Very relaxing with beautiful views
The villa was very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful pool and BBQ area. The village of prines is very quiet but the main town is about 15 mins away in the car. The owner was very inviting and we received some homemade treats from them during our stay which was a lovely personal touch. I would highly recommend this villa to make a very lovely relaxing place to stay
Luxurious villa with lovely pool
We really loved this villa. The house itself is spacious, well equipped and stylish. The outside area is great, with a fantastic infinity pool and lovely places to sit. The air conditioning and sheltered outdoor space meant that we could cool off in the August heat.
The village of Prines is really peaceful and friendly with two good tavernas and mini markets. It is about a 15 minute drive to the busy town of Rethymnon which has lots of shops and restaurants.
The owners were fantastic, providing a welcome pack, home baked desserts and lots of help throughout our stay.
We would definitely love to return to Villa Olia - it is our favourite villa of the many villas that we have rented.
1 hour by car from Heraklion and only 7 minutes from Rethymnon or 3 min from the sea, the traditional village of Prines is set on the lush green hill overhanging Rethymnon. Prines used to be an important place during the Venetian occupation and the church of St. Nicolas dates from the 13th century. All the necessary shops can be found in the village, such as 2 supermarkets, a traditional kafenio and a taverna. The village itself is surrounded by olive trees and is ideal for people who like less crowded places and want to be close to a very rich nature. Rethymnon is very close, offering many and diverse activities and excursions.
