Converted from the old school this two bedroom stone cottage offers cosy accommodation for four people, with one double and one twin bedroom, a lounge, galley kitchen and shower room. Outside facilities include two small patios and a lawned area to the side of the cottage, from where you can enjoy the same stunning views that you enjoy from the lounge and kitchen.

Conveniently situated; close to the Lochearnhead Village Store, and Post Office, which are within 200 yards.

Two local restaurants and bars offering good food are within walking distance.

Why Alan chose Lochearnhead

We bought this old cottage mainly because of it's fantastic views, we are surrounded by mountains (including a Munro to the right of the Loch) as it's at the head of the loch the view is amazing, it's also a brilliant base from which to explore, in fact we were stunned at how much there is to see and do, the village is welcoming and friendly with a shop, post office and a couple of good places to eat out

there is a highland games each year practically opposite, the black faced sheep shearing championships are also held here.

                                                                  Nice cottage with lot of possibilities for hiking

                                                                  We really enjoyed our stay in Lochearnhead and were lucky with the weather. There are a lot of hiking possibilities with lot of veriety (glen, forrest, open land, lakes, bens). There was a map of the regio in the cottage which we used well. The bed in the main room is really comfortable. Beds is second room are quite small (in lenght). The seats are really nice in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped and we had some extra pans on request (to make pancakes :-)). We had a problem with the shower but owner took fast action to get it repaired. It is indeed located near a busy road but has the advantage you move quickly in different directions. We brought our white shepherd dog with us and she had the time of her life.

                                                                  Stopped over for a few days on our way further North. It's a great place with everything we needed. Road isn't too busy, and bedrooms are at the back of the house so it doesn't disturb.

                                                                  Property was clean and comfortable. It is located on a busy main road, that creates noise. Some small touch ups are needed, such as the shower door and curtains are inoperable. Yard needs a little bit of attention.

                                                                  Thanks you for your feedback. We are located on the A84, it has a 30mph limit, with regular police speed checks, it is a convenient location for exploring, and is never affected by the weather, as some roads can be in the winter.

                                                                  The shower door is a little stiff, but functions fine, we went to check the property following your stay and found the lounge blinds to be faulty, these were repaired the same day, along with the second bedroom blind, hope this did not spoil your stay, it is unfortunate that you did not contact us while you were there so that this could be addressed, but glad to say this has been rectified.

                                                                  We also did the gardening following this stay, in the gap before the next guests, there is regular garden maintenance, lawn driveway etc but this included cutting back climbers, and additional weeding, happy to say it is now tidy, it isn't always easy to find a time between stays to do the bigger jobs.

                                                                  This cottage is charming and lovely! It was everything we needed for our family with two small children. It is in an excellent area for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners have a very beautiful property and take very good care of their home and guests. I would definitely recommend staying here!

                                                                  As we arrived and parked the car the view was amazing, Lochearnhead in all its glory. The cottage had everything we needed for our short break, including wifi for the kids, from the kitchen to the bedrooms we needed naught. Great place to enjoy walks and a national cycle route( no 7 )on the doorstep. The local shop just yards away and the nearest bar/restaurant only 1/2 a mile walk that is also dog friendly. Great place to stay that I would highly recommend. Oh and the milk and biscuits were well received.

                                                                  We had a really nice stay in the Stone Cottage. It was very spacious, clean, comfortable and the view from the kitchen is absolutely amazing. The wee garden was great. We even had a picnic lunch there with our little boy. All of the little extra touches were unexpected and very much appreciated. I would highly recommend.

                                                                  CROFTEARN sits at the head of Loch Earn with magnificent views of the Loch and surrounding mountains which are set in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. A great base for exploring Scotland. Activities: Fishing - On Loch Earn, by boat from the Drummond Fish Farm or from the Loch Shore. Permits are available from the Village store a short walk away. Cycling – National Cycle Route 7 passes through Lochearnhead giving traffic free cycling on the former railway track between Callander and Killin. Cycle hire at Mounter Bikes, Callander Golf – St Fillans, Comrie, Killin, Crieff and Callander are less than 30 minutes drive by car and offer excellent facilities. Walks – Lots of good walks from the doorstep, including the Glen Trail and for the more adventurous try bagging a few munros. Ben Vorlich, Ben More, Ben Lawers or Ben Lomond. . CAR DAY TRIPS – will allow you to take in the breathtaking scenery of Glencoe (40 mins), Pitlochry (60 mins) Oban and the Isles (50 mins). Stirling Castle and The Wallace Monument are within an hours drive away. Great Family days out are Auchingarrich Wildlife Park at Braco and Blair Drummond Safari Park, Doune again within an hours drive away. The Balquhidder, Lochearnhead and Strathyre Highland Games which celebrated its 200th Anniversary in 2007 and takes place each year on the 2nd last Saturday in July. Also held at Lochearnhead are the Scottish Blackface Sheep Shearing Championship takes place in Lochearnhead. Callander is @ 12 miles, it has a lovely main street and sits on the river Teith it has a good Tourist Information Office along with supermarkets, pubs etc.
