Quaint house perfectly located close to Provincetown. More than enough space for 3 people and a dog. Grounds are beautiful and well kept. It made our stay amazing.
Delighted to have found this
I'm a first-time user of vrbo.com, and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect - but I was delighted with my initial experience. This rental is just as described. It's a comfortable little house set at the back of the property owner's land in a very nice, residential neighborhood. While the owner and caretaker are within reach if necessary, you never feel intruded upon in any way. There is plenty of physical and social space. The house has the feel of a sweet farmhouse. It's spotlessly clean, bright, well-equipped, and just has a very comfortable, welcoming feel to it. Janice herself is warm and friendly, offering helpful recommendations for food and recreation when asked. And most appreciated of all in my situation, she is an animal lover and was willing to indulge my request to stay with more than one dog. I'm willing to bet that she'd try to work with any renter's reasonable request. I don't have any warnings for a potential renter; this is a well cared for rental, and it is a cozy, safe, reasonably priced home away from home. I stayed in the winter, but it would be fun to see the large garden in full glory during the warmer months. Incidentally, since we did stay in winter, I can comment that the house was toasty-warm when we got there and wasn't in the least bit drafty (and they apparently just installed a/c for summer visitors).
A great weekend away!
My mother and I came here for a mental vacation/weekend away. Janice was very accommodating and the house was ready with lights on when we arrived. The area is beautiful and so peaceful. The house was cozy and fit all of our needs :) My beagle/lab Oliver loved the yard and the beach nearby. I would DEFINITELY recommend this property to anyone looking for a weekend away on the Cape.
Spring Break Getaway
We simply cannot say enough about how pleased we were with our stay. The house and surrounding grounds were the perfect getaway. Great beaches are accessible by car (and certainly by bike in the summer). Our beagles loved the trails surrounding the house. We will certainly be back soon!
Heaven on earth...serene & inspiring.
Having stayed in various Truro properties, I can confidently say this one's my all-time favorite. It's got everything I need to be comfortable, including cooking in a spacious kitchen (what a view!) and laundry. Comfortable beds and extremely peaceful vibe. It's tastefully decorated, which is also a plus.
Janice is a landscape artist, so everywhere you look, the views are stunning...even in winter. And the birds put on quite a show for you!
We loved the walks, and going down to Pamet Bay. The ocean is a five minute drive, and Provincetown is about fifteen minutes. My husband said he can't wait to go back, and neither can I. We have found our home away from home.
Heaven Part II
I got my wish and returned in July 2009 for a 2 week stay. This is an awesome place to rent in Truro with the best hosts anyone could ask for. Already booked 1st two weeks in July 2010 and am looking forward to our return.
Truro, MA year-round vacation rental. Beautiful historical and quiet area perfectly positioned between bay and ocean. Depot Road in Truro, MA is regarded as one of the most scenic roads in Old Truro because of the lack of density, historic homes and proximity to the Pamet River. Fifteen minutes to Provincetown, which hosts fabulous entertainment, restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. Sunday to Sunday rentals June - August. Off-season rental dates flexible.
