About Leora Sheridan Vincenti

Leora Sheridan Vincenti and David Vincenti own and manage the family owned property that is opened year round. Leora and Dave began renovating property one cabin at a time in in 2001.

Leora Sheridan Vincenti purchased this cottage in 1965

Why Leora Sheridan Vincenti chose Central Virginia

Our grandfather bought this property in the 1950's when he retired from Bethlehem Steel. He wanted to live in the mountains and was interested in land conservation and preservation. We are the third generation to call this property our home and we love to share it's natural beauty with friends, travelers, and families.

What makes this cottage unique

Incredibly beautiful area of Albemarle County. Nature & Wildlife Watching. Fishing. Relaxation. Fresh air. Proximity to culture of University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Crozet and Skyline and Blue Ridge Drive! Large amount of wineries, breweries and cider works in the surrounding area. Surrounded by farmland, parks and orchards with stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Reclusive, peaceful setting with much to offer

  • 5 of 5

The Montfair Farm provides a relaxing escape by offering scenic views; opportunities to explore the woods through wonderful trails; and cozy, comfortable cabins. The owners/office staff are very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our short trip to Humpback Mountain that was recommended and our visit to Charlottesville. The food and coffee in Crozet was also delicious. My partner enjoyed fishing and canoeing while I enjoyed hiking and biking the trails.

Once I got over the fact that I did not have phone access at the cabin, and that the internet was slow and spotty, I enjoyed this vacation as much as any I have taken. In fact, the lack of connectivity most likely greatly enhanced the relaxation.

The A-frame cabin would be perfect for a couple with teenagers or older children, but the steep stairs to the loft is prohibitive for very young children, older people or those with disabilibites. Montfair offers a reclusive, peaceful setting and is a wonderful retreat. Thank you so much to the attentive staff.

It was everything we needed in one sweet package!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at the PawPaw over Easter weekend. The pictures do not do it justice- it is so much more unique and beautiful than the pictures suggest.. It was obviously carefully built and beautifully maintained. Additionally, it was impeccably clean. While the home is very small, we had just what we needed. I was able to cook all of our meals without problems. We really enjoyed the trails and the canoes. We even caught a bonfire. It was really a weekend of simply living. We would love to return.

A great place for our wedding!!

  • 5 of 5

We are so happy that we chose Montfair Resort Farm as the location for our wedding. Not only was the scenery beautiful and the space supremely adequate, but the staff was extremely helpful and anxious to make our special day perfect for us and our guests.

The rustic lodge provided the perfect atmosphere for our rehearsal dinner and reception. There was plenty of room for tables and a buffet... and afterward we had lots of room for dancing and socializing. The children loved throwing rocks in the pond and playing outside. Meanwhile, many of our guests stayed in some of the cabins which they found very pleasant. They said that there was plenty of room and the enjoyed the serenity of the woods.

Among the best attributes of a wedding at Montfair is being able to spend an entire weekend with our friends and family who had traveled so far to be there (we had guests come from France and Sweden in addition to across the US). It gave us a common place to meet up, relax and socialize. The location is also perfect with so many great attractions nearby - Shenandoah National Park & Monticello.

The staff and Montfair really went out of their way to make sure our event went off perfectly. Even when we had a crisis, thinking that one of our vendors had forgotten our table clothes, the staff at Montfair quickly jumped into action and called the vendor and found what we were missing. It was really great that the staff knows the vendors in the area and could help coordinate the event. We really appreciated the Montfair staff taking a sincere interest in our event.

We stayed in the Main House as our honeymoon suite and it turned out to be the perfect place for everyone to dress up for the wedding and it was very comfortable to stay in. We had the bridal party prepare in one bedroom and the groomsman prepare in the other bedroom. Perfect! The bedrooms and living areas were all very clean and tidy. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and drinks. Highly recommended!

All together, we had a beautiful and supremely enjoyable wedding at Montfair. The people there are kind and very happy to help. We recommend Montfair to everyone and we've already talked about celebrating our anniversary there.
