One of a group of 3 exclusive detached villas in a peaceful location easily reached from the main Rhodes-Lindos road. The villa sits on a hillside with spectacular panoramic views including the famous Tsambika beach and monastery and a broad expanse of blue Aegean Sea.
It is a newly built, well appointed and impressive property, tastefully furnished and styled in modern design and with a heated swimming pool. The ground floor comprises a spacious open plan living and dining area and a double bedroom with bathroom. The spiral marble staircase leads to the second floor where there is the large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and two twin bedrooms served by a family bathroom. All rooms open onto balconies, decking or patios with sea views. The villa is fully air conditioned. The kitchen is equipped with a full range of modern appliances. There is large screen satellite TV system with hundreds of channels including all major UK channels and movies on demand, Bluray/DVD, AppleTV and games console. A mobile phone and unlimited wireless internet are available for guest use.
The villa is set on a three quarter acre plot with spacious private gardens featuring olive, citrus fruit and conifer trees and a variety of shrubs and a small established pine wood. There is a large, private heated infinity swimming pool (heated pools are rare on the island of Rhodes) with spacious tiled sun decks equipped with plenty of sunbeds, chairs and sun umbrellas. There is a BBQ and pagoda. Two large granite tables provide the option of fine dining either in the shade of the pagoda or the decking. There is parking space for up to 3 cars.
The location of the villa, midway along the popular east coast, could not be better to fully enjoy the island. The famous Tsambika beach is a short drive down the hill (or walk for the more adventurous); this is widely regarded as the best on the island with a kilometre of golden sand fully equipped with beach facilities and water sports. This is overlooked by the spectacular and historic hilltop Tsambika monastery. There are numerous local tavernas. The Panorama Restaurant, with its spectacular views of Tsambika beach and monastery, is only 10 minutes walk away. Rhodes Town is 25 minutes drive with its famous medieval walled old town and picturesque harbour. The beautiful village of Lindos is 20 minutes drive in the opposite direction. The local town of Archangelos is 5 minutes drive and offers a full range of shops and facilities. The airport is 30 minutes drive. Other picturesque beach resorts within easy reach include Haraki, Stegna and Kolymbia. There is easy access to the beautiful central mountain region with its tiny villages clinging to the hillsides. An 18 hole golf course is 10 minutes away.
A car is considered essential to fully enjoy a holiday at the villa.
Recently completed, we are now proud to offer the villa on a self catering basis for others to enjoy for parts of the year when we are not enjoying it ourselves.. It is ideal for couples, families or groups of friends.
The heated infinity pool is 9m x 5m (much bigger than most private villa pools) and plenty large enough to swim properly in.
Unlike most villas, which are very close to their neighbours (almost semi-detached in many cases) ours is set in genuinely expansive gardens. There are fabulous views of Tsampika beach and monastery.
The location is, in our opinion, the best in the island, within easy reach of both Rhodes Town and Lindos. The villa overlooks the fabulous Tsampika beach (a kilometre of golden sand) and is in the immediate vicinity of the lovely coastal villages of Archangelos-Stegna and Haraki. There is an excellent taverna within comfortable walking distance and many others close by.
The villa is superbly well furnished and equipped throughout. This is unusual for rental villas which are often equipped with very basic “packages” (cheap towels and fragmented sets of crockery). Not least because the owners spend a very significant amount of time at the villa, ours is equipped to a luxurious standard from the kitchen (right down to the champagne flutes) to the bedding (Egyptian cotton) to the towels (Christie or PRL). The entertainment system (40 inch flat screen, Internet, BluRay and X-Box360) has recently been upgraded with a TV package that features all major UK and European TV channels (including Sky Sports and Sky Movies).
The owners go to huge trouble, helped by our friends on the island, who look after the villa on a week by week basis, to look after all our guests. Every person who has visited the villa has come back genuinely delighted by their stay. A very high proportion of our guests make return visits.
Rhodes is a fabulous island to visit. Tourism on the island was entirely unaffected throughout the recent economic crisis. Rhodes has been untouched by the migrant situation which has sadly afflicted some other Greek islands.
Lovely villa and immaculate pool. We chose this villa because of the pool and we weren't disappointed - it was the most immaculate pool we've ever had. The only thing that could have improved it would have been if the pool had been heated, as believe it or not, it's a bit chilly in September! But, it was perfect for cooling off in during the heat of the day. The privacy afforded by the mature gardens and spectacular views of the sea were also perfect for us. David and Elaine who look after the property for the owners were lovely and couldn't be more responsive or helpful. It was also nice to speak to the owners before we went and the information they provided about local amenities was really useful.
My brother joined us for a few days and was really impressed at how easy it would be to bring his children out here for a holiday - he thought that it would be much easier to keep an eye on them whilst they played in the pool here, rather than at a resort, and they could use the villa as a safe base from which to enjoy the many activities available for days out. He's already planning to bring his family out here together with friends next year!
Overall, it was a lovely place to relax in and is in the best area in Rhodes in our opinion (not too far from the airport, on the Mediterranean side of the island, near great beaches and really good tavernas). The other thing that could have improved our experience would have been a welcome pack, such as bottled water, tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, cheese, like you get at other villas of similar quality, especially after travelling for twelve hours to get there only to find out we've got to get back in the car and drive ten minutes to the nearest supermarket to get refreshments. So, our advice is to call at a supermarket on your way to the villa - that's what we'll be doing next time!
We had a lovely stay in late August to September 2016. The villa is located on a hill and has beautiful views of the surrounding hills, the beach and sea. The journey up the twisting private road up to the villa was an experience especially on the first night, in the dark with a fully loaded 9 seater mini-van! The villa is in a good location and within easy driving distance to Rhodes Town, Lindos and the airport. We made trips to Haraki and Maria's taverna for dinner and Tsampika and Agathi beaches, both beautiful.
Thank you to the owner Patricia who very kindly arranged a very late dinner on our arrival night at the local Panorama restaurant.
The villa's outdoor space is lovely, although some bushes could do with a trim to enable you to enjoy the landscape more. The living space and kitchen could be slightly larger given that we were 7 adults and 3 kids, but it was sufficient. Patricia's red folder - 'The Bible' was very helpful, providing directions and suggestions. I would say its worth driving to Lidl, which is about 25-30 mins drive towards Rhodes town, as this is far cheaper than other supermarkets. The other supermarket near Afandou is also well stocked.
Lovely weather and lovely private villa with breathtaking views. I would definately recommend.
This villa is perfect for a peaceful holiday in a stunning location with plenty to see and do within reach by car. It is really well equipped and the owner extremely helpful. I would recommend this villa to anyone and everyone.
Perfect peace and quite for a family of 7 adults keen to relax and frequently cool off in the pool. With 2 hire cars access to other activities and restaurants was easy and all the recommendations that we tried out were ideal.
We stayed for 6 nights at the villa and could easily have put in another 6 nights..
The view was every bit as beautiful as it was in the photos. The pool was excellent with kids; deep at one end to allow jumping and proper swimming, shallow from the other end to allow for the 3-year-old to safely enjoy it. The garden was very well established. Yes, there were some bees around but although one of us is allergic they didn't make any trouble.
The house was spacious enough to fit even more people, but we were only 5. If we had had the house full the only limitations might have been the kitchen table; it seats 5 people easily but I doubt that 9 would have fit. However, there are places (sunbeds, tables, patios) in the garden that I never even had time to explore > for sure 9+ people could find their place easily when extending to the garden.
We never ran out of hot water, never had any issues with air-conditioning. Very easy washing machine and dish washer. The villa was located in a very quiet spot. Quiet (and few) neighbours with nobody watching you, unless you count the goats living in a nearby lot. (we loved them!)
Excellent location for seightseeing, definitely recommend the sights nearby, Haraki beach, sandy beach of Tsampika or Agathi, and a drive down the west coast.
We can warmly recommend the house from all aspects. This was the first time we rented a house and I was truly surprised that the owners were SO extremely helpful. We had numerous phone calls with them, and the service was excellent from the beginning to the end!
