5 Bedrooms And 5 Baths, Overlooking The Mediterranean
Villa Adorable is a luxury home, newly renovated and redecorated stone farmhouse. The house is from the 17th century, and ones served as a Clementine grove. The villa is embedded in a large garden on 5 levels, with a swimming pool, several outdoor eating areas, and table tennis. It even has a private Pétanque area.
There are 5 bedrooms, all with private bathrooms. There is the possibility to sleep a couple of more children, in the house. We have a bunk bed, a sleeping couch and a baby bed. But 10-12 adults, 2-4 children and a baby, is a definitive maximum for the house.
The two top floor bedrooms are air-conditioned. The others are on the ground floor, so less warm, but equipped with fans. From the living room, you enter the garden and an amazing terrace overlooking the Mediterranean and the different levels in the garden. Here, as in some of the other rooms, there is a fireplace.
The dining-room area, is next to an open style kitchen, and also opens up to the terrace.
As the house is located on many levels, it is very easy to retire and find privacy, if you are 2 families. Villa Adorable is perfect for 2 families and can actually house 3 families if necessary. Moreover, the garden offers many private areas, where you individually can find peace and calmness, while others are floating around the pool or playing pétanque, or maybe someone is cooking a pizza in our outdoor pizza-oven, probably one of our favourite things to do in the family.

About Niels Eskildsen
Villa Adorable is owned by the family Bernhoft and the family Eskildsen, both families lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. We have been coming to the Riviera for decades and we have alway been very attracted to Haut de Cagnes - mainly due to its incredible charm and seduction, its calmness and the very authenticity that the main square offers - Chateau de Grimaldi. We have decided to open our house up for rentals, and share the preciousness of our Villa Adorable. Once opening our house up for rental, we do ask our renters to respect our property, and treat it as if it was your own. Renting out our home, was not an easy decision, but since we do not have enough time to enjoy the house, we thought we better share the oasis with others.
Niels Eskildsen purchased this Villa in 2018
Why Niels Eskildsen chose Cagnes-sur-Mer
We fell in love with the village a long time ago, mostly because families and friends had been vacationing the village and surrounding area for many years. We first visited Villa Adorable in 2008, and fell in love immediately. The house offers many spectacular things and hide aways. Villa Adorable is located on a hilly side, and therefore the grounds/garden spreads over 4 levels. The garden area is very beautiful and has many different settings, there is a fig tree, a clementine groves, olives trees, beautiful flowers and many other indescribable hidden treasures.
What makes this Villa unique
Mostly because of the amazing garden the sea view and incredible charm of the house and the possibilities it offerers. The many levels the house and garden is located on, makes it very unique and cannot be described with proper words. Only experiencing this at first hand will get you closer to the uniqueness of our Villa Adorable.

Beautiful property , a real oasis
We spent three wonderful days at Villa adorable. The house is old but it has plenty of charm and the grounds are amazing. We loved coming back to the house at the end of the day as well as having breakfast outside in the morning
Thanks for your kind words, it's truly appreciated. Yes, the house is very old, and thanks for that because this is what makes it very unique. Nothing really compares to our house in the area.
wonderful house with superior location
This property continues to be a fantastic place for relaxed family vacation. The true value, other than the wonderful pool area, being that everything is within walking distance.
Beautiful House & Stunning Gardens
The house and the gardens are absolutely stunning. The host and the housekeeper went out of their way to accommodate our check-in, stay and check-out. The rooms and groups areas are generous and well appointed. The weather was divine and we took every opportunity to use the pool and alfresco dining areas. Very minor comment would be to perhaps provide toilet paper, mosquito repellent (candles or plug-in devices) and coals for the outdoor oven. Overall we were so pleased with the accommodation and we had a delightful weekend. Would highly recommend!!
Beautiful property in southern France.
The property is divided on four levels and each bedroom had its own bathroom allowing for plenty of privacy. The kitchen was large and equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. The huge terraced garden and pool area are filled with amazing Mediterranean scents with plenty of charming nooks to explore. Ms Vargas was wonderful and answered every question. We can't wait to revisit this beautiful property in the future.
Tip: Best not to rent a large car as you may have trouble negotiating the narrow roads surrounding the property even though parking is available.
Historic house with modern amenities
Perfect for living out fantasies of mediterranean family life! We stayed for a reunion of family members from Turkey and the States. We all loved cooking at the outdoor kitchen and drinking wine on the terrace late into the evening. The neighborhood is quiet and the large terraced yard provides a backdrop reminiscent of centuries prior. The village of Haut de Cagnes boasts several scenic little restaurants and a castle/museum up the trail behind the property (the top is also a great place to catch a sunset over the sea!) Short drive to Nice and the other Cote d'Azur cities. The house is rambling and romantic, with lots of staircases. Very kid friendly, with baskets of toys in a large open sitting area and a secured pool. Well equipped with linens, reliable appliances, and cooking supplies; there's a cheap grocery store (Lidl, similar to Aldi) nearby. The coordinator, Eva, was helpful, speaks perfect English, and easy to contact with any questions.
Months later my kids are still talking about that house. It was perfect for our trip and we would love to return one day!
Charming rambling villa terracing down its own secret garden over five levels
We had a family reunion over Christmas and New year in this charming villa., It is in an excellent location, close enough to walk to the lower village shops each morning yet private enough to feel like you were in the country.
Plenty of terraces to have late afternoon drinks in the warm winter sunshine, we were lucky with the weather. The heating was a little bit temperamental but you would expect that in such an old house, very warm in the lower house, perfect in the living / kitchen area and a little bit cooler in the Romeo and Juliet room with its own private balcony, however there were plenty of quilts and blankets to compensate, my daughters loved this room.
Anna the housekeeper was friendly and very helpful and was on hand immediately to sort out any issues. There are two access points to the property, ample car parking in the garage at the lower road level, but a bit of a trek up with bags to the house, there is higher level road which takes you to the mid level living areas but be warned its narrow with a hairpin bend and Australian drivers are used to bigger roads, so it's tricky.
This villa would be sensational during summer, with its pool and summer kitchen and recreation area, you would never want to leave.
In summary this is one of the most memorable holidays that we as a family have had and I believe a lot of that is due to this fantastic house.
Thanks so much for the great description of the house, and thanks for all the great things you said about the house. I tell you its something very unique in the summer also.
I will make sure that we address the issue with the heating, during the colder season, but the heat has to travel up 5 floors and that makes it very difficult to evenly distribute the heating out the all rooms. Especially since the house is so old.
Let me know if we can be of help to you with any future travel arrangements and I will be more than happy to try an accommodate you.

Villa Adorable is located only a few minutes walk from the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes and the medieval castle once owned by the Grimaldi dynasty (the Royal family of Monaco). Haut de Cagnes is a cosy village and has been maintained successfully over the years and offers an alternative to the concrete of the modern French Riviera. The district of Le Haut-de-Cagnes was listed as a historical site in 1948. It has held on to the calm atmosphere of a village with its history-laden stones, its shady, narrow streets decorated with flowers, and its unique viewpoints over the Mediterranean. A number of artists, in love with the Mediterranean light, settled down in this pretty village known as 'The Montmartre of the Côte d’Azur'. The village also attracted celebrities from the universe of the arts and theatre until the 1960s. Know artists and writers are; Renoir, Soutine, Klein, Foujita, Modigliani, Derain, Georges Simenon, John Lewis, Brigitte Bardot and Greta Garbo. Most of whom had either lived here or vacation for a longer period of time. There is a free shuttle (Navette) that will take you through the village of Haut de Cagnes, and ends up at the local square in Cagnes sur Mer, very close to various shopping possibilities, like the supermarket Casino. Maybe a little more interesting is the market - Les commerçants de la Cité Marchande, which is open from Monday to Thursday from 7.30 until 13 and Friday from 730 – 19, where locals from the surrounding areas sell there home grown vegetables and products. The shuttle is very convenient if you have a lot of groceries to carry or if you are with kids in strollers, as you will be able to travel all the way up to the famous ”Place de la Chateau”, in Haut de Cagnes. Villa Adorable is located very conveniently, as we are very close to Haut de Cagnes, yet also very close to the shopping that Cagnes sur Mer offers. Villa Adorable is very close to many various things; Nice Airport 15 min, Antibes 15 min, Cannes 25 min, Juan les Pins 20 min, several golf courses within 1 hour drive - closet being Biot Golf, shopping for groceries only 5 minutes away on foot.
