Fantastic stay in an oasis of calm
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful part of Spain. If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature Max and Ana's place in Teixidiello is a perfect choice. The drive up the valley is worth it (although we would recommend hiring a car with reasonable clearance as it's a little stoney in places) and once on the motorway you are in a great location to access some of the stunning beaches and quaint towns on this stretch of the coast. The view from the apartment is incredible and the apartment itself has been refurbished with great attention to detail. The surrounding grounds - garden, picnic and BBQ spots, hammock - are also a delight. Thanks for such a great stay!
Thanks Sarah and Ben. Good luck.
The house is large well appointed in a lovely village with nice views
The property is in a very beautiful setting with views all around. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Max and Ana were very friendly and helpful during the whole of our stay. There are walks all around and are easily accessible. The village has a couple of bars, a cafe and a shop to buy essentials and there is a well stocked supermarket nearby. The beaches are beautiful and easy to get to and parking is not a problem. We thoroughly enjoyed are stay and would recommend it to friends/relatives. Thank you Max and Ana
Mike , Fiona , thank you very much for the comment , it has been a pleasure to have you with us , we hope to someday meet again , our best wishes.
Little Piece of Heaven
We stayed here in spring 2009. The cottage was perfect - very comfortable, well equipped, and decorated with the hand of an artist. It is set in a heavenly location, with splendid views. Ana and Max are wonderful hosts, allowing their guests privacy while being friendly and helpful whenever they are needed.
Peaceful mountain getaway
My husband and I wanted a secluded getaway from our hectic lives in the city and found it. The cottage is exactly as described/pictured and one can see the love and hard work that Ana and Max put into the restoration. Our favorite part was waking up to unrivaled views of the mountains and ocean from the rows of windows in the bedroom. We spent most days reading books, taking naps in the hammock, grilling feasts, and star gazing for hours. When we ran out of food, we made excursions out of visiting the local fishing villages, eating great seafood lunches, and searching out beautiful cheeses and sidra from the area. We had an amazing vacation and a big part of it was due to Ana and Max. They were always available if we had any questions or needed help (like when our car battery died). We will definitely come back again in the future and would highly recommend the property to anyone.
A wonderful mountain retreat
My partner and I spent an unforgettable, romantic week in this beautifully restored hamlet of Teixidiello, which is in a fantastic location, half an hour from the airport and near to some beautiful beaches. The village is approached along a winding mountain road and forest trail, which is well worth the effort, because the reward is seclusion and spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and sea. The cottage itself is wonderfully equipped with a comfortable and spacious bedroom upstairs and an excellent shower room and cosy sitting room/kitchen downstairs. The cottage has been restored, equipped and furnished with an eye for detail by Max and Ana, the couple who have overseen the whole project. There are many places to sit outside, both by the cottage itself and in communal areas that have been provided. Here one can watch the sunset, dine al fresco or sit under the stars. At night we would go to sleep with the sound of owls hooting and stags bellowing nearby. Max and Ana, who live in Teixidiello, were wonderful hosts, incredibly helpful, for example in recommending restaurants or places to visit, but always respectful of our privacy. We will certainly be going back there one day.
We encourage you to enjoy the natural surroundings of Teixidiello, accomplishing walking routes, bird and animal watching, plant collecting or sunbathing. However, when the need arises, in fifteen minutes you can find sandy beaches, local restaurants and shops. Luarca Cudillero are the closest port cities and each one offers different activities, opportunities of dining and shopping. San Martin is the first point of contact as you come down from the mountain and there are two good restaurants, bakery, pharmacy, doctor, petrol station (diesel) and post office.Traditional market day in San Martin is Tuesday until 13:00 h. Train passes by San Martin 4 times a day and can be a fun alternative to the car, especially to go to Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés
