As good as it looks and better than it sounds, the best of indoor outdoor living
About Ian Morton
I'm Gill. Married to Brian. We're both retired teachers now based in France where we have a Gite for summer rentals. With a married daughter and two grandchildren in London and a married son in Dallas, we travel a lot. We spend a couple of months each year in Samui upgrading the house and having a lovely relaxing time!
Ian Morton purchased this Villa in 2002
Why Ian Morton chose Mae Nam
It's a great location and the house is very well built and maintained. There will be only pleasant surprises! We have 12 years experience of letting it and our neighbours in Samui are on hand should you need any help. We spend a couple of months a year living in the house so we know it's in excellent condition for the rental season. Guests tell us it feels like a home and we think that's because we invest time, money and effort into the property. We like Nathon and Maenam which are both just a few kilometres away. These places have retained their local character and you'll feel like you're in Thailand! The west coast of the island is a delight to explore and again this is on your doorstep. Take a long tail boat from the south west for a day and experience some excellent snorkeling, turquoise seas and lunch on a five island beach...truly stunning. Visit the Four Monkeys just along the beach for the best fresh coffee on the island and don't forget to pick up some fresh fruit from the stall just along road while you're there! It makes for a good breakfast after a dip in the sea or the pool.
What makes this Villa unique
The design of the house is unique on the rental market in Coconut River...cooler by far and less prone to problems with insects than the older wooden properties. We also have three bathrooms, one for each of the bedrooms which is unique to the Coconut River rental properties. Painted white both outside an in, with tiled floors throughout Coconut River 7 looks bright from the exterior and light and airy on the interior. You'll feel the difference particularly on the upper floor of the house. We have a wifi contract for multiple devices, which means you're all online as soon as you get here.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
This was an amazing home in an amazing location. It was the highlight of our trip to Thailand!
Fabulous villa for families near Bang Por beach
We're family of 5 stayed at villa for 6 days at the end of August
The Villa is large and very comfortable. it was really hot outside, but the vents inside are doing the job, and if it's really needed, the air conditioner can be used (we didn't use it).
The main bedroom upstairs has a beautiful porch that has a outstanding view.
The Villa's kitchen is highly equipped with all the necessary things...we loved the fruit shaker!
The outdoor pool is a charm, we used it every day for 1-2 hours. The water are clean and the waterfall sounds are relaxing.
The beach is like a minute walk from the Villa and is the most relaxing and the quietest one that I've ever seen in Koh Samui.
There are a lot of good restaurants 10 min walking from the villa...I recommend on Som
One small comment to the villa owner, I think you should add few accessories to the bathroom, such as shelves for shampoo and soap and containers.
For conclusion, I highly recommend renting this property
I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I will pass your comments about the bathroom, to the owner. I am sure he will consider it seriously.
Coconut River is a beachside development of just eight houses, six of which are for holiday makers. Bang Po beach is around three miles long and has views across the Gulf of Siam to Ang Thong national park and the lovely island of Koh Phangan. You can watch the sun set on them or take a short boat trip and visit them if you're feeling active. Many are content with our own tropical garden, glistening pool and beach which is swept daily. There are a range of very good and reasonable restaurants along the beach offering Thai and European food. It's nice to walk along the beach under the stars and take your pick! Local fishermen with small hand held nets, spears and lamps work the beach. We are to be found on the north west of the island, a quieter part of the island but still within easy reach of nearby villages and towns with their local shops and
markets. From small local food outlets charging little for excellent food to high class restaurants charging rather more Samui has it all in terms of dining! There are many beaches, walking street markets and shops to choose from whether they be small local traders or the upmarket plazas of Chaweng. Plenty of agents offer trips around the island, its jungle areas, waterfalls or scuba diving and snorkeling trips. We like to rent a long tail boat for the day, visit nearby islands, fish, snorkel and eat fresh fish on deserted sandy beaches fringed by turquoise seas! But if you just want to sit on the balcony and watch the wildlife in our own garden, you won't be disappointed! The birds and butterflies are a particular delight!
