The home is centered on a 320-acre cattle ranch in the foothills of the Elkhorn Ridge of the Blue Mountains. The house is at 4,200 ft elevation and the ridge rises to 9,000 ft. Two small streams flow through the property where you can fish or wade or 'swim' in a deep spot. Hiking, riding, snowmobiling, mountain biking, sledding, hunting and cross country skiing are as close as the front door while Baker and Union counties offer countless more opportunities. Anthony Lakes ski area is famous for powder snow and is only is 19 miles away. Water skiing and sail boarding are nearby.

Another great ski trip in the books. We had a fabulous time and the house was perfect. Thank you.
We enjoy our time here so much!
Had a wonderful time skiing at AL. The views from the property are amazing.
Always love going to Chandler Ranch
What is there to not love. The views are amazing, the house comfortable and it is close to Anthony lakes.
Always a joy to be at Chandler Ranch!
We loved the big sky views and cozy yet roomy cabin. Accommodated our group of three families well.
Hidden in plain sight.
We keep coming back to this magical place.
If you’re looking for a relaxing stay with spectacular scenery, then this is your home.
Well appointed and spacious enough for several couples or a large family.
Can’t wait to return.
Inadequate water in the house for half our stay! Unresponsive owner.
My family gathered together to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday from June 2-5 of 2017. I would love to give this house a 5-star rating because the house itself and the setting was wonderful. There was major problem with the water pressure - as in not enough pressure to shower or run the dishwasher. The local manager & my husband devoted a couple of days to getting the problem solved (a local well repair guy finally fixed the pump ); in the meantime we waited around the house most of the day Sat. and Sun. for the repairs to be made - forgoing the excursions we had planned...
I notified the owner Ms Hulegaard of our disappointment and suggested a refund of one or possibly two nights stay, since 8 of us were unable to shower Fri./Sat./Sun.
She promised to respond within the week after - she traveled to OR to meet with her local manager.....that was four months ago and not a word.
I hate to leave a bad review but feel that it's only fair at this point. Perhaps Ms Hulegaard will be more fair to her future guests if they should have a problem with their stay.
The City of Haines, population 420, is 8-miles away, with Baker City, population 9,800, 20-miles away providing the comforts of small town needs. Baker Valley, an agricultural center of industry, was a thriving gold mining center in its history with numerous ghost towns to explore. The Oregon Trail passed through the valley below the Ranch where the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center is about 25-miles away. Deer, elk, coyote, turkey, bear and other wild animals live on the Ranch and can be seen from the comforts of the house or outside on the decks. The Ranch includes both forest and open fields. During the summer cattle graze just outside of the yard. This home was designed and built for vacations, and was completed in January 2003. We have tried to include everything to make your stay comfortable. The nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away so privacy and quiet is assured.
