About Dawn Giles
We are a family from Hampshire who simply love the sea! We have travelled to many places with work and for fun, but are always drawn back to the coastline for those ever changing sea views and big skies. We lead busy lives, Guy runs his own company providing technology to local government organisations and I juggle running the apartments along with 2 children and a dog, so Ventnor is somewhere we escape to whenever possible! We have tried to give the apartments a lovely coastal feel with whitewashed walls and driftwood signs, and we have left lots of books and games for all to enjoy. We hope you will have a fantastic time in Ventnor and would love you to hear about the best bits of your holiday. Guy, Dawn, Zac & Amelie Giles

Why Dawn Giles chose Ventnor
A sunny day, a posh coffee and a sea view! We had talked about owning a holiday home for years, and spent many hours gazing longingly in estate agents windows and searching for the right place. We fell in love with the Isle of Wight and particularly Ventnor, for its fantastic coastline and quirky shops & cafes. Finding the apartments where we could lie in bed and listen to the waves on the beach was like a dream come true. Our children, Zac & Amelie, love finding treasures in rockpools, eating homemade ice creams from Crave, and playing frisbee on the beach. Our dog, Derek, loves charging around on the beach and fetching driftwood from the sea. Guy and I love to spend a sunny day with a good book and a posh coffee, just soaking up the sea view.
What makes this Apartment unique
My best bits are: - Enjoying a cheeky tipple on the patio whilst watching the sun reflecting off the sea - Lying in bed listening to the waves - Feeling the sun on my face whilst relaxing in the deck chair - Watching the wall lizards basking in the sun on the garden wall - Walking along the coastal path on a windy day - Playing cricket or rounders on the beach at the end of the day - Finding treasures in rockpools and building sandcastles - Grabbing award winning fish and chips from the Haven fishery - Not needing to go out anywhere, because you already have the best view in town!

Lovely flat in perfect location close to town & beach - already want to come back!
Wonderful flat, very clean and well presented - obviously put together by someone with practical common sense, but also nicely decorated in a bright homely way. Although we did exercise our thighs on all the steps (!), the town centre is 5 minutes uphill and the beach is moments away, so we felt very conveniently located.
We had a lovely weeks break. Its always like stepping into another world when we visit the Island. The flat was just perfect for the two of us. Everything we needed for comfort was there to be found. Just loved the windows looking out on to the sea front, after the storm we were even treated to viewing surfers from them. Many thanks Dawn.
We enjoyed our time at Salty Holidays. The apartament was very clean and bright with a lovely view at sea. I wish we would stay in ground floor appartment instead the top one. Our dog did struggle with so many metal steps and taking him for a wee during the night was a bit problematic. Access to property was quite challenging as road was extremely narrow, steep and with very sharp corners. Driving my 4x4 wasn't very easy. Buy generally we liked our time at Ventnor.
Clean bright and comfortable apartment with fabulous views of the bay and beach.
Only downside to our stay were the steep steps and stairs to our apartment, nightmare on arrival with our luggage and shopping, once installed I soon got used to the approx 40 steps from our front door to the beach road, my husband who uses a stick at the moment due to a trapped nerve struggled. The Web description of the property access is not very accurate.
We however thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend the Spyglass Inn and Bonchurch Inn nearby great food and atmosphere in both. All the locals we met in Ventnor were so friendly and welcoming, great place.
Excellent accommodation and location
We stayed at Salty Holidays last week and th apartment was perfect in every way!
The view from multiple windows is beautiful (assuming you like sea views ) - I wasted much time simply staring out of the window!
We were about a minute from the beach itself and there was also a small garden that we could use.
The apartment was scrupulously clean, with a useful information pack. It felt like home as soon as we arrived, with milk and biscuits on hand for a post-travel cuppa!
The location is excellent with lovely eateries and seaside walks available on the doorstep. Ventnor is also a good base for travelling to other parts of the island by car or using public transport (bus).
Since returning home, I have missed our little holiday retreat. I hope we can return again soon!
One word of caution - there are a few tricky steps from the apartment down to the beach.
We had a lovely time made better by the weather
Fantastic location for a short break
Well furnished and very comfortable
Thanks for your review Philip. Hope you'll come back to Salty Holidays again sometime soon. Dawn
