About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 3-5)

The charm of Moonglade Cottage has been captivating families and summer guests for the past 40 years. Location, amenities and the natural beauty of the surrounding area are what keeps these guests returning year after year.

Situated on the eastern shore of Suttons Bay, Moonglade boasts of spectacular sunsets framed by the twin birch trees from the deck off the master bedroom. The screened in porch with antique wicker furniture awaits you at days end to relax or simply hear the pristine blue water of Suttons Bay lap on the beach. The porch is a great place to take a nap or just read a great book while the midday sun hovers ahead. The cottage is equipped with all wood or tile floors (no carpteing), granite/tile bath, compact yet efficient kitchen with all full size appliances and Fisher/Paykel dishwasher, 2 bedroom (queen and doouble/twin bunk) 2 flat panel TV's and all of the amenities of home.

The ambiance of the village of Suttons Bay lies just 2 miles away. Playing host to award winning restaurants, art galleries, and boutique shopping, Suttons Bay is another constant reminder of why guests travel to Leelanau County.

The heartbeat of Northwest Michigan is Traverse City located just 15 minutes away with world class restaurants, shopping and entertainment at nearby Interlochen Center for the Arts or Dennos Center. Be sure to take advantage of it all!

There is NO DOCK due to the low water levels. Swimming is still great but you have to walk out quite far to get waist deep.

A delightful experience

  • 5 of 5

We love it. We have been coming for several years and return as often as we can. The Moonglade is a compact,well-laid-out two-bedroom bayside cottage, tastefully decorated, with an open kitchen-living room space connecting to a spacious screened in porch. We like the fact that this creates a sizeable area for entertaining, something we regularly do, including a mini-family reunion last year. We have never seen a cottage that integrates exterior and interior spaces better than this one does. There are two patios, adjacent to the cottage one with a large table and chairs suitable for major picnic meals, either prepared in the well-equipped kitchen (with dishwasher) or on the gas grill, and another off the sliding glass door in the main bedroom. As we often need to finish up the last bits of work from our lives downstate, we appreciate the wi-fi. Yet another furnished area for congregating is down two short flights of stairs to the cement patio area on the water. It is all set in the non-touristy, rural Stony Point peninsula, dominated by woods, cherry orchards and not a few stately residences. Downtown Suttons Bay is a 5-10 minute drive away.

Beautiful Setting!

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely love Moonglade! The cottage is clean and has everything you need.

The screened-in-porch is wonderful, and provides a perfect view of the bay. Being right on the clear and clean water is such a delightful experience and allows for lots of activities! It's both exciting and serene, depending upon how you use it!

There are lots of convenient shops and restaurants if you are interested, plus many wonderful wineries nearby.

A perfect vacation spot!

Nice little place with a great view. Be sure to go down the road to Hop Lot. It's a must do for some good beer and a little snack.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed for a week in this cute, cozy cottage. It was clean and neat and had everything we needed. Our golden retriever, Stella, enjoyed her stay as well. Except for wishing we had a sandy beach, we couldn't have asked for more. It was great having 2 decks AND a screened in porch. Tom was great and available for any issues or questions. Sutton' s Bay is wonderful !

Great location

  • 4 of 5

Spent 2 nights traveling with our dogs for an appointment in TC. Overall great place, inside was clean. Outside was a bit dirty however we were just arriving before the season started and it had been a few weeks of crap weather. Tom was super accessible to answer any questions. Centrally located to all the wineries....stop at Hop Lot great place!
