This lovely apartment in the 12th was everything our family of four could have asked for. We have stayed in a number of other Paris locations, but we all agreed that this apartment was-- by far--our favorite. It was bright, comfortable and well-appointed. We shopped at the local market and prepared most of our meals at home, an experience we all enjoyed, particularly because the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved getting to know this quieter side of Paris and found ourselves exploring many of the wonderful areas near the apartment.
David was extremely responsive during the booking stage and thoroughly answered all of our questions. The apartment was exactly as it had been described and Natasza, who met my son on arrival, was very helpful in explaining things in the apartment and helping to acclimate us to the neighborhood and its many delights.
Staying in this apartment allowed us to feel, for just a few days, like we actually lived in Paris. There is no better way to enjoy this enchanting city!
Thank you, David. We'll be back.
A Beautiful Apartment and Neighborhood Gem
Our stay in Paris was spectacular of which our accommodations played a huge role! The apartment is large, clean, and pretty. There is access to neighborhood gems (restaurants, cafes, a massive market, and wine)! Metro options galore, close walk to Bastille and Le Marais! Natasza welcomed us to the property and was beyond friendly! Can’t wait to come back because after exploring all of Paris for 5 days and 6 nights, this spot was the perfect place to relax after very full days...truly felt like home. Thanks David for sharing your beautiful home in Paris! -Kurt and JP
Many thanks Kurt, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and sincerely hope you do return!
Unbeatable Paris Location & Amenities
I doubt we can add any new insight to the reviews already posted here but we echo all the great things about this property. For context I am a frequent visitor to Paris for business and pleasure - perhaps 30 times.
This flat's location is unbeatable - couple hundred yards from a Metro stop on the #8 line which runs on a northern arc through the city. A little further (maybe 500 yards more) to the Bastille stop on the #1 (central) line running quickly through the city's core - all the famous sights - Louvre, Tuileries, Cite, Champs, Arc, etc. Sunday market for produce is literally stone's throw with a weak arm. Within a block are a couple great wine bars, a couple great patisseries, a score of couple great restaurants. A Monoprix is a couple blocks - near the Metro. We like walking in Paris so we used the Metro some but generally ranged from Montmartre to the Arc Triumph to the Louvre to this flat mostly on foot.
The flat itself is a wonderful respite. I'm no architectural guru but staying in this flat you get to feel like a real Parisian for the duration - the building is lovely and in a lovely neighborhood. You are not in a hotel surrounded by other tourists. Under duress one day we had to find food fast and crashed a restaurant in the Bastille area and bemoaned the fact that it was a "tourist place". We had temporarily forgotten that we were tourists ourselves.
The flat is well appointed. It is the perfect blend of original creaky wood floors and molded plaster and antique furnishings but with modern appliances, a Nespresso machine and lovely modern bath. We were traveling as a family of five and were perfectly comfortable in the flat and felt so much better about our trip having stayed here than if we had taken a couple hotel rooms.
Not to take away from the owners who have such great taste but perhaps the best of this property is the property manager - Nastasza - who greeted us upon our arrival. She had all kinds of suggestions about things to see and do both in the neighborhood and in Paris. A few things that we wouldn't have thought to do but that turned out to be some of the highlights of our trip. On top of that she was extremely gracious with her time. We were late due to traffic and it was her birthday and she was pressed to get to a gathering of friends and yet she went out of her way to make sure we knew everything about the apartment, it's operation, the neighborhood, the lot.
We would stay again any time we come to Paris.
Thank you David, you've captured everything we love about our apartment and the local area. See you again some time.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this location. We were close to many shops, a great outdoor market and lovely cafes. The apartment was comfortable and everything was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 small children. We would definitely love to return!
Thanks you for your kind review and we would love to see you back.
Loved this little palace
I can’t truly describe how much we loved this charming beautiful little palace. The apartment is over 200 years old however it still has a very modern feel. It is incredibly clean and well kept. I literally cried the morning we left. It is super close to the metro, amazing restaurants, cafes and an out of this world outdoor farmers market. Our family of 5 had plenty of space in the apartment and felt very safe outside of the apartment even when we would come home after 11pm. The owners were amazing at returning our emails and the booking was super easy. The lovely lady Natasha who met us at the apartment spend over 45 minutes showing us the house and giving us lots of recommendation. She was lovely with our kids!! We hope we can return to this apartment next time we return to Paris. Thank you for sharing your apartment with us and for allowing us to feel like Parisians for a week. Truly if you can’t be happy here you won’t be happy anywhere!!!
Dear Armineh, thank you for your lovely note. Natasza loved meeting your family and we do hope you will will come back again one day.
Great Apartment - Perfect neighbourhood
There is good reason why this apartment is highly rated in these posts. The neighbourhood is a refuge in Paris with excellent restaurants, shops, access to metro lines, outdoor daily market and a park for travellers with children. The building is beautiful and the unit bright, fully stocked and well laid out for families. The owner is well represented with Natasza who is very helpful and makes you feel at a home. Great apartment. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your kind comments Paul, we are glad you and the family enjoyed your stay, and the local area. We appreciate the note you left about a couple of minor matters requiring some attention, this helps us keep the apartment in top shape for the next guests. Hope to see you back soon. David
