Name says it all
Our family (3 couples) had a wonderful time at Heavenly View. The name says it all - the view of Norris Lake and surrounding hills was fabulous from the deck. The Deerfield Resort was very quiet in October. The community tennis courts, pool and playground were within walking distance. Other than the resort's marina and restaurant, the community is quite removed from other activities - at least a 30 minute drive into town. The home is as advertised - spacious bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. Tom the manager was quite responsive to any issues that arose. We had a great time.
Great to work with! The house worked well for our whole family!
Everything was smooth and they were very prompt with any responses!
Thx and hope you’ll join us again soon!
Condition of furnishings
We were not able to use the one the chairs at kitchen table because the back was broken, one of the bar stools was very shakey. There was mildew in bath in lower level. Thelay out of the house was really good. The outside needs pressure washing and new deck furnishings. There was a leak in living ceiling, apparently it had leaked before.
Thx for the feedback and we have had non-stop guests thru the summer and transitioning the handyman / tweaking the cleaning staff for fall. A complete inspection and makeover is planned - thx
Nice vacation rental about 30 minutes from town
I would rent here again to get away from everything. If you want to go to tourist attractions your travel time will be long.
The kids really enjoyed the deer that would come in the backyard area and could be viewed from the deck.
One change I would add would be another curtain in the living room. In the afternoon and evenings most people on the couch on the top level would be in the sunlight,
Heavenly View And Our Summer Vacation
This house was perfect for "space" for our 3 families who meet every year for vacation. The kids had plenty of space to interact and we did not feel crowded. Plenty of bathrooms to use although one of the bathrooms had poor water pressure.
The drive up to this location is a little brutal - take the time to grocery shop in town before you start the ascend. This is about 30 minutes before you arrive to the house. When planning we did not take into consideration the distance we will be from extra curricular activities and this was a negative on our part. Unless if you have just teenagers who can swim or have access to a boat and a golf cart there is not much else to do unless if you drove about 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs away toward the Gatlinburg area. We were allowed to use the community pool which was fun for the kids.
There were several chairs in the house that were loose and broken, the pans were really dirty - we had to scrub some black crud off the pans before we could use them. The cooking utensils were limited - there was not a spatula to use when we were making breakfast. The roof leaked in 2 spots the day it rained. A couple of door handles were loose. Make sure to take 13 gal garbage bags with you. There were also some loose boards on the upper and lower deck - we placed furniture over those spots because it was unsafe for the kids.
The view was definitely amazing and every evening we had tons of deer walking around the back yard. Take lots of apples with you so you can throw them over for the deer to eat. Definitely no cell phone signal for about 30 minutes of the drive up to the house and once there you can use wifi but the cell phone signal is pretty much shot. The air condition unit is very close to one of the bedrooms on the lower level and can be very loud when it kicks on which disturbs sleep.
We were hoping this was going to be a house we can return to on a regular basis but does not seem it would be - mainly because there were not any extra curricular activities close by for the kids in our families (4 yrs to 14 yrs) and this was not close enough to any stores for purchasing food/snacks or souvenir shopping. If you are just looking for something with plenty of space then this is definitely it but you will have to overlook the fact that this house does need some TLC (broken chairs, loose wood on deck etc)
Our family and friends had a wonderful time.
They enjoyed watching and feeding the deer multiple times a day.
Be sure to check out McCloud Mountain, about 20 minutes away - a favorite place for dinner and a view!
