline. We absolutely love the view from the deck. We have stayed here several times and the house is spotless. We take our day trips to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinaw, Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, wineries, etc. from here--all doable within a day from this location. We always take our little doggie with us and we find that northern Michigan is very dog friendly in allowing dogs to shop with us and sitting outdoors at restaurants. We really enjoyed our firepit fires every evening, as we watched the perfect sunset! Thanks, Karey!
Relaxing, comfortable, clean, perfect
This was our second visit to this cottage and once again we were not disappointed. The best part about a repeat visit is the feeling of going home. We knew exactly what to expect. We chose this cottage a second time because it met our needs and desires perfectly the first time. The house is very well maintained is very clean. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed for a week's stay. The decks are a wonderful way to start the day and watch the world wake up along the water. And an even better way to end the day watching beautiful sunsets. The shoreline is perfect for avid rock hunters. There's enough beach to satisfy our children and those of us who enjoy lounging in the sand with a book. The cottage is secluded enough to really feel like you're away, but the neighbors we met while there were warm and welcoming. Driving into town is very easy and quick too.
The amenities are a nice addition and in well working order. Although we couldn't figure out how to work the TV/satellite service. But that was a blessing in that we could all spend our nights reading or playing games. We did watch a movie one night from the DVD player.
We had a great drive over to Sleeping Bear dunes one day and enjoyed some time in Leland. Most of our trip this year we wanted to dedicate to art fairs and galleries. We spent time in Charlevoix, Petoskey and Harbor Springs. We always enjoy eating at the Village Pub in Charlevoix. We also went to Kelsey's one night. We got ice cream at Kilwins, which is always good.
We're hoping for another visit next year. The homeowners are wonderful to work with and really provide a top-rate vacation destination. We have been very happy and more than satisfied with our experience at this cottage and in that location. We recommend to our family and friends.
We loved this house. It was perfect. The deck was fantastic and gave us the best sunsets every single night. The screened in porch was ideal once those bugs came out. The small cove that you had access too was perfect for launching kayaks and canoes and the neighbors seemed friendly where they didn't mind if we were swimming in that area too. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone and stay here again ourselves!
