About Müjdat Sansal

I was born in Istanbul in 1955, but i moved to Munich in 1970. 1996, after traveling a lot in Turkey we stumbled over a little village called Kayaköy. There my wife and me found this beautyful piece of land and so we bought it. Then, after saving some money, i finally built the house in 2004. The first years i used it as a private holiday home for my family and me, but when the demands got more i placed an ad on the internet. My wife and me named the house after our son Tamay. We love sharing our house with nature-loving people and sometimes we even get to meet our guests what is a great experience for its own. My son helps me with the communication to my customers with his englsh-skills. I hope you could get to know me better.

Müjdat Sansal purchased this villa in 1996

Why Müjdat Sansal chose Turkey

My childhood-dream was it to own a real stone house with a natural garden and surrounding wildlife.

What makes this villa unique

Imagine a 3000m² area just for you and your loved ones.

Imagine waking up to birds tweeting in the morning.

Imagine getting surprised by small creatures like frogs or turtles in the garden.

Beautiful Villa in Quiet Location

  • 5 of 5

Perfect Villa for relaxing holiday yet near to bustling Fethiye and Hisaronou.

Villa Tamay is well cared for with delightful gardens and beautiful pool. We were grandparents with our daughter and husband and 18 month old toddler and everything was perfect in the Villa and Kayakoy.

We arrived in the evening to Dalaman and were met by Taxi arranged by the owner which we would recommend as finding the Villa would be a challenge at night! Its tucked away down narrow lane away from the village. No problem when you have seen it in the daylight.

The villa is spacious and well cared for, pool cleaned every day.

We were there Sept 12-26 and air con not really needed as daytime temp around 26-29C . My wife and daughter appreciated having the air con in bedroom at night though. There is no air con in living areas which may be an issue in hotter months.

The WiFi is via mobile dongle, basically 3G speed, and had not been topped up when we arrived, this took a couple of days for owner to attend to. The top up only lasted a few days as we were using it for wi fi mobile calls and streaming music. The owner was not keen to provide more so we paid £24 to get more data in mobile shop in Hisaronou. This lasted us about a week.if WiFi is important then bear this in mind.We would have preferred to have known the set up beforehand.

The villas either side appear to be owned by Turkish families one of whom keep hens, you will be awoken by the cockerels early in morning and by the call to prayers from the mosques nearby at 5AM !

The Antik Restaurant at entrance to ghost Village is lovely.

Boat trips can be arranged at Fethiye Harbour by strolling along the Marina and booking for a few days ahead or the next day even if its a quieter time like September. We paid 500 Lira for private hire for our group of 4 plus toddler.

A fantastic holiday and we found Villa Tamay a perfect base to enjoy this beautiful area and lovely people!

we would recommend villa and the owner

and would love to return.

lovely villa in rural location for amazing holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing week at Villa Tamay. The villa was perfect ( i can't think of anything negative to say about it), it was comfortable, clean, pool was lovely, aircon in the bedrooms worked well, bathrooms were nice, the village so peaceful but really nice restaurants locally in the village and only a short drive to either Olu denim or Fethiye so a great location. We were really happy that we had hired a car as it meant no waiting around for the dolmas. So much to do in the area, our kids age 7 and 9 had a brilliant holiday and we did something different every day - beach, lagoon, jeep tour with water guns (must with kids), river rafting, paragliding, camel rides, kayak ghost village, plenty of pool time, paragliding, turkish Hamam, shopping and lots of lovely meals out. Also Mujdat the owner was so helpful, there was an issue with the wifi when we first arrived but he got straight on the case and sorted it out by the next day. I wouldnt hesitate to book this villa again or recommend it to friends

SPLENDID!!!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this amazing villa directly with Mujtad the owner. He is very kind man always happy to help with our all requests. We could email him or call him.

We were so excited for our first trip to Turkey but staying in Tamay villa just made our Holiday. Beautiful clean, well decorated house located in Kayakoy villa in a very quiet area, amazing big swimming pool and lovely natural garden with some peppers, melons and delicious grapes around.

When we arrived to Kayakoy Sukru came to pick up us from the centre of village as we got lost even it was 2:30 am. All our stay Sukru and his family looked after us very well. We never forget the welcoming basket with fresh fruits and vegetables waiting for on the kitchen table. That was very nice surprise. Everyday in the morning the pool was clean the rubbish was collected and we could find some fresh fruits on the terrace table left by Sukru. He is very kind person. He was also very helpful when electricity gone and solved the problem in few minutes.

The location of the villa was just perfect for us who needed privacy, quietness and calm as we live in rush London. We can highly recommend local restaurants like Jazibe (10 minutes walk) or Muze. Of course we didn't hesitate to visit Fethiye and Oludeniz which are great touristic places only 10-15 minutes drive where you can enjoy the beach, shopping, and food or book a trips. We did paragliding in Oludeniz and boat trip which we really recommend. Other places we reached by a car. Amazing how beautiful country is Turkey with its blue lagoon, so warm sea, beautiful beaches and mountains. If we come back we definitely stay at Tamay villa. Huge thanks to you Mujdat and to Sukru for making our Holiday more than great. :)

A fantastic villa in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We have been to Turkey for our family holiday for four years in a row and we have stayed in very beautiful places but Villa Tamay is the Villa we enjoyed the most!

We are a family of five and we booked directly with Mujdat, the owner, who was happy to help with all our enquiries and was very flexible with our dates.

On arrival, Sukru and his family welcomed and settled us in nicely. They live just down the road and sell the most wonderful fruit and veg.

Villa Tamay was very large, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed.

It's nestled in surrounding farmland on the outskirts of Kaya Koy. There is only one other property nearby so it is in a secluded spot. It has a large garden with many beautiful plants and wildlife. The large swimming pool is amazing! We loved spending much of our time there. It's warm and catches the sun all day.

Kaya Koy offers lovely restaurants and has many points of interest. We enjoyed the twenty minute walk to the centre for bread etc, everyone is friendly and welcoming.

After our two weeks at Villa Tamay we were very sad to leave.

It felt like a very special place in a unique part of Turkey.

Thanks Mujdat and Tamay fromThe Robinsons.

The perfect holiday retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We (family of 5) couldn't have been more delighted with Villa Tamay. We loved its peaceful, rural location with spectacular mountainous backdrop just on the edge of Kayakoy village. Everything was extremely well maintained and clean. It was very well equipped too. Sukru and his family made sure we had everything we needed during our stay and we were grateful for the thoughtful welcome hamper of fresh bread, eggs, homegrown tomatoes, melon and grapes and a bottle of wine. You could easily enjoy whiling away your time by the generously sized pool and only venturing out to sample the many excellent restaurants in the village, most of which offer a pick up and return service to save a walk. If you like cooking, Sukru has a vegetable stall on the road into the village (3 mins walk) where you can buy the most delicious home-grown vegetables (the village is full of vegetable gardens). There is also a great bakery near the main village mosque, close to the mini markets where you can buy everything you need to self cater. It is a 20min level walk from the villa.

If you wish to explore, getting about is easy. We didn't have a hire car for the 10 days of our stay, finding the dolmus services to Fethiye, Gemiler and Oludeniz sufficient (the bus stop is near the entrance to the Ghost Village with buses running approximately every half hour to Fethiye during the day). Taxis are also plentiful with a taxi rank in the village. Recommend Gemiler beach (3Tlire entry fee per person) for watersports (parasailing, banana boats etc) but watch out in the restaurant for prices! Insist they tell you price first - lots of people caught out by the restaurant on the right as you head to the beach. Heard the one to the left is better. A boat trip along the coast is great. We had a private boat from Fethiye for the day visiting peaceful bays avoiding the larger busy boats. Shopping is good in the old part of Fethiye too.

Area is great for walking. We walked from the ghost village to Oludeniz (2.5 hrs - advise walking shoes) and to Gemiler beach (10km from villa), catching the dolmus back.

Definitely recommend this villa. Read Louis de Berniere's novel Birds Without Wings whilst there!

Villa Tamay is located in the historical Kaya village which is between the harbour town of Fethiye and the famous beach resort of Ölü Deniz on the south west coast of Turkey. Holidays at Villa Tamay are for those people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy holiday resorts! Our little spot of paradise can be found nestling between fields and mountains, is luxury set amongst tranquillity, and is only a short walk away from the village restaurants and a 10 or 15 minute taxi or Dolmus ride from all the shops, bars, beaches and boat trips.
