This is a fantastic property in a stunning location with fabulous views and a high degree of privacy and peace and quiet - our only neighbours were the goats and the chickens! We all absolutely loved it! Avlaki Bay itself is a beautiful place - again extremely peaceful and quiet. We didn't see any evidence of day trippers. My son and husband had fantastic time with the Avlaki Sailing School learning to windsurf - quite expensive but individual high quality tuition from a very friendly and experienced expert. The local supermarket up the road was ideal for all our needs with plenty of fresh produce and very friendly and helpful service. The track down to Avlaki Bay was quite rough in places - I think you have to expect this from an isolated property and the owners had very helpfully lit sections of it. It might be a good idea to take a small torch - especially if travelling a little out of season when it would be a little darker at night. Thank you very much Agni Travel and the Villa owners for a very memorable and enjoyable stay.
Brochure/Web Description Comments:
No the description photos etc were all very accurate.
Maintenance/Car Hire etc:
The property was maintained extremely well by kind and sensitive owners who had a high regard for our privacy and took great pride in their property. We were met promptly at the airport and given a warm and friendly welcome.
The villa and its surroundings were excellent. Fabulous (large) swimming pool, totally secluded, with great views. It has all the facilities you could ask for - I had to do the odd bit of work and I can vouch for the Wifi speed. I don't think the pictures of the villa do it justice. Avlaki is still an undiscovered gem and the beach which is about 500m away down a track through the olive groves is mainly shingle and stones with a little sand, it slopes quite steeply, but it is very sheltered and there are no currents or tides so as long as you and your kids can swim it is fine. I would go as far as to say it and the sandy, gradually sloping beach at Ag. stefanos on the west coast were our favourite beaches. There are 2 tavernas on the sea front the Avalik taverna and Cavo Barbaro and both of them I can recommend particularly the Cavo barbaro which is the centre of the bay.
Avlaki Beach is a beautiful sweeping bay with a gently sloping beach and fabulously clear turquoise waters . No wonder Avlaki is a favourite for the locals! The beach is fringed by just a few villas, two tavernas serving local food, and a small sailing school offering dinghy sailing and sail-boarding. Avlaki really is a Greek Island heaven.
The nearby Kassiopi is charming fishing village, with a traditional port. Down at the harbour you can find local fishermen bringing home the morning catch. in Kassiopi you will also find a selection of Tavernas, bars, shops and several beaches. In fact, there is something for everyone. The teens in your party will especially appreciate the evening nightlife - with several music bars and 'low key' clubs, it is a safe environment for them to meet friends.
