Welcome to LaPine’s Riviera des Chutes cabin in the woods. This 1400 + square foot retreat with 500 feet of decks is the perfect year-around get-away. Located on the Little Deschutes River, it features all wood interior with huge cathedral windows opening to the wooded meadow, barbeque deck and hot tub.
Privacy is the operative word here. Relax, enjoy and bask in the quiet of this beautiful Central Oregon A-Frame. Climate is dry, with snow in the winter and lots of blue sky all summer long. Year around temperature at night is cool even in the hottest summer days.
Mt. Bachelor, Oregon’s premier ski area is within an hours drive, and the Deschutes National forest offers wonderful outdoor activities, including golf, fishing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, canoeing and rafting. The area is dotted with lakes and surrounded by geological points of interest, including Fort Rock and Newberry Crater, one of the most recent volcanoes within the contiguous United States, featuring cinder cones, twisted lava, and year-around ice caves. The nearby Big Deschutes is considered one of the nation’s best fishing and recreation rivers.
Just got back from the cabin and we had a great time. The amenities were great and despite having other homes close by, it feels like you're all alone. Our only complaint was the water pressure being a bit low when you're taking a shower. Other than that we loved it and we'll be back.
It was a great place to stay and having a trail at the river was so nice for an evening walk. the parking was great. we had lots of room for all the trucks.
Very beautiful property, very well taken care of, definitely will be going back
Everything about our stay; from the moment I first contacted Lauren regarding availability, until the time we checked out, was terrific.
Communication was prompt, smooth, and friendly, directions couldn't have been more clear, and the instructions were foolproof.
It took a little trial and error to get the TV/BluRay/Sound bar up and running, and I'm still not sure exactly how the hot tub works, but we eventually got everything working perfectly.
The cabin itself almost belies description, it's so incredible. Easily one of the nicest in the area, extremely fairly priced, and absolutely beautiful inside and out. Honestly, I'm at a bit of a loss for words to describe how much we loved it.
We explored the nearby trails and park area, and not only did we see a herd of 40-50 Roosevelt Elk about as up close and personal as you could hope for, we acquired a companion for our walks in the form of one of the neighbors dogs. We were just walking on the road when a big brown dog came bounding over, sniffed us, and then followed us over hill and dale for the next couple of hours. We played some serious games of fetch the stick, tromped around in the snow, and got some great pictures. At the end of our walk, the dog, who we dubbed Barkley, left his stick on the front porch before he went back to wherever he came from.
The next day we went on another, even longer walk, but there was no sign of Barkley. However, on the morning we were scheduled to check out, we decided to go for one more walk after cleaning up the cabin, and I brought the fetch stick just for fun. Within a few minutes, and seemingly from out of nowhere, our buddy Barkley came running over and joined us for one last adventure of pine cone catching, snow eating, picture taking, and stick fetching.
We couldn't have been happier with the entire experience, and I give the cabin my highest possible recommendation. Great weather, gorgeous cabin, beautiful wildlife, a friendly dog, and wonderful photo opportunities everywhere. Thanks to Lauren and Tammy for such a pleasant stay and some fantastic, life-long memories.

We recently stayed at the Riviera Des Chutes cabin. We couldn't get enough of the place. This was the absolute perfect winter getaway. The cabin was gorgeous and rustic. The property was large and had breathtaking views. Everything was clean and tidy. More than enough supplies for your every need. Dog friendly - which was great because we love taking our fur balls when we travel. We will definitely be back here some day soon! Possibly in the summer - I'm curious how it looks without all the snow!
