About Chris & Angie
My wife & I have searched high & low for a lake front cottage for years & recently found this wonderful cottage & we are excited to share this with others who love to relax & enjoy the outdoors. We also enjoy kayaking, backpacking, bicycling & traveling.
Chris & Angie purchased this Cottage in 2017
Why Chris & Angie chose Verona
When arriving here, it's like a switch being flipped & stepping out of the often too busy, everyday society & into a 100% relaxed, stress free world. The drive here is beautiful countryside with traditional large working farms, historical markers as well as local vineyards.

Great cozy getaway!
Great cottage and view. Cozy and exactly as presented. We will be back!
If you are wanting a relaxing and beautiful view, this is the place! The lake is gorgeous and so quiet. The cabin is very clean with plenty of room, we stayed with a family of 5. All the amenities you need and the lake was so beautiful to kayak on. Very peaceful place. I do highly recommend driving in off of Alexander street, as the other entrance road was in terrible shape. From this entrance, the road is in much better shape! Highly recommend this cabin, great place!
Cozy and clean
We had a blast.. Very clean and updated. Owner replied instantly to any questions .Gorgeous lake . Heard roosters and cows in the distance while having coffee on the deck and fishing off the dock.Very Peaceful and tranquil . The Kids used the kayaks too! Brought my trolling motor and used the row boat that was provided and did some fishing.!
Spent a whole day in Florence KY(20 min away) went to the HUGE antique mall.,Boones distllary and smoke this Bbq ..Had dinner at the local winery one evening as well. The WiFi and cable came in handy on a rainy morning. Even nanaged to catch a Cincinnati Reds Game only 30 min away. Overall a great trip in a nice little town.
small but works!
Enjoyed the stay. Some things could be improved. Please indicate in the listing that there is no washer/dryer. Also indicate that there is only one set of towels so guests can bring their own if they need to. A shelf is needed in the bathroom to set items on, maybe above the sink?
Very Quiet & Secluded
My family of 5 visited this property for a long weekend and had a great time. The kids were a little bummed that the lake isn't much of a swimming lake, but we spent plenty of time on the water using the 4 kayaks provided (and one of our own.) The house and property were very clean and organized. It's just a short drive to Big Bone Lick and Rabbit Hash. I was glad we took my wife's Expedition, the road getting down to the house was a bit rough, but all-in-all a great getaway!
Love the location on the lake and covered deck
Had a great time at this location, our first experience with VRBO. Loved the seclusion, no neighbors to the right and wall to block the neighbors to the left from the back porch. So nice to have shampoo, body wash and some kitchen essentials provided. We borrowed the bible to read Genesis on the way to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Used the boat and kayaks a couple nights, so fun!
Those with Reservations PLEASE download the app, "Mobile Hospitably Manager" that homeaway/vrbo will invite you use, this is how you will receive the "welcome package" which will have the cottage access info & all other pertinent information. ALSO **DO NOT use Google Maps, use these directions** Our Property is located on a non county maintained road, so please drive slow, it can be a little rough to some for a hundred yards or so. The easiest way is to take I-71 to the Verona Exit, go east on Hwy 14 & then straight through the 4way stop on 491, 1.8, from the 4-way stop to a Left on Alexander, go .2 miles & take the gravel driveway on the right (looks like a driveway, "No Sign", but there are several garbage cans), follow the road past the bend to the left all the way to the "T", take a right, Landers Lakehouse is the small green cottage on the left, you will Want To Pull Past The Driveway & Back In. Coming from I-75, take the Crittenden exit head west off exit, immediate Left at the Wendys on hwy 491, go 4.4 miles to Alexander Rd, IT WILL BE THE 3rd Alexander Rd you see, so make sure to check your odometer. It will be about a 1/2 mile after you pass Gun Club Rd. (once on Alexander follow the gravel Rd. directions above)
