Tranquility near the beaches

  • 5 of 5

My family spent a week at this wonderful property. On a dead end street, a few blocks from the beach, at the base of Diamondhead, this is a unique house. Fully appointed with views of the flora and fauna, no noise except for the birds chirping in the morning, this is paradise. Yet, you can walk to Waikiki Beach,if you want, or take advantage of smaller, more secluded beaches a short distance from the house. The management is excellent and accessible. I hate to post this review because we'd like to keep it our little secret but that wouldn't be fair.

Tree House Retreat

  • 4 of 5

What a wonderful location! Close to everything yet you feel you are far away in a jungle paradise. It is obvious that extra care was taken to provide wonderfully appointed accommodations. We loved being serenated by birds every morning and listening to the waves crash at night. Thank you Jo for making us feel so comfortable throughout our stay!!

Fantastic vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic location! Your backyard is literally the base of Diamondhead, so you are within walking distance of beautiful beaches or a short drive from Waikiki. The house is set back from the street in a small valley, so it is extremely quiet, the only sounds were the birds. The street and surrounding properties are gorgeous, and the owner's property at the top of the ridge commands a stunning view, which you will admire. Our family of four was very comfortable here, at times we opted just to stay at home rather than going out. The kitchen is well appointed and there are great places to entertain small groups, both indoors and out, including a gas grill. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner, he takes great care of the property and was responsive to all our needs. I could easily stay here again.

Diamond Head jungle cottage

  • 5 of 5

I travel a lot for business, and always stay in hotels. Because I needed to be in Hawaii for a couple of weeks, I booked this cottage as an alternative. It was perfect - it is in the most amazing neighborhood on Oahu and literally walking distance (about one mile) to the beaches of Waikiki. (Neighborhood beach is just two blocks away.) However, this cottage is totally quiet and secluded; surrounded by beautiful foliage and landscape. The cottage itself was so much better than I expected and than the pictures - expenses weren't spared when this structure was restored and Jo had it spotless when I arrived. I would not only recommend this place to anyone who can handle the steps to get to it, but I plan to rent it twice per year while I'm in HI on business (as long as it's available).

Thanks so much for everything, Jo!

We loved this place as its feels like you are tucked away in the Hawaian jungle while at the same time its so close to everything. We could walk to some great surf spots and also to Waikiki. Joseph, was a great host always helpful in a timely manner. I can highly recommend to stay there .

This house (fully furnished) is so wonderfully located on a dead end street in a lushly vegetated area with spectacular views and the sound of birds singing could be heard all day long. It is directly below Diamond Head and is slightly lower in a ravine below the main house and it takes 3 flights of stairs to get down to it but you don't mind as it feels so secluded and so quiet. I immediately felt very at home there and have and will recommend to friends or family that are planning a stay in Oahu. Even though it is secluded and quiet it is easy to get to activities and downtown even if you don't rent a car as at the end of the dead end street connecting with Diamond Head Road is a bus stop. I recommend a car rental because of the steep drive to get to it; also, the owners allow you to park inside their property behind a secure gate. Also a lovely quite not busy park next to the Ocean with a beach for swimming and tables for picnicking. The owners were so accommodating and welcoming to any of needs. I am very grateful for them providing this rental home as it may my stay so enjoyable. If I am ever back I would rent again.
