A Peaceful, Central Flat with Stunning Views
The owner, Sebastiano, was helpful and friendly. We were made to feel very welcome.
The flat was perfect for us (two adults and two teenagers). The roof terrace was amazing - large enough to enjoy meals al fresco with panoramic views over Venice. We had a lovely time and hope to return before long.
Good location, fabulous outdoor deck
Host was pleasant, lights not working and he had them fixed. Clean, kitchen had the basics, but watch your head on the multiple low roof sections. Deck was beautiful, we would stay there again.
This apartment was perfect for us. Location, style, and that VIEW from the terrace!
The apartment was lovely. Everything was in great shape, with modern fixtures, etc. Good wifi, good air conditioning. Communication with the owner was straightforward. The bedroom arrangement was perfect for our family, with a private double bedroom and an open loft with two single beds for our young adult children. The San Polo neighborhood is a bit less touristy than other areas, but has plenty of great restaurants, bars and shops. Two small supermarkets are nearby. Nowhere in Venice is really far away, and it was great to walk away from the mobs in San Marco and head home, up the 77 steps (you get used to them) and into a peaceful sanctuary. The very best part is up a few more stairs to the rooftop terrace, with views across the roftops of Venice in every direction. Absolutely incredible! We spent hours up there watching the swooping birds, listening to the church bells, spying on the boats in the canal directly below, and of course enjoying some nice wine. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
Perfectly situated apartment with spectacular views across the rooftops of Venice.
Well equipped, quirky apartment with rooftop terrace. Minutes from Rialto bridge yet in a quiet spot. Air conditioning, TV, well equipped kitchen (all be it tight on space) with a separate bedroom and mezzanine sleeping area. Ideal for 4 adults or older children. Views over the rooftops and canal just minutes from The Grand Canal with a plentiful array of tourst shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars on your doorstep. The host is very helpful and accommodating just a text or phone call away.
If I am ever lucky enough to return to Venice I will be booking this apartment again. Just beware the 70 odd steps to the apartment (but well worth the effort) and limited headroom in certain areas.
Location was great and value hight
Sebastiano was prompt, friendly, flexible and even offered to help with thoughts on tours, and best ways to spend our time. He gave us some closeby restaurant tips too, which were helpful. The photos for the property do not do the roof top deck justice. It was a fantastic spot for morning coffee with views of the canal and bridge below as well as the panoramic vista over Venician rooftops and spires. We would stay here again in a minutes. Be ready for stairs :-) !
Great location and good views from the roof terrace
The San Polo apartment was in a great location just off San Polo square - 10 minutes walk to the rail station, 10 minutes walk to the Rialto and 5 minutes walk to the nearest vaporetto.
Sebastian was very communicative and helpful, as was Giulio who met us and showed us to the apartment very promptly.
Be prepared to walk up several flights of steps to the apartment, and up and down different levels in the apartment. As described, there are sloping ceilings and the kitchen and bathroom are a squeeze. The apartment is basic but has everything you need. And it was very clean.
The San Polo sestiere has its origins around its main square “ Campo San Polo” the largest of the city, second only to Saint mark’ s square. a fairly small district with lots of secretive lanes, some interesting sights including the Rialto Bridge, and shopping ranging from glove shops to the famous Rialto fruit, vegetable and fish marketplace. It's atmospheric and contains some useful addresses for shopping and for eating. Campo San Polo, the area's hub, is a large open space in Venice; a wide, irregular, dusty sort of square where local children and pet dogs run and play while adults chat. In the summer there's an open-air cinema here.
