The Cottage in St Maarten, ideal for truly romantic, peaceful Caribbean vacation. The St Maarten Cottage at Oyster Pond Estates is part of the Estate Chateau Jeca, a fully gated property in secured gated community . The Cottage offers privacy and beauty. Styled after an old West Indian cottage every detail is included; lap board siding, and traditional wood shutters painted in Caribbean colors.

Don't be fooled by the old traditional style, the cottage contains a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances; micro wave, wall oven and cook top. The entire cottage is air-conditioned. There is cable with 2 flat screen TVs, 2 stereos, Ipod docking station, wireless Internet. The bathroom is built into the hillside with exposed rock and includes large vanity, sink and self contained shower all from Travertine stone. Amenities include outdoor jacuzzi, sculptured pool bordered with stone and views of Oyster Pond, the Atlantic Ocean and Anguilla.

Three private terraces allow for plenty of relaxing time. Also, you can take time to meander in the lush gardens using one of the many stone paths, or maybe chat with Tina the African Grey. Annie,a pomeranian, that will greet you everyday.

Dawn beach is minutes away and about 20 minutes to Orient Beach (our nude beach) on the French side.

Robert-

The Cottage is an indoor/outdoor architectural masterpiece. Robert has done an amazing job creating this very unique environment and the view from the deck off of the bedroom is fabulous. The interior of the cottage is nicely appointed and very interesting. You are provided with a private entrance off of the road by way of an electronic and secure gate and can park your car just a few steps from the front porch.

Robert is very responsive to emails and was even kind enough to look into what happened to an old friend I had met in Grand Case some years ago. Sadly the news was not good.

The daily morning walk into Oyster Pond is a great way to start the day but be aware that the walk back can be a challenge! Our only disappointment was that Robert was stateside during the first part of our stay so we only had one opportunity to sit down and chat with him. This is a very nice place!

AMAZING ANNIVERSARY TRIP

  • 5 of 5

We spent our honeymoon on St. Martin and had not been back so we were excited to find a great place for our 25th anniversary. We also had not ever used VRBO so that was a new experience for us. After arriving, getting car and driving to Chateau Jeca, we were a little nervous about what to expect.... then we arrived at the gate and entered heaven. Richard was there to meet us, along with the very friendly dogs, and proceeded to show us the cottage. As other reviews have mentioned, the pictures only hint at how awesome the entire property is. Everything was so perfect it was almost unbelievable. Then, the icing on the cake. Several of my wife's best friends had contacted Robert through VRBO and asked if he could provide something special for us. Robert went out of his way to get a nice card, fresh flowers and champagne, this on top of the beer and wine he normally provides. It was so unexpected. This trip was in one word, perfect. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic visit to St. Martin.

Absolutely loved our stay. The cottage is fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

We really loved returning to the cottage in the evening and drinking a glass of wine while soaking in the view. Such a beautiful and quiet place to return to each night. Guests have private use of hot tub and pool. Robert is so accommodating- there to help if needed otherwise gives complete privacy. He has thought of everything to make the guests stay wonderful. Will return some day. LOVED IT!

Perfect Break from a long Winter

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have been to the island four times in the last five years and really enjoyed our stay at Robert's cottage. He has thought of everything and it was just as advertised, clean, quiet and simply perfect. The view is wonderful from the top deck, beverages to start our stay and a comfortable bed. It was nice to have plenty of beach towels and even the chairs. Thanks Robert, we really enjoyed our stay. Kris & Ralph

Amazing Once Again

  • 5 of 5

We can't say enough good about Chateau Jeca. This was our second time enjoying the cottage and we wouldn't do SXM any other way unless we came with a larger group. The views of Oyster Pond, the ocean and Anguilla are so welcome to wake up to. We brought a bag of our favorite coffee from home and enjoyed that on the deck every morning. The pool is refreshing and the hot tub very relaxing during the cool of night. The entire property is gorgeous and everything is set up for visitors to have maximum relaxation. Also, Bella and Angelo were very friendly and greeted us every morning while we had our coffee.

Thanks again, Robert, for sharing your beautiful property with us. We hope to return again soon and will never forget our time at Chateau Jeca.

Would love to have this sweet cottage in my backyard!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures and description of Chateau Jeca certainly caught my attention. What a joy it was to get to live in this cottage a few days and call it "home"! The house plan was fascinating and so unique. It is also very functional from the well equipped kitchen and living room, to the bathroom 2 stairs up and the bedroom up above that. There is a balcony off the bedroom that offers great views and a front porch down stairs that is a nice place to eat breakfast or a late dinner. Angelo and Bella will likely visit you there! The grounds are beautiful, too, with rock pathways, driveway, retaining walls and many palm trees and flowering plants. We didn't use the hot tub but did try out the pool. Lovely. It was nice to be away from Philipsburg and yet not very far from any location on the island. We enjoyed several good restaurants nearby and probably circled the island twice in a few days. A side trip to Saba was pretty exciting. Robert was very easy to work with in planning our stay and truly seems to enjoy sharing his slice of paradise. We'd love to stay there again.

A one of a kind retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Chateau Jeca is truly a romantic, relaxing , beautiful place to stay in St. Maarten! We vacationed here from January 28th to February 12th, 2017. From getting precise directions from the airport to whatever you needed, Robert was the perfect host! The cottage was so quaint and all that we needed. We had our morning coffee on the veranda off the bedroom and watched the sunrise! When we stayed in and cooked, the kitchen with top of the line appliances was perfect. There is a cozy table on the front porch to eat outside and relax. The pool and garden area was just so beautiful , and having the pool to ourselves was delightful! Some nights we would just lay on the chaise lounges and watch the stars. The cottage is perfectly located too, on the border of the Dutch and French side! There are great restraunts in all directions! Mama's Pizza is just two minutes down the road. La Planteur is the most romantic place with outstanding food! Jaraud insists there is no hurry here (we had a 3 hour dinner)! Go to Serafina's in Marigot for french pastries, crepes, and sandwiches made to take to the beach! A twenty minute ride will take you to Jimbo"s in Simpson Bay! Everything on the menu is outstanding and their 5-7 happy hour drinks are amazing! We had a wonderful time and would return in an instant! Pictures do not do it justice! You have to come, enjoy and see it for yourself!
