Delightful 3 Bed Property In Popular Holiday Complex With Outstanding Scenery

This wonderful apartment is well located in one of the area’s most sought after developments. The gorgeous hillside setting offers impressive views over the both the beautifully formed bay of Sao Martinho and the Atlantic Ocean. Facilities at the complex are extensive and particularly suited to family holidays. A choice of three outdoor swimming pools are available to help you cool off from the radiant Portuguese sunshine. The kids will love the mini golf course and no doubt get a lot of use from the basketball hoops, tennis court and ping pong table. Parents might enjoy the squash courts, or have a game of pool. Wireless broadband is available free of charge in the communal areas.

Sleeping accommodation is spacious and practical. 3 well proportioned bedrooms offer two double beds and two single beds. Very spacious property in a perfect position

Very relaxing stay in a spacious property with amazing views of the coastline. Facilities were also mostly excellent with 3 very clean swimming pools, reasonable tennis court and good Wifi. The crazy golf was fun but needs a little bit of repair, similarly the pool table and cues were rather poor. 15 minutes walk from the beachfront with so many great restaurants was fantastic, but supermarket is not walkable so car or taxi is required for that. This was a lovely holiday in an unspoilt part of Portugal, very quiet, good quality & value eating out and non of the tourist rubbish like all day English breakfasts & loud bars/clubs so perfect for us. We would come back

Sao Martinho Do Porto : Retaining it's Portuguese charm and character, Sao Martinho do Porto is a remarkably picturesque seaside town. The town is built around the sheltered bay that provides for safe bathing away from the strong Atlantic currents. The bay also benefits from warmer waters thanks to to its sheltered location. There are life guards on the beach during the summer and the beach is cleaned most days showing off its beautiful iridescent silver sand which is where the area gets its name. Surrounding the bay there are numerous cafes and restaurants where the majority of the food on offer is typical Portuguese (superb seafood) though there is also a very good Italian & also a Swiss restaurant along the front of the bay too. In the surrounding area a number of excellent golf courses have been built, and more are planned.

Climate & vicinity: Sao Martinho do Porto enjoys an idyllic climate that tends not to reach oppressive extremes of hot or cold. Daytime temperatures mid-summer tend to range between 26ºC and 34ºC. Mid-winter daytime temperatures typically range between 14ºC and 18ºC.

Within the vicinity of Sao Martinho is the beautiful historic town Obidos (approximately 15-20 min drive) and the Obidos lagoon. Figueira da Foz is located about 10 min drive from Sao Martinho, it overlooks the Obidos lagoon (the largest lagoon in Europe) and similarly to Sao Martinho it provides safe bathing away. Sao Martinho's neighbouring town is called Nazare , it is a typical Portuguese seaside town which offers a good number of cafes, bars and excellent restaurants.

The Silver Coast has managed to avoid the over development and crass commercialisation of Portugal’s major tourist resorts. It’s beauty and charm has therefore gone undiscovered amongst visitors from Europe, but has always been popular with the Portuguese. The soft, sandy beaches on the Atlantic coastline are cherished by the local population and provide welcome relief from the bustle of city life.

As well as fabulous beaches the region is also home to some beautifully preserved medieval architecture, including a UNESCO world heritage site at Sintra. Small villages and towns like Alcobaca have retained much of their rustic charm despite the onward march of progress and it is a genuinely pleasant experience to spend time exploring this part of the world.
