Our week was full of great memories, such as Biscuit the wild cat, swimming in the lake, Kathy and Beth got caught in the middle of the lake during a rainfall, Sleeping Bear National Park, campfires, horseback riding and so much more.We highly suggest going to Karlin Inn for food!Hope we can come back soon.
The property was very accurately described - and actually, more secluded than I had imagined, especially being on a lake - which was perfect! There were many areas to sit and relax - we spent time in the little "den" with the electric stove (it was cold when we were there and we had snow almost all days, even though it was May), we spent a lot of time in the living room with the wood burning fireplace, and tried to have a fire in the pit outside, but it was too chilly. But the firepit outside is well set up, comfortable. Next time we would love to use the boats (with the flooding this spring it wasn't possible). Very clean and well appointed. Only item I recall looking for were bedroom fans - we use them for white noise and airflow year round. Other than that, well appointed. Definitely looking forward to another stay soon!
We spent a week there and and although it rained almost everyday we had great time. The house was clean and comfortable and the lake was great. It was a ideal place to explore the all the treasures of Michigan's N/W coast, only minutes from Traverse City and the peninsula's and a great location to launch day trips to Charlevoix, Petoskey or Mackinaw.
We spent a week at Lakewood Lodge in June - two families with 7 kids age 8 and under. It was a fantastic place for our group! Plenty of space inside and tons of space outside. With a playset, lots of sand toys, a paddle boat and canoe, our kids were happy and entertained the entire week. The lake is relatively small, but very nice. The kids caught lots of fish, which was high on the checklist for our vacation. I was concerned we might feel crowded inside with our group, but it really was a perfect fit. The only real downside was the lack of access to a washer and dryer onsite (bummer with 7 kids!) - but we knew ahead of time and just packed more than we otherwise would have. Thank you Lynne and family for sharing your lake home with us. We highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our time here. The outdoor area is great. It has everything we wanted, boat and paddleboats. The lake is really lovely and quite large. Lots of places to sit outside. Bonfire setup was great. The house definitely has a log cabin feel which we loved. The rooms are very nice. We felt very much at home here and will defintely stay here agin.
My family had a great time at the cottage. The cottage itself is very clean and well kept. It was very peaceful sitting out by the lake in the morning listening to the loons. The kids had a great time swimming in the lake and making smores at night around the firepit. We would definitely come back again!
Spent a week there and and although the weather did not cooperate we still managed to have a great time. The house was clean and comfortable with everything you need. The lake was great and whether it was the deck and dock near the water, the fire pit and hammock or the large deck and grill near the house, there are many ways to enjoy the setting of this great property. Also a short drive to Traverse City or Sleeping Bear Dunes.
