We had a great stay at Dune House in October 2016 with our four children. It really felt like home, with great kitchen and bathroom equipment, games, videos, books, and nice decoration. We enjoyed the beach and seaside across the garden tremendously. The location is also perfect for sightseeing around Kent and West Sussex. Definitely a 5-star!
My family and I had a lovely, relaxing time whilst we stayed at Dune house for a week. The house is beautiful; very spacious, clean and modern and contains all the features people tend to expect giving it a home from home feel.
The location of the house is lovely. The sandy beach of Greatstone is literally steps away from the decking and the house sits within easy access of New Romney and Dungeness as well as many other places which are definitely worth a visit (such as Bodium Castle, the white cliffs of Dover, Rye etc).
We would recommend Dune House as a lovely place to come and relax and explore the surrounding areas.
the cottage is perfectly positioned right on the dunes, a short hop to a fabulous beach.
It was a dream for us to hear the sea and watch the stars at night.
The property itself has everything you would need for a great break. everything has been meticulously thought of and this made things simple and easy for us all. The furnishings including the beds and duvet are all top notch. A home away from home.
great cooking space as well.
we would visit again and will do in the future.
We (4 adults, 1 child) had the opportunity to stay a week beginning of November 2015 at The Dune House. Every little thing was as described in the listing. The house is equipped with everything, literally speaking, and all was very clean and well maintained. In particular, we loved the direct access to the fantastic beach and the 1000's of options to spend a great time in the area, such as Romney Marsh with its churches and the RH&DR steamtrain, Dover, Rye, Canterbury & Leeds.
Watch your step when trying to walk to the waterline at low tide! There are areas on the beach which are quite muddy and will suck you in deep! We've actually lost one welly in the mud - so if you coincidentally discover one, please let us know. ;-)
Do not leave without having visited the Denge 'sound mirrors' nearby, some acoustic early warning systems from the 1930s, representing spectacular and very rare remnants of a dead-end technology on the British coast. However, this excursion requires a little bit of prep work as the site is a bit hidden & not the easiest to reach (unless you're lucky to get on a guided tour).
Also to mention, the owner was very helpful & responsive in getting (minor) issues with the satellite broadband internet connection fixed.
We will keep this wonderful holiday in good memory!
