Walk along or fish from the cottage's rocky shoreline. From a bench on your rocky ledge, watch lobster men pull up their lobster traps or watch sailboats sail by. A recent visitor has called the cottage and its location 'The Jewel of Georgetown.' Nearby, enjoy all that Reid State Park has to offer including its fabulous beaches and panoramic views. With an orientation towards the east, 'Cottage by the Sea ' sits on a gorgeous piece of Maine's beautiful coast. The rental is pet friendly. Order freshly caught lobsters from a local fisherman. (Name and telephone number in the cottage). Cottage has internet access, DISH TV and the property is professionally sprayed for ticks and mosquitoes five times during the summer. Families may enjoy sitting by the campfire at the fire pit - weather permitting. Try living a real Maine adventure at "The Cottage By The Sea."

I am a retired elementary school principal from CT. My wife, also an elementary school principal, dreamed of our Maine home by the sea as our retirement home. Sadly, she passed away in 2011 from complications of the non Hodgkins cancer she was diagnosed with in 2003. I am an Eagle scout and believe in the golden rule, being prepared and doing a good turn daily. These hallmarks have steered me through life. I still have a home in CT which I plan to sell. My son and his wife and two children live in CT. I own a sportscar, a 1963 Morgan, that I should drive more often. At the end of the summer season, the magnificent views and beauty of the coast make it difficult to leave my home in Maine. I enjoy meeting the people and the families who rent the cottage. I am pleased when I see their enjoyment of the cottage. I am always awestruck by the views.

When you see this property, its privacy, seclusion, and location on the water, you will understand why we fell in love with it. So have the renters who have stayed here. The guest book and reviews on-line attest to this. It faces east and it's expansive water views are a daily joy.. Each day is wondrous! The house, which sits on ten acres, also came with a quaint guest cottage, that we turned into a rental, 'Cottage by the Sea.' The land adjoining the cottage is undeveloped forest. We are a half mile from Reid State Park and close to the village of Five Islands. We loved that Georgetown is a classic, New England seacoast town that is yet to be spoiled by development or discovered. Georgetown people are truly friendly. The area is a great place to relax and get away from it all.
The water views are fabulous. The cottage is a quaint, rustic, upgraded Maine cottage decorated with interesting items. (If you want to taste the flavor of Maine, this cottage is it!) Lots of privacy featured. Second floor deck with views of the water. The photos do not show the remodeling to increase the dimensions of the living room and master bedroom. The cottage has internet access, DISH TV, and a pass to Reid State Park comes with the rental.

"Thanks for a wonderful week in your very special cozy cottage! We saw a beautiful mother and tiny baby deer in the driveway...such a special Maine woods site. I'll send you some great sunrise pics I took when Mickey woke me up. Mickey loved her first vacation in Maine in your cottage. Your lunch tip to go to Five Islands for fish and chips was such a good idea. There fish and chips are the best! So fresh and tasty. We went back to Five Islands for a "last night" dinner - such a good idea. The lobsters and steamers were so good. We look forward to coming back to your special hospitality and cozy cottage. Your kindness makes a visit so special...little things like ordering lobsters from your lobsterman down the road...having a BIG lobster pot handy in the closet...beach passes. Visiting you and your cottage...is really like visiting family!
See you next year!

This rental provided the perfect combination of everything! Perfect location, perfect accommodations, perfect views, perfect peace! This beautiful"Cottage by the Sea" has everything you could possibly need. The cottage is decorated as though a photo shoot is scheduled. With that said, it is sublimely comfortable and homey. The views from both the deck and the amazing perch on the rock rested bench are awesome! A short drive can bring you to Five Islands Lobster Company for the freshest treasures from the sea, or Grey Havens for fine restaurant fare. Breakfast in the cottage or simple but perfect choices from The Georgetown Market, youe choice. If the beach is your desire did I mention that passes to Reid State Park are provided by the owner.Whatever you decide you cannot go wrong with choosing this property! Say hello to the owner, he is an angel in disguise.
Possibly the best cottage I've found for my summer getaway. I find ocean front properties that offer so much privacy hard to find, but this one nails it. The cottage is sweet, well equipped, two very comfortable Q-size beds, a rustic Down East feel but civilized. Wildlife nearby, we saw deer and several appearances of a mink, as well as many colorful birds. The upper deck alone is worth the trip for the views. That bench atop the rocky shore, though, wow -- panoramic views, we could spend hours out there. A bonus to have the pass to Reid State Park, a gorgeous sandy beach with good wave that always feels uncrowded. We also enjoyed lobster (and clams, and haddock...)in the rough at Five Islands on several nights, where we watched a huge tuna catch being loaded off the pier. One splurge dinner at the Queen Ann victorian Grey Havens Inn. Nice bar and dining room with awesome views of islands close by, a fabulous long porch to sip a cocktail or even have a meal. But the cottage most of all was the best of the visit, hated to go anywhere else. The owner has a home close by and is extremely kind and helpful. I am planning on returning next year.
Just a perfect cottage in an amazing location. The rocky beach was breath taking. We visited the bench every morning to watch the sun rise on the bay. The owner hooked us up with a lobsterman who delivered fresh lobsters several days. How do you beat that? Tony is a gracious host. Reid state park is beautiful and so close to the cottage. There is so much to do you can't possibly do it all in one week so we're planning another trip next spring. We're anxiously waiting for our next relaxing week at the cottage by the sea.
Great rental located near Reid State Park. Our family of four (plus a dog) will
be back again next summer! Our girls, 7 and 9, loved climbing on the rocks,
while we sat on the bench, drinking coffee in the sun -- soaking up the ocean view! We saw a seal one morning and on another spotted a harbor porpoise.
We also watched lobster boats and sail boats. We spent most afternoons at Reid State Park, where we braved the waves and warmed ourselves on the sand. When the weather turned foggy, we ventured to Bath & Boothbay Harbor for lunch and shopping. At night, we enjoyed cooking seafood in the kitchen, including fresh caught lobster. After that, we toasted s'mores by the campfire. Our girls loved the upstairs loft, while we slept restfully in the newly renovated downstairs bedroom--on a new mattress, with the breeze coming through the windows, and to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks!
This was our first week in Maine, and we loved it. Reid State Park has a beautiful beach and fun little tidal pools for kids to play in. The cottage was fun for the kids, and they felt like the upstairs was their own little space. We enjoyed the fire pit outside, with smores every other night. The rocks on the coast were fun for the kids, and my wife and I enjoyed just sitting there and watching the lobster boats pull up their traps. We were lucky to watch fireworks across the bay the last night we were there. Overall it was a terrific stay. Thanks Tony!
The Cottage by the Sea is truly a marvelous location for relaxing! The view from the deck and from the bench on the rock are unrivaled. The cottage is cozy, quaint, and comfortable. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The location is convenient to Reid State Park and to the Five Islands Lobstah Dock -- my favorite!!!!! It is a mere 20 minutes to Bath with its many amenities. I would be happy to return and to recommend this property.
'Cottage by the Sea' is a great place to relax, read a book, watch the sun rise, take a walk on the shoreline where you can sit out on a bench and observe the many sea birds and boats. The night sky is beautiful. Enjoy the peace and tranquility in a rural setting! You can sit on the deck or sit out on the rocks and watch lobstermen pull up, unload and bait lobster traps. Often a seal will pop up to take a look around. Restaurants include Blue at Grey Havens Inn and The Osprey. There's eating great seafood dinners on the dock in Five Islands. Cultural events and shopping are in Bath and Brunswick thirty five minutes away.
This spot has everything: A great waterfront remodeled cottage at a fair price, closeness to expansive beaches and Reid State Park, just minutes from great food at the Five Islands Lobster Company, and more.
