Are you looking for an escape for a weekend, or a week? A place to restore your mind and soul? Well, I have the place for you... It is called the Dreamcatcher, a 3200-square-foot, 3 bedroom cabin high atop Hatcher Mountain in Wear's Valley, Tennessee. It is just seven miles from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is so close to great music theaters, outlet shopping, restaurants, and craft shops... not to mention the wonderful hiking trails, mountain streams, and views to be found in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park just across Wear's Valley (about three miles to the nearest entrance)... but when you get to the cabin, you feel you are in another world away from the hustle and bustle, at the end of the road, with woods on three sides. The cabin has three bedrooms with antique king-size beds and furniture, every room has an outside wall of floor-to-ceiling glass...

all ceramic tile and oak flooring, 15 built-in speakers for CD sound, seven-foot indoor jacuzzi, private outdoor hot tub, gourmet kitchen with banquet-size table, 360-degree covered decks, sunrises and sunsets over mountains. About Cindy Britt

Bob and Cindy Hosford own and manage the Dreamcatcher Cabin and Tanasi Lodge. We pay personal attention and add amenities both inside and outside the properties to provide extra touches not found when not personally managed. We are available full time to provide information on hiking trails, shopping, events, and some discount tickets. The grounds have beautiful flower beds. The most unique aspect of the cabin and lodge is that there is an incredible view of the mountains from both the front AND the rear of the houses - Of sunrises in the front and sunsets in the rear, with complete privacy, quiet, with no cabins in site except way down in the valley - see aerial photos!

Cindy Britt purchased this cabin in 1994

Why Cindy Britt chose Tennessee

There are VERY FEW properties that have 360 spectacular Mountain and Valley Views! The Dreamcatcher has incredible views from the front decks of sunrises over mountain ranges, of Wear's Valley, and Cove Mountain which borders the National Park. The views from the rear decks of incredible sunsets are truly memorable.

What makes this cabin unique

The Dreamcatcher is not in a development, it is at the end of the road (just 2 miles from the main highway), with no houses visible on either side of the cabin and only miles away in the front and the back (see photos!). The area is completely private, quiet and secluded. Having incredible views from both the front and back of the cabin is truly unique!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just returned from a wonderful week-long stay at the Dreamcatcher Cabin in the sky and had a fantastic time! I had the bad fortune of having to work part of the time while we were there, but it was in the most enjoyable work location I could ever ask for. The top floor of the cabin, which looks out on the valley with spectacular views on both sides, became my ‘office suite’ and allowed the rest of my family to play on the rest of the property while I was busy. In addition to daily excursions to local attractions, the guys did guy things on the bottom level where the pool table and games are, and watched endless guy movies on the big screen TV while the fireplace kept them cozy. We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and cooked gourmet meals every evening while we watched what was going on outside all around us. I was delighted to find a lovely selection of adorable serving dishes that we took full advantage of (I am a kitchenware and china-holic). The cabin is spotless and Cindy has made it the most comfortable, welcoming and enchanting place. It feels like a home. Every convenience and comfort you could ask for is provided and attention is paid to every small detail. We left the drapes open when we turned in for the night and fell asleep to twinkling lights in the distance below us. And on one evening I took an indulgent bubble bath in the fabulous whirlpool bathtub and had bubbles up to my ears. After dark, we discovered tiny twinkly white fairy lights entwined among the greenery adorning the rustic stairway that leads to the loft above the main living room. But we turned them off after awhile as they were competing with the lights in the valley below. During our stay, early spring flowers and tree foliage were just beginning to come out and we sat on the lovely wrap-around deck in the rocking chairs and just enjoyed everything. It was so quiet and peaceful that we didn't want to leave. You wouldn’t know there was an enormous vacation playground of activities anywhere near the cabin, but fun and fantasy are only a few miles away if you want it. And if you are a pottery and textile fan like me, there are a vast many exquisitely talented artists in the area who sell their work in a variety of locations. I found several (won’t say how many) lovely things to take home with me that will remind me of my Dreamcatcher stay. We definitely look forward to another peaceful retreat at Cindy and Bob’s cabin in the sky!

I give this property an A +++++

I just had to write you this morning and let you know that we absolutely loved the Dreamcatcher. The view was spectacular as you had said it would be. The cabin was furnished so it made us feel right at home and when we return, you will definitely be the

first one I call for our rental. The Dreamcatcher was totally untouched in comparision with the other cabin we stayed at. I can hardly wait to return and hopefully next time the leaves will be in their fall colors.

We stayed busy going here and there. We visited Cades Cove, Gatlinburg air tram and shopping, Pigeon Forge shopping, Black Bear Jamboree and took the ride over the Smokies into Cherokee, NC and drove further on over to the Deep Creek Park and hiked up to the waterfalls. All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the cabin most of all.

Cindy it was such a pleasure to do business with you, I feel like we have been friends forever and I will no doubt be staying at the Dreamcatcher again. It just won't be soon enough for me.

Thanks Cindy and have a wonderful season.

Fantastic vacation!

  • 5 of 5

The view in the morning of the sunrise and in the evening of the sunset is spectacular. It was our granddaughters', 13 and 10, first trip to the mountains. They loved the house and our location (so did the adults). Great location for daily sightseeing adventures. We actually saw two bears from the back balcony one evening. Far enough away to not scare anyone but close enough to watch and get some great pictures. We definitely recommend Dreamcatcher to anyone visiting the Smokey Mountains. Hopefully, we will be back too.

AWESOME !!!!

We've stayed in several cabins in the Pigeon Forge area and this cabin is the most beautiful, cleanest, comfortable cabin with amazing views. Nothing has been overlooked. It was like we were staying in a family member's home rather than a rental It is close enough to town, but far enough away. We loved sitting on the decks taking in the beautiful views. Wish we could have stayed longer! Cindy is so great to work with and takes a lot of pride in her properties. I highly recommend Dreamcatcher !! We will absolutely stay again!! Thank you so much, Cindy, for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Property was everything it says. Terrific.

The property is terrific, antiques abound with a warmness to it. There were three of us that preferred to stay in this beautiful home vs stay at the conference hotel. Location was just perfect and it got us away to enjoy the sunrise(s) and sunset(s). Nothing like having coffee watching the sun rise on the upper deck. The cabin is well maintained and the owners provided good customer service. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Excellent!

Wow, just beautiful!

There is not a better house to rent with a better view than the Dreamcatcher. Truly a breathtaking view from every window and the decks. You can get sunrise and sunset pictures. We drove through the National Park one day and our pics from the house rival some of those pictures.

Cindy is a wonderful hostess. The house and grounds are immaculate and she was available by phone when we first checked in to answer any questions.

My husband and I were there with my brother and his wife. The way the house is configured 3 couples could be there very easily on each floor without running into each other much except to gather in the kitchen/dining area. Each floor has bathroom/shower, private bedroom and a great view. (In searching for places to stay it seemed like very few places were this well laid out for multiple couples - there was always a bedroom without a bath nearby or something.) All of the beds were very comfy and there were plenty of pillows and blankets, etc.

We cooked breakfast there in the mornings and enjoyed the view, and watching the hummingbirds who frequent the feeders. We also hosted my other siblings who were staying elsewhere one night for dinner. (They were disappointed that where they were staying wasn't as pretty!) We got sandwich fixins and other items from the Kroger down the road and there were plenty of glasses, plates and silverware for 11 for dinner.

The main drag of Pigeon Forge is about 15-20 minutes away. On the main road (Wears Valley Rd) there are several little antique and gift shops that are kind of fun to go into if you like that kind of thing. One is a rather large general store looking kind of place (I forgot the name!!) that has delicious fudge, TN jams, soaps, stuffed bears, etc. If you are looking for this kind of thing, I recommend stopping at these places rather than getting fudge from in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge -- the price was the same and it tasted better. Another store had unusual crafts from locals and soaps. Stop and visit if they interest you -- they are nice folks and they have cool stuff.

Also don't miss the place "Goats on the Roof." We didn't stop and pay to see the Goats on the Roof, but we looked every time we drove by. It's a place that really has a bunch of goats on the roof! They made the drive kinda fun :)

The Dreamcatcher made our trip to the Smokies very special, and we certainly would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
