CASA NOVA a tastefully restored and decorated bright and colorful apartment in the very heart of the old town of Foz do Arelho. The apartment has 1 large triangular front terrace over with seating for the whole family, which is ideal for quiet relaxation and sunbathing.
The apartment is clean and fresh and extremely well decorated to a high standard. The location is absolutely ideal if you do not have a car as everything is in walking distance including some fine restaurants, cafes and a mini-market for everyday provisions.
Both elegant bedrooms are location on the upper level and both have excellent natural light through large french windows and balconies.
This group of 5 apartments is low rise and is converted from what was a substantial town house property in the centre of town. Foz do Arelho has one central artery with side streets that have really beautifully restored old fishermen’s cottages and village dwellings going back several hundred years. The main town of Foz do Arelho is a short 2 minute drive away where you can also access the lagoon and other beach areas which that are alive with activity with its water sports, bars and restaurants. The place if full of charm and character and remains today quite similar to the old fishing village it used to be many years ago.
This is a comfortable property that has been in our family for a number of years and shows the benefit of some careful restorations to its present condition. The apartment used to be part of an elegant home that was originally build over 100 years ago and had fallen into disuse. Of course it has been very tastefully restored now and we have been looking after visitors for some years now.
I believe the main selling point is location. All the amenities are just short walk away. There is quick access to the beach and promenade but also the old spa town of Caldas da Rainha is within a few minutes in the other direction. On the way into Caldas da Rainha, you can join the A8 motorway (4 miles away) and from there also get the A15 and A1.
The village of Foz do Arelho is just a few minutes’ walk away with some small supermarkets, a bank with cash machine, taxi rank, bars and restaurants. The main beach is a 10 minute walk away and is lined with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. The larger town of Caldas da Rainha is just 8 km away and it is here you will find larger supermarkets and retail outlets for the more serious shoppers. There is also a new shopping mall called Vivace complete with cinema complex, supermarket, electrical chain store, designer shops and an international food court that is extremely popular with young kids and teenagers.
The medieval castle of Obidos is just 8 km away; here you'll find a wide variety of keepsakes and other treasures to remember its mystical nature. You can enjoy a brisk or leisurely walk along the ramparts of the old castle and then settle down to some well-earned refreshments in one of the many delightful cafes or bars on the high street.
The Praia D'el Rey golf course, which was voted European Golf resort of the year 2007, is a 30 minute drive away and the Atlantic Golf course located in Peniche is about a 30 minute drive too.

End of vacation cleaning is not included in the rental price but charged extra @ Euro €55/-. Please ask the owner about this if you have any doubts.
The cost of electricity, water and gas are all included in the rental price during the peak season. There is an extra winter and cold weather heating charge @ GB £15/- per night. winter and cold weather heating is an optional extra.
There is a 30% initial booking deposit that is payable by bank transfer immediately upon confirming the reservation. The balance rental amount of 70% is payable 4 weeks before arrival. Changeover day is Saturday during the High and Peak seasons, but flexible other periods. There is also a refundable breakage deposit of Euro €200/- payable in cash on arrival. Refund will be done on departure.
