About Leslie Allen
We have lived in Southern New Hampshire for twelve years and love going to the lakes region. We love Suncook Lake and look forward to sharing our lake home with guests.
Leslie Allen purchased this House in 2017
Why Leslie Allen chose Barnstead
After visiting friends on the lake numerous times we fell in love with the lake and this property.
What makes this House unique
This is a great home because it is very easy for two families to rent it together and feel like you have your own space. Two master suites are located on the top floor and in the walkout basement. We get the most beautiful sunsets over the lake, and we have fantastic neighbors too!

Pictures don’t do it justice
Pictures do not do this home justice. Beautiful, well appointed home with high end kitchen.
My family all enjoyed time on the water in the canoe and kayak despite the cooler temps.
The home was a perfect home base to explore NH and the coast of Maine.
Owners were very accommodating and accessible.
All wished we could stay longer.
Our family enjoyed our stay at Moosehead Lodge so much we want to return every year. Both upper and lower Suncook lakes are beautiful, clean, quiet and have great fishing. My 3 and 4 year old grandchildren caught bass, perch and a catfish! We saw eagles on upper Suncook and enjoyed kayaking everyday. The house is beautifully decorated and has all the comforts of a luxury home. We loved Weir’s beach! It’s is a short drive and has all the amusements of an old fashioned seaside boardwalk. Wolfboro is a charming town also close by. Mt Major has a spectacular view of Lake Winnipesaukee from the top. The golf courses near by are all good. We can’t really put into words how much fun we had at Moosehead Lodge. Thank you Allen family for sharing your wonderful home!
This is our third time renting this property. We are just in love with it. A gorgeous home, well kept and updated. Perfect location for us. The lake is stunning and peaceful. Close enough to many attractions.
Beautiful house and location
The owner of the property anticipates all your needs. She has linens, beach towels, apple chargers, an unbelievable kitchen and Laundry detergent for your laundry needs. Her style is one that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable while your on vacation.
It was our second trip, we still love it there.
We love the house and the location- so much so that we are looking forward to our third stay.
Beautiful Lake House with All the Upgrades
This house is stunning! The pictures do NOT do this house justice!!! The view, kitchen, decor and amenities are all perfect. We were fortunate that it snowed while we were there which made our stay complete. The kitchen is well stocked with top of the line appliances. The bathroom, laundry/mud area at entrance was ideal to unload all of our snow gear. The layout of the bedrooms were perfect for our young family. Plenty of room to sleep a couple of small families or one large group. The loft stairs were a little too steep so we kept our children from going up but they did enjoyed the few toys we could bring down for them. The basement has plenty of movies and board games to keep you entertained plus a pool table! Ms. Pac-Man machine hidden in the cabinet was a special treat for these 80s kids. We had such a blast here it was so hard to leave.
The area has SO MANY things to do there is no way to do everything in one visit. The locals are so friendly and helpful.
Thank you Leslie and family for sharing your beautiful lake house!!!! We can’t wait for our next trip!
Concord, NH is only a 30 minute drive all the large stores such as Target, movies, restaurants, etc. are near. A great grocery store is located about 10 miles north of property in Alton Bay. Local Country Store to get your basics and gas is a mile up the road with smaller town grocery and pharmacy 5 miles south of the property. Dock is taken out in late fall and put back after the ice melts.
