Only minutes from downtown Tucson and the Spanish Mission of San Xavier del Bac built in 1692 lies this gem of a wilderness property in the Great Sonoran Desert. Occupying a site overlooking the Saguaro National Park, this Pueblo revival home is made from stabilized Adobe with walls that are more than two feet thick to keep out the desert heat and cold. Originally built as a small winter cottage for a family from Connecticut, this home is in the only place on earth where Saguaro cacti can be experienced in abundance. Bordering the Tucson Mountain Park, the estate sits on 10 acres of pure privacy with immediate access to the park's walking trails. While frequently visited by wolves and deer, as well as Javelina, Moutainside Place is only minutes from the Starr Pass Golf Club and Resort. As members of the club, guests who stay at Casa de Saguaro can have full access to the golf course as well as the resorts spa and pools including a lazy river.

Beautiful adobe home in the hills
Our family had a wonderful stay here. There was plenty of space to stretch out and the kids loved he jacuzzi! Being among the saguaros is so peaceful... we would definitely come back! Thank you again for your hospitality.
Michael, thank you for being such great guests. I am so glad you and your family could find some time together in this special place. You’re welcome back any time. You might want to consider some of our other properties in Mississippi or Montana.
Magical place among the giant cacti
The beds were cozy. The view was amazing. The property was very private but not secluded. The only unfortunate thing was our stay was too short. The property owner John was friendly and responded immediately to a few questions we had upon arrival. Wish we were still there......
Tucson Two Week Stay
Absolutely loved this home. We have been coming to Tucson for 40 years and keep staying longer during our business/leisure stay. First Class Everything!
Dear Cynthia and Hugh: It was an absolutely delight having you stay at our home for the Gem show. You were the best guests ever and we hope you come back!! John Wright
Great stay in beautiful home and setting!
Our family of four (two adult kids) stayed here in January 2018.
The home is even more lovely than the photos indicate.
The owner and caretaker were wonderfully helpful and thorough.
The setting is in the hills west of Tucson, a 10-15-minute drive to services. The home is perched on a ridge, with views in 270 degrees, with solitude from neighbors.
The bedrooms are well-furnished and inviting, and the beds comfortable and supportive. One note: the King guest bedroom doesn't have a ceiling below the roof line, so noise travels easily in and out of the room over the full-height walls and into the adjacent hallway and kitchen area. Just a note for those wanting high privacy (or light sleepers). Our twenty-something snored quite happily...
The public spaces were well furnished, comfortable, and offered beautiful views out the many windows.
Overall, a lovely, well-appointed base for our exploration of both Tucson and the surrounding mountains and region! Would definitely recommend to other travelers.
Thank you Charlie for choosing to stay with us. I hope you got some great pictures and enjoyed the parks! Please come again. Best Regards, John
Incredible desert gem
We had a perfect family Christmas in this charming home. The authentic adobe courtyard home truly was an oasis of peaceful serenity, and we enjoyed every moment. Loved the hot tub under the stars and mountain biking and hiking trails. We will be back, John!
Thank you Lolly for being such gracious guests. I genuinely appreciate your kindness and style. Please come back. You and your family are simply made for this property!
