Comfortable home away from home with proximity to beach, shopping, and historic downtown
We have had the pleasure of being repeat renters of this home for a number of years now. It is a quiet comfortable home and setting for our family, and provides us with the ability to easily go the beach, grab groceries, or head into the historic district. Not to mention a quick run or bike on the path just around the corner. We will definitely be back again next year!
This home is clean, bright and perfect location to everything.
6 years and counting at this great home. Our family loves the location and the deck area out back. Super clean and spacious.
The house suited our needs perfectly, was spotlessly clean & very functional.
My friend & I had a great week at Jim Dalzell's house. It has everything you could want & the location was perfect for what we wanted - 1/2 mile from the beach, easy access to shopping & on a quiet street just off the Surfside bike path. Our host provided a notebook full of ideas & locations of all sorts of places plus clear instructions for appliances, trash, etc. The wifi & TVs were great. We didn't have a chance to use the outside grill or shower but they appeared to be high quality. The kitchen & bathrooms had everything you could want, the beds were comfortable as was the living room furniture. We hope to return to this house next year.
The house was great. It's on the bus route so that was convenient as well as being close to the surfside beach. We had plenty of space and used the grill and yard. Would recommend!
Comfortable, cozy hideaway.
First, it was scrupulously clean. Next, it is quietly private. The front and back yards are surrounded by tall bushes and trees; you can see the owners' house next door if you try to. Even with this seclusion, you are only some 50 yards from Surfside Road and an easy bike ride to Surfside Beach.
We liked the cool September nights for sleeping - with the Master Bath having its own heat zone for the morning shower. The house does look like the pictures, and the rear deck faces south for shoulder season warmth (weather co-operating).
My wife and I came for the week before a wedding; our son and his wife came, laptops in hand, to work at their jobs during the day and join us at 5 o'clock.
Everything we needed was there. Our hosts were friendly and most accommodating.
The only thing that will disappoint you is, that when you leave, you'll wish it were YOUR house and that you could return whenever you'd like. Well, you never know - talk to Jim!
Bob & Tina,
I would like to thank the both of you for taking the time to write a review of our house. Your kind words about your stay will give other visitors additional insight into our property beyond the information found on our web page. Please keep us in mind and return to Nantucket when your schedule allows....... Jim
Satisfied in Surfside!
We just returned from a delightful week in Nantucket. Admittedly, perfect weather set the stage for our enjoyable stay, but accommodations that met our needs and expectations certainly played an important role. With 3 people in our party, we enjoyed spreading out, agreeing that there was easily room for an additional 3 or 4 people.
This house is in a perfect location. (a quieter part of the island but with access to everything.) It was well equipped, clean, and comfortable for a fair price by Nantucket rental standards... and the landlord is a very nice person. My husband's favorite feature was the outdoor shower, mine was the well equipped kitchen. Beds were comfortable and provided linens were very good including the bedding, towels and beach towels!
The house sits just off the bike path to Surfside, and the beach is a 10 minute walk or 3 minute bike ride. We did not bring a car to Nantucket, so location is important. Shuttle stops on the Surfside line(Daytime only) stop less than 5 minutes away and the Miacomet Loop shuttle stop is an easy 10 minute walk day and till 11:20 at night. Stop and Shop was an easy bike ride and we enjoyed biking to beaches at Surfside, Miacomet, and Cisco. With a little map sense, we found our way to Siasconset, Bartlett Farms(which we love) and Cisco Brewery as well as East Coast Seafood. Using bike baskets and backpacks we were able to carry all the groceries the 3 of us needed! On a few occasions we used taxi's and with a call ahead, there was no problem getting one.
We will definitely come back to this house a 2B Gladlands Ave. and we would recommend it to others without reservation. Adults who like to bike do not need a car to stay here, but if you are a family with small children, you would probably enjoy having a car.
Karen, thank you for taking the time to write a review for our house about your stay while you were on Nantucket.
Hope you and your family have a relaxing, and enjoyable remainder of the summer.
Thx. Ann & Jim
