We stayed in Villa Raposeira with 3 adults. Very clean, quiet, secluded villa on the property of Paula and het family. Paula helped us with every question and brought fresh bread every morning. The fridge was filled when we arrived which was more than we expected. Lovely house with all necessary equipment and nice pool and lounge area. Thanks Paula for our great holiday in your home and if we return to Portugal we will sure book again. Love, Jaco, Natalie and Katinka
We’ve had a very relaxing holiday at Casa Raposeira and would love to plan another holiday here.
A little piece of paradise in Douro
My husband and I stayed at Casa da Reposeira for 6 days in July and we didn't want to leave! Paula has created a magnificent cottage with everything we could have dreamed of in the middle of the Douro. It felt like we were staying with a friend because Paula has really thought of everything that a visitor would need to have a great stay. Our cottage was spacious for the 2 of us with a big bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a dining/reading lounge. Although we spent most of the time outside by the pool or on the veranda. The property is private with our own pool, the garden is very well kept with beautiful sitting areas to eat al fresco and read our books. We were welcomed with eggs, homemade jams, and bottles of vinho verde from the property! Paula brings fresh bread every morning and leaves it for us on the door. There was a small grill with plenty of charcoal, so we grilled dinner most nights. The property is conveniently located for day trips to surrounding towns in Douro. We took the train into Porto (1.5 hr away) for a day trip. Thank you, Paula! We hope to return to the Douro region soon and stay with you again.
Wonderful experience in a beautiful rural setting
Paula has created a very special and unique compound in a quiet, rural area of the Duroro River valley. The villa is large, comfortbale and very well equipped with everything you need. There is a generous supply of provisions stocked in the kitchen upon arrival. We arrived at the peak of their local grape harvest so there was a flurry of activity which made the experience even more interesting. One of the best parts about Paula's property is the location and setting. The views are amazing. Waking up in the morning to see the spectacular rural countryside framed by the bedroom window is a sight I won't soon forget. Paula is a great host who is available when required but completely respects her guest's privacy too. Totally enjoyable experience.
Lovely house, great location for a quiet time in the country.
We stayed for 4 nights at Casa da Raposeira and really enjoyed our stay. Paula was there to greet us and even helped us with our luggage! (There are a lot of steps to get to the house). The house and the overall location feels like you are in a movie. We really enjoyed our stay and Paula was really helpful, even providing us with Ibuprofen (I got a major migraine the day after we flew in). There was food in the fridge for breakfast (milk, juice, eggs, cheese, butter, homemade jams....) and fresh portugese bread every morning. Simply delicious! I would recommend Casa da Raposeira to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to stay.
Thank you Paula!
Wonderfull stay at Quinta da Bouça
We stayed at Quinta da Bouça for 10 days and had a wonderfull time. The guesthouse is lovely and kept well, and the farm gives you wonderfull opportunities to roam around, pick your own fruits and just relax.
Paula and Pedro took great care of us. They got up in the middle of the night to let us in, welcomed us with a basked full of local treats and spoiled us with breakfast brought to the door every morning. Paula also took the time to show us around their beautifull farm.
Quinta da Bouça is a wonderfull place to stay if you enjoy nature, privacy and peace and quiete, you really get to get a way from the rush of everyday life and slow down. We would recomend staying here to anyone!
One of the best things that comes from "spoiling" our guests it's that our guests spoil us back with very sweet kind smiles and words! :) Hope to see you two again!
After the great feedback on our Casa da Raposeira, check our other guest houses: Oliveira, Eira and Sobreiro.
Quinta da Bouça prepares to welcome new visitors from April!
