If you are looking for a holiday in Provence by the sea, this large bright luxurious 3-bedroomed property is an ideal base from which to relax or explore and is in the beautiful medieval village of Bormes Les Mimosas. With stunning wide views down to the sea from the balcony and living areas it is quiet and yet very close to amenities. The apartment is 120m2 and comfortably sleeps 6 and has WiFi.

From the quiet street entrance there is a single flight of stairs to the first floor where the apartment is located.

It is ideally located for easy day trips and for the lovely beaches, vineyards and walking distance to good restaurants and the weekly market. There is a boulangerie at the end of the road for morning croissants (1 minute walk).

The apartment is decorated in a contemporary style, with a tiled floor throughout and is very comfortable. It contains many extras that you would expect at home and is great for a family, a couple or a group of friends. Three bedrooms - 2 double bedrooms with king size beds and 1 twin bedroom with large single beds. 1 bathroom with a bath and shower and twin sinks and 1 shower room. There is a separate WC.

The apartment has a beautiful large sunny open plan living/dining/kitchen room which opens out (5 sets of French windows) onto a balcony running the entire length of the apartment from where to enjoy the lovely views down to the sea and the Iles D'or beyond.

Fully equipt for a very comfortable holiday with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, 4-ring hob and oven, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave oven, Bosch washing machine and Bosch tumble drier, two TV's and DVD players (a library of DVDs) CD player and plenty of books and games for the family. Bose speaker. There are cooling room fans for the summer months. Heating is available in the winter months (at an additional surcharge).

About Nicola Collinson

Having holidayed in the area a number of times we found and bought our apartment in 2005. We have spent many lovely holidays here with our children and our friends. We love the area with its beautiful beaches, the wonderful flowers and scenery and of course the sunshine and local wines! It is a great base for road cycling or mountain biking in the hills behind the village - a regular pastime for the family. The apartment is one of 5 within a large old french building combining french charm with modern living.

The apartment is on the doorstep of many fine restaurants, cafes and shops (no need to take the car) in the medieval village of Bormes Les Mimosas. A Boulangerie for morning croissants and bread is only a minutes walk away (opens at 7 am every day).

A large supermarket (Le Casino) is a short drive away on the road to Le Lavandou which sells the usual goods plus has a great fresh fish section. A smaller general store is available in the village which stocks essentials. Lots of other shops/cafes and restaurants in nearby Le Lavandou - many speciality shops - fishmonger, butchers, fresh veg, gift and clothes shops, deli etc .

There's a weekly market in the village and another in Bormes le Pins which is at the bottom of the village towards the road to Le Lavandou. There's also a larger market on Sundays in nearby La Londe. Plus there's a wonderful market in St Tropez (Tues and Sat), and also in the interesting old town of Hyeres nearby.

The village has 2 beautiful old churches, a small castle and a museum of art and history.

Bormes is well known for it's wonderful flowers - houses and terraces drip with creepers and purple bougainvillea. It also has the highest density of Mimosa trees on the Riviera and each year a festival is dedicated to them.

There's a popular petanque area where locals and visitors play.

The village is on the edge of the Massif des Maures, a suprisingly wild and remote mountain area with wooded slopes and winding roads that lead up to the Col du Babaou. It is an area of massive cork oak and chestnut tress. It is a lovely area for walking, cycling or driving through to admire the views.

Accessible by boat or ferry from the nearby towns of Le Lavandou and Hyeres are the Iles D'or - Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Levant. Beautiful Islands - on Porquerolles you can hire bikes and cycle round, walk or just swim in the clear waters from the white sandy beaches. In the summer you can also take a boat to St Tropez. Port Cros is a nature reserve which prohibits cars and bicycles so you can just walk around this beautiful, quiet island and swim in the sea filled with fish! There are lovely restaurants on the islands.

Golf - There are several golf courses in the area, the nearest being Valcros at La Londe and Ste Maxime.

Water sports- Sailing is available at the Port de Bormes and boats can be hired at Bormes, Le Lavandou and Cavaliere nearby.

Cycling - Bikes can be hired in le lavandou and on Porquerols island.
