About the property

Charming apartment in the historic town, 1 bedroom, sleeps 2, 1 bathroom

This charming apartment will appeal to those who want to enjoy a holiday in a city-village with history and character, staying in a delightful apartment. It has been renovated in September 2012 and decorated with style and providing all the modern conveniences. The apartment is on the first floor of a respectfully modernized old building dating back several centuries. There is a bedroom with en suite bathroom and living-room/dining/kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen retains the charm of the apartment and ensures you are able to enjoy preparing the wonderful fresh local produce available at the twice-weekly markets. You will immediately feel at home in this apartment which doesn't get too hot in summer and is cosy in winter.

In a small street off one of the squares in the old town, you are a minute or two from everything the town has to offer - 300 famous antiques, over 60 restaurants and cafés, shops, waterways and waterwheels, beautiful old church and old town architecture.

L'isle Sur La Sorgue is famous for it's antique shops and markets and for it's delightful waterways and mossy waterwheels. The old town is charming with little shaded streets and open squares to explore. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday for a few days, a week or as long as you can spare.

The town is medium size which ensures it is lively all year round; the old town being small enough though that you can become quite familiar with it and walk to everything you need. This home is away from the hustle and bustle but just around the corner!

L'Isle sur la Sorgue is known as having the largest number of antique and brocante dealers outside of Paris and you can spend many hours browsing their wares and eating in the restaurants you will find amongst them.

It has a selection of galleries showing very high quality artworks, many little stores to browse and too many good cafes, restaurants, wine bars and ice cream shops to sample in one holiday!

The Thursday and Sunday produce markets offer a delightful selection of everything fresh - the hardest part is not buying so much that you don't need to eat out.

Worth the effort to find the apartment

  • 4 of 5

Our arrival was chaotic and the apartment was hard to find if you arrive at night. And Marie does not speak English and so directions and instructions on the apartment were difficult. But once we were settled in (and got the heat working) it was a very comfortable apartment. The town is well worth the stay. The Sunday market of food, crafts, "antiques", etc. is amazing. The apartment is a block from the main square and you have a real feeling of being French (and not a tourist) when walking the streets and shopping for food or for gifts. We found great family run, high quality restaurants even though many of the tourist-oriented restaurants were closed for November vacation.

Great flat right in the heart of I'sle-Sur-la-Sorgue!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great flat - very clean and well equipped. The bottle of wine and snack was a wonderful touch after a long day of travel and greatly appreciated! Marie was wonderful to meet us and get us acquainted with the flat. There was a language barrier as we speak very little french and Marie speaks very little english but not a big issue. There is a school right next door which can be a bit noisy but we enjoyed the sound of kids playing.

The Sunday market in Isle-Sur-la-Sorgue is not to be missed!!

Overall, would definitely recommend!

A sunny week in Provence

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at La Petit Cezanne from 29 Septemberto 5 October, 2017. It proved to be a perfect location with restaurants, shops, grocery store and parking all within a five to 10 minutes walk. The apartment was comfortable, well appointed, nicely renovated and the wifi worked well. The Saturday market stretches throughout the old town and is wonderful, plus if you are an antiques buff this a a perfect place to be. I reccommend the apartment highly and would stay here again.

Perfect vacation property

  • 5 of 5

Well appointed and located this apartment is steps from cafes, patios, bakeries for your morning croissant and shopping. Great kitchen for preparing your own meals and washing machine which we find helpful for an extended trip. Maria met us when we arrived and was kind enough to make us a dinner reservation at a restaurant within walking distance as we had travelled most of the day and it was early evening and we were completely unfamiliar with the area. Charming little village - amazing Sunday market! Would definitely stay here again!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying at Le Petit Cézanne for so many reasons; a warm welcome from the hosts, a cute apartment with everything you possibly can need while on vacation, a great location in this fabulous town! A very clean, comfortable, updated and charming home away from home! This great little apartment is 1 minute walk from all the restaurants, stores and the Sorgue. We absolutely loved our stay!
