Located between Quidnet and Sconset this upside down home is surrounded on three sides by conservation land It is private and secluded allowing you and your children to relax and enjoy nature. With decks off the first and second floor, views of the Sankaty light and golf course as well distant views of the ocean are very delightful. Deer frequent the yard as well as rabbits and birds. The house is 600 ft from the road making it very quiet and safe for children. The inter island bike path is at the end of the drive way linking you with the rest of the island. Sconset and Quidnet beaches are only minutes from the house. The house is furnished in Old English Pine and tastefully decorated. If you are looking to clear your head calm your spirits and just get away from it all, this is the house for you.
We live in Smithfield Va where my wife grew up. I lived on Nantucket for 9 years and Cape Code (Falmouth) for another 9. I grew up in Olean NY if you have heard of it and moved to the cape when i was 20. We both love Nantucket and have some very good friends there. Could end up living there someday when we get brave enough to retire.
Stephen Jospeh purchased this house in 1997
I built the house there in Cedar meadows to be close to one of the most important persons in my life. She is the reason i keep coming back to the island and the reason i own a house there.
Long story. Ask if you want to here one of those unique to Nantucket only stories.
I just added this feature to the site so no entries have been made. It is a wonderful and peaceful house that you will enjoy
My husband and our friends (there were six in total) rented Steve's house during Stroll weekend. It was beautiful there and the house had a wonderful view of Sankaty Headlight when you stood on the top floor porch. The house is much bigger than what the the pictures show, and it was the perfect size for six people. Beds were comfortable and overall the place was very clean and put together. We had some woodland visitors - a few deer and rabbits were spotted out back over the course of the weekend. It was maybe a 15 minute drive to town, and it was nice to be able to leave the Stroll crowds behind and settle in for the night with a glass of wine and our friends in quiet 'Sconset. We usually stay in town when we visit the island, and this was our first time staying on the other side of the island, but we are definitely considering renting Steve's place in the future when we return to Nantucket.
The house is all it is described and more!!! The owner could not have been more helpful with resturant suggestions, walks and really wanted to make sure on our arrival that we were happy. I see why the calendar fills up as once you come here you will repeat. We have already confirmed next year. All the amenities needed and well kept!!!
Our collies loved the walks!!!More walks than days as well as wonderful bike trails..

Rented the house for a girls weekend and absolutely loved the house and our time there. Gorgeous views form both decks, beautifully decorated house and truly provided a relaxing tranquil stay.
The owner is very easy to work with and accommodating. I would stay here again when I'm back in ACK!
We have been going to this home on Nantucket Island for 10 years now. It is situated on a private lot right across the street from the bike path. The bike path leads to the quaint village of Siasconset. The open floor plan on the second floor is wonderfully laid out. We have taken our vacations there during all four New England seasons and have enjoyed them all. The four bedrooms and two of the three bathrooms are on the first floor. Both floors have decks off the back of the house. It is a very comfortable & convenient home and we would highly recommend it as an incredible island vacation destination.

This was our 4th year renting this house. Easy living! It is a truly a gem; it's comfortable so you can relax but not fussy or overly formal. With the Wave Island shuttle stop at the end of the driveway and the bike path across the street, we never have worries about finding parking in town. Located midway between town and 'Sconset but surrounded by conservation land, it is a peaceful hideaway and an easy ride to the beaches. We love this house and recommend it highly.
We recently stayed here with our extended family group which included children (from ages 2 - 13) and adults. We had a great time riding our bikes on the convenient bike path, going to the beach and practically living on the awesome 1st and 2nd story decks! The house is well equipped and there was plenty of space for everyone, both inside and out. The view of Sankaty lighthouse from the back upper deck along with a full moon will never be forgotten.
The conservation land that abutts this property is part of the Audubon society. There is an eagles nest viewable from the back deck. As stated before the bike path goes right by the end of the drive way. This path goes thru-out the island and is safe for children. All the usual activities are available from an island community.
